We didn't even consider anyone else because we knew his quality of work is exceptional both for stained or painted cabinets and that we'd love the result. Alfred is great to work with. He is a master of his craft. He is also good at coming up with creative solutions for cabinet design especially if the space is small and tight, like in a hallway, where our storage closets were. Alfred truly brought our ideas to life and perfected them. He really is a perfectionist! We were recommended to Alfred through our contractor and are incredibly happy with his craftsmanship. From the perfectly aligned cabinet drawers and doors to the professional staining, Alfred did an amazing job on our kitchen! Although you can't tell from the pictures, he also built us a custom pull out spice rack and pan drawer (to the left of the fridge space). There was also an awkward area of the upper cabinets by the window that held the roof overhang that we weren't sure what to do with, and Alfred cleverly disguised it so that it wouldn't be visible. I wanted Alfred Cabinets to replace my bathroom countertop and install new doors. I agreed to the price and waited a week for the job's start date. 8:00 PM the night before the job, Alfredo texts me that he wants $1,000 for materials, which was more than half the cost of the job. His worker showed up at my home the next day, and I asked the worker when he would be installing the countertop. The worker did not know when they would install the countertop, so I called Alfredo. Alfredo did not know when he would be able to install the countertop. He indicated he might do some painting tomorrow on the cabinet, but the countertop could be another week, and he's super busy. Alfredo never informed me that he intended to demo one day and then, a few days later, install the countertop. In view this was 1) a single bathroom vanity, 2) the worker only planned to remove the old countertop and door fronts today, 3) the $1,000 he requested exceeded the total material costs for the job, and 4) Alfred said he is busy and did not know when the install will take place, I told Alfred that I would agree to pay $500 upfront. Alfred declined to proceed with doing the work. In reviewing the California Contractors State License Board, it appears the maximum amount he is allowed to request is 10% down or $1,000, whichever is less. The job was less than $2,000, but Alfredo wanted $1,000. Therefore, it appears that Alfred Cabinets required more than legally permitted. read more

I have used Alfredo cabinets on several projects in our home. He was recommended by our General Contractor who has used him on many projects. He shows up on time, has been professional with me, reasonable rates and thoughtful in the work that he has done for me. The projects was for a home office 11ft x 11 ft base cabinets and upper cabinets. Also had built-in lights. Very happy with the finished product. We just finished our project with Alfredo and my husband and I are amazed by the results! We took out our master bedroom closet which was a large reach in closet with 3 mirrored rolling doors and replaced it with a custom his and hers built in. Alfredo is a pleasure to work with. Wish I had listened to Peter K's post but I gave this business the benefit of doubt mainly because Alfred seemed like a good person, great energy and very polite. Unfortunately his workmanship it subpar and he does not stand behind his work. So many mistakes that he promised to correct but never did. By the time we I realized that that he had no intention of fixing his mistakes, we were too far into the job and he already had most of his money. Once finished, I mistakenly paid him his final payment because I figured there was no way that he would jeopardize his 5-Star rating on Yelp! Just look at these pictures and judge for yourself... Look at my Yelp reviews, I try not to post negative reviews but came to conclusion that people should be warned. BEWARE! (don't pay him a penny until the entire job is finished otherwise he will drag you along for a long ride. I've heard every excuse in the book, from Covid to you name it, and now I had to call him with a friend's phone just to get him to pick up the call. (he screens calls) Thank you Yelp for giving homeowners a platform to warn one another from crooks! The Lazy-Suzanne is WAY too small for the corner, defeats the whole purpose if you need to reach way in there to access anything. Alfredo Villa and his business Alfred Cabinets is a scam. He took the money and run away in the middle of the project. Before he was constantly blackmailing me to pay him more upfront if I want him to finish the job. He is horrible man with no honor. Contract means exactly nothing to him. If it comes to quality of his work, it's as bad as his character. He screwed up everything what's possible. Built Island cabinets 3/4 inch shorter than the rest of the cabinets so we couldn't fit wine cooler underneath, opening for fridge was to big so we had use additional panels, gaps of half inch between ceiling and cabinets, he built wrong sizes of cabinets so we had to use panels to cover, cracks and patches on cabinets painted over without sanding it before. HORRIBLE !!! Dealing with Alfredo Villa was the worse possible experience. He is the worse contractor on the planet or should I rather say a crook trying to steal your money and leave you with a huge unfinished mess. I will meet him in court. By the way he doesn't have contractor licence or insurance so court is the only way to get your money back. Don't hire him regardless of how good his estimate/price will be, you will regret it. read more
