I've been meaning to write this review for a while. Yes, this place has the best frames and service in town, but the real gem here is Dr. Tamar. It's not often you leave an eye exam and think "I hope she never leaves" but it's true. So friendly and knowledgable, and she seems to go out of her way EVERY time....supplement recommendations, trial lenses, but this time when my wife had an eye injury and we were about to head off to urgent care, we called the office and she saw her right away, significantly reduced her pain....basically my wife entered in tears and left giving Dr. Tamar a hug. Even my 5 year old said "Let's leave her flowers in the middle of the night!". Thanks again Dr. Tamar! read more

Alexander Daas has one of the best eyewear collections I've seen in LA - truly impressive. They carry Mykita, Oliver Peoples, Matsuda, and other high-end brands that are hard to find elsewhere. The staff is genuinely friendly and knowledgeable, taking time to help you find the perfect fit and look. I tried on multiple luxury brands and they were patient throughout. Here's why I'm deducting stars: They advertise that they "work with all insurance providers," but this is deceptive. What they actually do is give everyone a flat 20% discount if you mention having vision insurance - they don't actually process insurance claims or work with insurance companies directly. This is NOT the same as accepting insurance. I drove 40 miles specifically to use my VSP insurance here after calling ahead. When I called, they told me to come in person to discuss insurance options, which led me to believe they accepted it. The reality? A Mykita frame with top-tier Zeiss progressive lenses would cost me $1,300+ after their "discount." The exact same setup through an actual VSP provider would cost me around $600 using my insurance benefits. That's a $700 difference! I wish they were upfront about this instead of using misleading tactics to get customers in the door. When you call asking about insurance, they should clearly state: "We don't accept insurance directly, but we offer 20% off and can provide receipts for out-of-network reimbursement." That would be honest. **Bottom line:** Absolutely visit if you want to see and try amazing frames and don't mind paying full premium prices. The selection and service for frame selection are excellent. But do NOT make a special trip thinking you can use your vision insurance here - you can't. Their "insurance discount" is just marketing speak for a regular discount everyone gets. **Tip for shoppers:** Try frames here, note the model numbers, then order through an actual insurance provider if you want to use your benefits. read more

1st time shopper at Alexander Daas in Larchmount. I walked in and immediately was greeted by smiles and a friendly atmosphere. Julie, one of the stylist there assisted me and she is professional, sharp, and looked out for me as we sorted through different brands, eye glasses, and sun glasses. Her feedback was honest, which is what you want from a stylist. It didn't feel like I was being sold to rather 'these work with your face shape and style', etc. Loved it. Ii want to share my experience again with the Alexander Daas eyewear boutique in LA. After my prescription changed, I went back to this store. The service hasn't changed a bit- still just as amazing. As soon as I walked in, several staff members approached me, asking how they could help. And honestly, it felt like the whole store helped me pick out frame! Every time if someone walked in, the team members approached was quick to assist them as well. What stood out to me was how well the customers and staff know each other- they were talking not just about glasses, but also about family, school, and other everyday topics. It is felt warm and personal.As always, they have a huge selection of frames. I am really happy with my experience and highly recommend Alexander Daas eyewear boutique. This place is the simply the best! Dr. Kaloustian and all of the staff are so friendly and helpful. I used to dread going to the eye doctor but Dr. Kaloustian makes it so easy and is incredibly communicative about everything she does. I also appreciate how cost conscious everyone is, I knew upfront what my insurance would cover and what rebates were available to me. I recommend Dr. Tamar 1000% as my primary eye doctor. I struggle with severe dry eyes, and she has gone above and beyond in treating me and advising me, taking into account my financial limitations as well. I have never ever had any kind of doctor who cares so much. She'll text me with follow up advice and to check in, and is up to date on the newest technology. She is hands down the best ophthalmologist I've ever seen. She feels like family! I never write yelp reviews but felt compelled to because of my unusually exceptional experience with her. I went into Alexander Daas with what seemed like an unfixable problem for my glasses, and the employers there took it upon themselves to really go above and beyond to help me. Not only was the service spectacular (they were both so nice and friendly), they also managed to adjust my glasses despite the difficulty. If you're looking for the best eyewear from people who know eyewear, Alexander Daas is the place. I needed new lightweight Lindberg frames and had been unable to find a store that carried the complete line or was capable of properly creating or adjusting them. The staff at A. Daas was very helpful and understanding of my concerns, and I was able to order two custom frames that were made precisely and perfectly! This isn't easy with Lindbergs. One of those shops you won't really know what you're getting yourself into until you visit. Unfortunately, the shop can be easily overlooked and that is why I'm writing this. Alexander Daas technicians are amazing, friendly and very easy to work with. There is nothing bad I could say at all about this place, the selection is quite impressive. Although the shop is quite small, don't let that fool you, the buyer knows what they are doing. Ultimately you can find a lot of the designers you may not find elsewhere. For example, there are styles here that I was unable to find when shopping in other stores and they had it. This store will not disappoint, look or call ahead to know which designers they carry and I'm sure they'll be able to locate the style and fit you want. I love this place. They have the best selection of frames and now they have Dr. Tamar. She is the best. The manager, Jessica, is also the best. I felt totally taken care of by both of them. I also had fun, even during the bright light and stinging eye drop part of the eye exam. I've been buying my sunglasses exclusively from here for years, and now this is my one-stop-shop for my vision health (and a tasty espresso!) I just got a new pair of reading glasses that are so nice, and a fresh pair of sunglasses that make me feel very cool. Next I'll be getting my distance glasses. It had been about four years since I took the time to update my eyewear and prescription. I know, shame on me. That said, I had the pleasure of working with Jessica and it was an awesome experience.
