When I bought my West Seattle house in 1994, my bank required a new roof in order for me to get a…read moremortgage. A Better Roofing installed the new roof back then. I paid extra for what, at the time, were called 25 year (asphalt) shingles instead of what were (at the time) called 20 year shingles. My roof still looked OK, and I was confident that it would go through at least one more winter without leaking. There was a certain amount of low-level stress, though, whenever I thought about my old roof, so I decided to get a new roof. I got two estimates, but I liked the idea of A Better Roofing doing the new roof 32 years after they did my first new roof. I also liked what I read on the A Better Roofing website on their "About Us" webpage https://www.abetterroofing.com/about-us/ and their estimate was lower than the other contractor's estimate. The A Better Roofing crew removed the old roof then installed the new roof, all in one day. Since I got good results/value paying extra for upgraded shingles in 1994, I paid extra for upgraded shingles in 2026. :) After my new roof was installed and I had paid, I told Christian that A Better Roofing had installed my previous new roof in 1994. He told me that more than half of their business is referrals (a new roof owner recommending A Better Roofing to someone else who is ready for a new roof) and repeat customers (like me). Look at me: I repeated and now I'm referring. :)

But despite the cost, I went with them because their proposal was clearly superior to the other companies'. It was detailed, with a clear explanation of all systems and materials recommended and transparent pricing information. It was also much easier to read and understand than the other bids. Our project was promptly scheduled. We had a desired window of time when we wanted it done and were accommodated. The actual install was about as painless as a major house improvement project can be. The team arrived on site on time, communicated proactively throughout the process, and left the property clean and tidy. The whole project only took 2.5 days. It started on a Monday and on Thursday I went through a comprehensive punch out process with the site manager. The new roof looks beautiful and my family has peace of mind going into the rainy season knowing that our roof is sound, and if we have any issues, Rainier will respond due to their strong craftsmanship and manufacturers warranties. I really couldn't have been happier with the process and outcome and highly recommend Rainier Roofing.

He met with my husband and me to discuss what our options were. He inspected the roof and the inside and gave us an informal estimate. He followed up with a formal estimate just a day later.  This was a big job removing a chimney, patching the roof, replacing subfloor, and building a new wall.   Once they were able to start, things moved very fast but surprisingly cleanly for this large brick structure being torn down. Also, Ben, one of the main crewmen on the project, was quick, clean, and very quiet. I had to keep my animals in the back of the house and was able to work out a system for potty breaks. Very helpful.   Once the removal was done, Yuri brought in the subcontractor, an amazing drywall guy, Vladimir, and his crewmember Alex. They did an amazing job paying the sheetrock, mudding, and painting. I cannot stress that enough. They also were quick, clean, and efficient and did not mind me asking too many questions about what was going on. I would recommend Royal Roofing to Friends, Family, and Strangers.

I had several other roofing companies give me estimates for replacing the roof in addition to Dave at Ascent Roofing. The other companies were either really expensive or really quick with their estimate and not very thorough or explanatory with their estimate. Dave was able to come out and provide an estimate within 4 days of my initial call. He listened to my concerns carefully and had immediate solutions to the leaks that I was having, unlike the other roofing companies. He paid close attention to my roof and took the time to explain why the existing shingles were blowing off and why I was having a leak along the back of the roof. He explained how he pays his employees hourly and not by the job so that they do a good job and the materials they use in detail. After talking with Dave, I was very confident and comfortable with his team's knowledge, experience, and capabilities. In addition, the cost for replacing the roof was very reasonable and included a 10-year guarantee on the roof. I chose Ascent Roofing to replace my roof and they were able to come out in 3 weeks and get the job done. It took them about 2 days and it looks great. I didn't even have to be there while they completed the work and they left the site clean. It is a year later now and the roof is still holding up great. I am very happy with Ascent Roofing's work.
