Rice Balls
Patricia M.

This place is lively on a Friday night! What a fun atmosphere. Came here on an early Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised by the down to earth service and food. We started with the rice balls, and they were vegetarian and delicious. The vodka sauce on the side really sent us. We also got the mushroom ravioli which was rich and a bit earthy. We would love to come back here and try the pizza! This time we were full until the next day despite splitting the appetizer and entree. There was no wait but we got there just before it got packed so I would consider what time you're going.

Stopped in at Luna's for lunch with a friend. It was absolutely quiet - we had the place to ourselves. We got two pies and their rice balls. Everything was good but just a little underwhelming. The rice balls were probably my favorite, crispy and the sauce was good too. The pizzas were alright, I mean not bad by any means just not amazing. Service was great, mainly because we were the only ones there but overall a good lunch. Is there better pizza in nutley? Yes. Maybe I'll try their pastas next time and compare. I'll definitely give this place another try for dinner.

Stopped in for a meal and a drink after conducting some business in Nutley, and wow what a great meal we had. I enjoyed some bruschetta, some beet salad, and the best Philly cheesesteak sandwich I ever had. They beat Philly hands down. The red peppers in the sandwich tasted amazing. The beet salad was absolutely delicious, made with lots of fresh beets. The best part though was the service, every employee works hard to please each and every customer, and they do it with a genuine smile. Our server Joe was awesome, he was attentive, gracious and polite. A real gentleman. The whole vibe of the place was cool. A great place to visit. I will be back!

The rice balls are to diie for!! My son ordered the garlic parm wings and sadly the garlic was beyond burnt (as you can see), and it ruined the wings. That won't stop me from ordering the rice balls!

Very friendly service today. The meatball sandwich tasted okay, unfortunately it was not hot, balls were a bit cold inside. The chicken Nutley Raider sandwich also was not hot enough and the prosciutto did not taste fresh. Three pizzas at a table next to us looked quite boring. We won't be back.

So I met my friend here for lunch. We shared the calamari with teriyaki. Calamari was tender with a bit of crispness. Very good. My friend had the Italian chicken sandwich. He stated it was pretty good ! So I saw they had a pork panini with Broccoli Rabe with provolone. ( Which is probably my favorite sandwich when made right). So my husband and I returned for dinner on the same day!! We ordered the potato, sausage and long hots as an appetizer. Excellent.... Very filling. Mozzarella sticks for the teen.. The pork panini was surprisingly delicious. The pork was sliced thin, seasoned perfectly, juicy with the correct amount of broccoli rabe and provolone. Paired with an Au jus sauce on the side!! Hubs ordered the Luna rib eye sandwich. He said it was good but tried my panini and said he should have ordered that instead. Service was great.. inside is very nice. Cool place to come hangout. Will definitely add to my rotation.

Happy Sunday Adventurers! I was here last weekend to meet up with some friends in the area. We tried a variety of drinks--old fashioned, some sort of spritz, my first espresso martini and of course an extra dirty martini. I've been trying them at different places just see how they're made. The service was quick and efficient, really great vibe at the bar. I loved the steak crostini, the meat was cooked perfectly and tender with great flavor. I also ordered a special pizza from an older menu--it wasn't bad just very tart/acidic. I'd still recommend it I think if they added ricotta it would break all that up. I did not like the espresso martini, too sweet. I think that's how they are suppose to taste but I'd prefer less sweet more espresso. They host parties in the larger room next door so unless the doors closed you'll hear a lot of kids running/screaming. Parking wasn't too bad, but it was a Sunday and cold, you'll probably have a harder time on a different day. I'd like to come back here during a happy hour if they still offer it. I think it would be a good time with wine and pizza!

It's got that cool gastro-pub feel where you can sip a cocktail at noon and no one judges you, in fact, they encourage it. Now let's talk about the real star of the show: the Breakfast Burrtios! We ordered them, and let me tell you, this wasn't some dainty little wrap. This was a full on, two hands required, no talking for five minutes situation. Packed with all the breakfast essentials and wrapped up like a gift to humanity, it was hearty, flavorful, and exactly what brunch dreams are made of. Every bite basically said, "You made the right decision today." The rest of the menu has all the brunch classics with a fun twist, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked like it deserved its own photoshoot. The drinks were flowing, the crowd was buzzing, and the whole place had that contagious weekend energy. We ordered a few things. Spicy Tuna Tartare: wasn't spicy, didn't taste fresh which wasn't a deterrent to me as this isn't a seafood restaurant or fine dining. Next time I'd pass on that. Bavarian Pretzel: amazing. Very tasty. Came out nice and hot. That rarebit cheese sauce? Oh honey that can come home with me anytime. Absolutely delicious. And this is coming from someone who hates that fake cheese, cheese whiz type taste. Margherita Pizza: didn't come out hot which is probably why I wasn't a fan of it. It was pretty mediocre for such a basic pizza. And the food didn't come out all together, so not sure why that didn't come out hot. Wings and waffles: Tasty buffalo wings. The waffles actually taste like funnel cake which was a nice surprise. THEN. The burger came out and that is why this review dropped. It had a small hair on the side of the plate and a closer look at the rest of the plate, you'll see a long hair on the pickle. That was disappointing but happy to have tried the place nonetheless.

They have great happy hour specials and staff who are there to honor the deals and give you a fun experience. Nothing worse than walking into a bar because of an advertised deal and the bartender charging you full price because they didn't know anything about the deal. That doesn't happen here which is huge!!! They have multiple TVs and seating areas, which make it perfect for watching sports. Drinks are great and food is delicious. We love the chicken quesadilla and wings. The espresso martini was surprisingly good. We love their drink pitchers as well. Overall you can tell they care about the community, and want to offer a reliable and fun experience in an area that doesn't have too many bars like this. We have returned multiple times since the first time because we love the consistency, fun events, and friendly staff. The only thing they could improve on is the music. When there's a DJ, it's a great night, but when it's up to Touch Tunes there's room for improvement. We still will return whenever we are looking for a good time!

First visit was a few summers back and we absolutely loved it…read more "I think we found our new favorite place to keep coming back to!" (But time can be slippery and it took a bit longer than expected for a follow-up visit.) I'm happy to report that first time was not a fluke and this place IS worthy of putting into steady rotation*. (* - if money's not an issue) I'm boring - both visits I went with the (homemade) pasta specials and they were incredible. The Mrs. is equally boring and got the branzino each time. (And loved it both times.) One kid tried the (gulp, $60) steak special and kept raving about it. (Well, he wasn't keen on the zucchini but what teen really digs that veg, right?) The other kid loves bolognese and was happy with their version. A lovely small and warm restaurant. Limited menu with a handful of specials. It's not cheap. (A wee bit over $50 a person and we didn't get appetizers or dessert and only had sparkling water.) BYOB. (Limited) street parking. The host/owner - you won't find a more inviting and personable figure who is clearly proud of what he's created. Is a part of me tempted to dock a few stars because the owner was happy to see one of my kids wearing an AC Milan jersey the day before they were set to clash with my team, AS Roma? Of course!
