I called them on Saturday, 2/14, and asked for a reservation for 15 people. Our youth hockey team…read morewas playing nearby, and since Valentine's was shot due to our game, some families suggested a post-game dinner. While I was on the call with The Iron Horse staffer who checked if they could accommodate us, five more people said they wanted in. So, my party expanded to 20. The staffer said "No problem. See you at 8pm." Ninety minutes later, I called to update our numbers again, and we were up to 28. Ugh. The staff said, again, "No problem. See you at 8pm." A few more people heard of the gathering, so our total group was 32 people. With just a few hours notice. On a Saturday night. On Valentine's Day. That was the first bit of magic, and the waitstaff continued with friendly, fast, and accurate service of all the kids and parents. The final act was the food, which was outstanding. The portions were huge and delicious. (I had the wings, and "hot" was definitely hotter than most other places. So, order accordingly!) So, on behalf of our team, we wanted to extend an incredible "Thank you" to everyone at The Iron Horse and (in hockey terms) stick taps for an incredibly well done evening!

The wings come out still crispy and pairs well with bleu cheese dressing. I don't believe it is a premade flavor, since it comes out slightly different each time. Always delicious and I always dream about them. Not pictured but the brussel sprouts are also a great shareable. Our pizza was as cheesy as can be. We always leave with leftovers which I happily devour the next day.

I think this is a cool place for a sports bar in a casino. We were immediately sat on a Friday,…read morewhich is usually pretty rare. We shared the giant pretzel, nachos, and Smashburger. I usually skip the pretzel, but I'm happy we got it because it was soft and had the perfect amount of salt. The nachos and burger took a super long time to come out. I think they were waiting to bring them out together, but that just led to soggy nachos and a lukewarm burger. The chips that weren't soggy were pretty good and the added chili was good for flavor. Drinks were good! I can't remember the specific one that I got but it was Apple flavored and perfect for the fall. They serve 32 ounce beer mugs and it was hilarious next to my tiny wine glass. I would check them out again if I were in the area and looking for this kind of atmosphere.

It cost $50/hour including shoe rental. Staffing seemed sparse and it really took a while for someone to acknowledge the 2 of us, and no one at least greeted us and let us know they'd help us shortly. It was a Sunday in April and the place was about half full. There are only about 10 lanes. No one ever came over to take a drink or food order but that could've been because I exclaimed how expensive it was for one hour of bowling. According to the April Vacation Special it seemed like I should've gotten apps but all I got was bowling & shoe rental. However, we had fun. The automated scoring, pin setup, ball return were in working order. There's lots of bowling ball weights and finger hole sizes to choose from. There's a GIGANTIC TV with some seating so it was nice to catch the Bruins game after we finished bowling.

I am back! The restaurant/bar is located at 623 Main St. in Manchester, CT. The Pearl Sports Bar in…read moreManchester, CT, is a modern sports bar and restaurant located at 623 Main Street, offering a menu of burgers, sandwiches, entrees, and appetizers, alongside craft cocktails, beer, and mocktails. Owned by Fornarelli's, it features a lively atmosphere with TVs for sports, happy hours, and events like trivia and paint nights, with a speakeasy lounge also planned for the location. Today is Taco Tuesday with a $10 trio of tacos and $6 margarita. It's also Trivia Night from 6-8! There is no shortage of things going on here! The decor is nice (notice the WWII bomb). The music (mostly Country) is pleasant too. I love the countertop! Someone else noticed too! It's like transparent with a bottom of a lake feel to it! The have just opened a Speakeasy in the basement too. I'm told it's busy (so make reservations). It's only open on weekends too (for now). For my first drink, I'm having a Mole Manhattan. They say "Meet the Manhattan's Mysterious Cousin." This is made with El Tesoro Reposado Tequila, Xocolatl Mole Chocolate Bitters and Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth. This is a very creative drink! It's served in a martini glass. It's chilled and very tasty. A little garnish wouldn't hurt. Maybe an Amarena cherry. I love the flavor! For my first item, I'm having a House Salad. They have a Happy Hour Tues-Fri from 4-6 PM. There's a lot of $7 food items and discounted drinks. There is a large menu posted on the wall next to the bar. This salad comes standard with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It is made with romaine lettuce, mesclun greens, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and black olives. This is quite good! It is very fresh tasting. The use of quality greens helps. I love the dressing! It appears to be homemade with a unique taste. For my next item, I'm having the Caesar Salad. This is made with hearts of romaine lettuce, shaved parmigiano cheese and seasoned croutons. Please toss it (don't served with dressing on the side). This has height! It is very lightly doused with Caesar dressing and gets thicker as you work your way down. This is very good! Yummy croutons too. For my next drink, I'm having an Italian Lemon Ice. They say "When life throws you lemons, make a cocktail." This is made with Triple 8 Vanilla Vodka, fresh lemon juice, hand-squeezed orange juice and orgeat. Allegedly, Triple 8 Vanilla Vodka is far and away the best vanilla vodka on the market. Orgeat is a sweet, nutty syrup traditionally made from almonds, sugar, and orange blossom water, with historical roots in barley-based milk substitutes. Let's see what this tastes like! This is quite good! It's nicely get garnished, chilled and delicious! For my next food item, I'm having the Grilled Chicken Sliders (2). These are fantastic! Best I've ever had! For my next item, I'm having the Taco Tuesday Special (three tacos for $10). Chicken for me. Crap! Let's see what they have here. I didn't see any options for the shell. I prefer lettuce ("naked") but that's not happening here. I'll settle for "hard" tacos if they have them otherwise "soft" it is! These are good! I love that green sauce! The lemon slice is a nice touch! It's chilled, nicely garnished and filled to the rim. This is delicious! Taco Tuesday has a $6 margarita. Let's see with this is made of and tastes like. Per the restaurant, they are "Simply the best Margarita for miles around!!" I am going to verify this claim. Let's see his this goes! They're right! It's garnished This is great! For $6 you can't go wrong! This is much better than I expected! This might be the best around! For $6, it just might be! It's Tuesday Trivia tonight so the host has just arrived! I just noticed that they have the Happy Hour menu on the wall (to my right) in a large 2' by 4' painting. That's different! So each "team" (me) gets a name. 1st place is $50! What a fun night here! I love this place! For my entree, I'm having the Blackened Salmon which is a fresh salmon filet "blackened to protection" with their house base Cajun draining blend with the chef's selection of "starch" and veggie. You find often see the "starch" in there. My only request is don't fry it (mashed potatoes or home friends are fine). This is just perfect! I love every part of this! For my last drink, I'm having the Pearly Old Fashioned. This is "Still perfect after all these years." This is made with Maker's Mark, filthy cherries, Cara Cara orange, raw sugars and Angostura bitters. Very good! This is chilled and delicious! Good job! For our desserts, we are having the Nonna's Tiramisu (their authentic Italian recipe like Nonna used to do) and Moosetrack's Gelato Truffle mace with vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge drink, mini peanut butter his covered in peanut flakes. These are great! We had a great time here!

We came in as a group of six after a long day and simply asked to be seated in an empty section so we could sit comfortably together with my daughters. We were told that area was reserved only for large parties, even though it was completely empty at the time. We even offered to push together two 4-tops to make it work, but were still denied. It just felt like there was no flexibility or effort to accommodate guests, which was disappointing given the situation. Overall, not the kind of experience that makes you want to return.
