My spouse and I have had services done by several stylists here, and all were fantastic and super friendly. My personal go-to is Mikka, as I've been a client of hers for many, many years. The Salon Blunt team is filled with passionate, award winning stylists, who attend seminars and travel to industry shows to keep up on the latest styles and trends. You can be certain that they will give you a style that compliments your look, and works for you. If that's not enough, I suggest you check out their Instagram @salonbluntyeg, where they constantly post pics of styles done by their team. And if you are going in for a service and not sure what you want, their Instagram is a great place to draw inspiration. But rest assured the stylists will use their expertise to help you pick the right style, and you'll leave feeling amazing!

GREAT salon with wonderful people and amazing talent. This was my first visit to Propaganda (after…read moresome horrendous experiences at other Edmonton salons), and I won't be trying anywhere else from now on! My stylist - Blanca - was on time, friendly, happy, chatty, and really creative. She knew just what I wanted even though I couldn't explain it very well. For my colour, I said I wanted something unique and creative and rather than just go to the default of black with red or black with blonde, she took easily over 15 minutes to visualize, to look at different coloured swatches, to talk to me about what she was thinking, and she actually DESIGNED my colour for my head and for the cut she was planning. It ended up completely amazing and has so much dimension to it that I can't stop looking at it - every time I do my hair, it looks a little bit different, but it ALWAYS looks great! My cut was the same - she listened to what I wanted, asked good questions, thought about the cut, and then started at it. When she was done, I didn't look like the same person. She took her time, gave it the care it deserved, and even though she had to stay late to finish, she didn't rush it. Even though the whole process took over 4 hours (four or five different colours, in foils and solid colour, etc), I wasn't bored for a second. Blanca timed everything so that I was never left just sitting. I was continuously offered tea or coffee (yummy cherry tea!) just as I finished it, there was lots happening around the salon (including a photo shoot!), and best of all, I got an amazing hand massage and a DELICIOUS scalp massage. Words cannot describe how happy I am with my cut and colour and the best part is how comfortable and happy the salon seemed to be - laughter and talking and people making everyone feel like family the second they walked in the door. Both the owners were there and they constantly circulated making sure that everyone - stylists and customers alike - were happy and had what they needed. Amazing experience!

As soon as I saw Emily I knew she was the stylist for me. I had a lot of photos to show her and she understood what it was that I wanted from the start. As Emily was carefully cutting my hair I had time to look at the other stylists, clients, and the place itself. It feels like a calm, and caring place where everyone was relaxed and sipping on an offered beverage. When I found out that this is a family run salon I liked it even more. Other stylists helped to weigh in on which products would be best for my hair and then Emily found a cheaper version so that I had a choice. There is even a free bang trim between cuts which is appreciated. Somehow by the end of my cut my hair looked like my favorite part of each photo I had shown Emily. I will definitely be back ! Thank you Emily and staff and all the best to you in the New Year !

Alisha gives the best scalp massage, can decode my incoherent directions into pure ferndangle (that's an award winning haircut kids), and bonus, she totally looks like Heather Graham. She's the bomb (Alisha that is....although Heather is pretty cool too). The decor and vibe definitely lean toward the feminine side but the whole place is chockers with cool peeps. They'll hook you up with a 5 star latte while you wait and you'll get a front row view of the action on Whyte. You used to be able to get a beer with your hair cut (you can't come back to the other side once you're experienced that btw) until someone complained that it was inappropriate because they had brought along their little ankle bitter, demon child (note: ankle biting not confirmed). Pro Life Tip: Don't be that douche that ruins it for everyone else. Coles Notes: Go here; ask for Alisha.

I told the woman doing my hair, I wanted to look "like a sixties movie star" and the woman doing my hair that I wanted "loose waves that still looked fancy". They were quick, awesome to chat with and open to touching things up when I asked them to. In addition, it all cost $90. Three cheers for low budget weddings and awesome stylists!

She just needed a bang trim and so when she entered and no one greeted her, she sat and waited. She was never actually greeted and when finally acknowledged was rudely asked, "if you don't have an appointment, WHY are you sitting here???" and when she said what she wanted she was told the stylist had "8 minutes tomorrow around 4:45" so mom booked it. When she arrived today around 4:40, the stylist seemed to have just started a new client and said, "well, I didn't think you were actually coming back and I had a walk in come in! I don't have time to do anything today." So, mom left - sad, disappointed and frustrated. This behaviour by the stylist is RIDICULOUS and I'm glad I don't know which stylist this was as I have frequented this salon off and on for ELEVEN years. I typically recommend it but based on my mother being treated so poorly, I don't know if I'm going to go back!

So, I do not recommend this salon at all. I felt harassed by the owner by email (if I didn't respond within 24 hours she seemed to take it as a personal affront) and disrespected as a customer. Not your standard vanilla salon!…read more Not that they won't do vanilla....there is nothing wrong with vanilla. I'm vanilla. I'm not a very exciting hair customer. This place is so much more because of the staff. So the store front caught my attention initially. It is off 104 Ave. Great locale. Parking can be found easily across the street in the Harveys and Best Buy parking lot (street parking is a pain and the Dennys parking lot is iffy. Not sure if they tow?) The building itself looks like a historic brick build. The salon is a glass house. So much natural light! It can get quite warm on a sunny day. And shockingly, that much natural light can make every blemish on your face come to bite you. The lobby has your standard fare - tea, coffee, water upon arrival. Grest smelling soap and warm towels in the unisex bathroom. Updated and modern furniture. Skincare and haircare lines are promoted and beautifully displayed. But man, it's all about the people that work there! They represent style! Blue hair, purple hair, dreads, braids, shaved, tattoos, piercings....and skill. I've gone to the salon with and without a beauty agenda. I've seen 3 different stylists. They've nailed my vanilla look. I walk out of there bouncing. Things to know: Make an appointment.
