A Fell's staple! Cozy, sports bar/inn vibes with plenty of beers and bar food. Especially love coming here during holidays when they decorate the whole ceiling. Loved their crabby taters - the half size was already a generous portion. Awesome, friendly service! Seems like the staff really enjoy working here and interacting with customers.

Honestly, Ale Mary's is so slept on, but it is frequent and loved by the locals in Fells point and upper Fells point. They recently revamped their entire menu and changed a lot of their specials - for the better but their most beloved item is the crab dip and that has stayed the same. I think the crab dip here is probably the best in all of Baltimore! The service is fantastic. My friend wanted a mango crush, but they had run out of the mangoes so then the bartender literally walked outside (they have a cutie outdoor seating) to ask us if he could use mango vodka and orange juice instead and honestly, it was such a lovely crush. They are known to decorate their bar for the seasons right now because football is about to start. They have it decked out with cute football cut outs and then the best time to go is of course during the winter when they go all out for their Christmas decorations. Such a big fan and out of all of the bar food, I feel like the food at Ale Mary's might be the best?

We stopped in around 4:00 on the Sunday before Christmas and waited about 20 minutes for a table. Everything we ordered was excellent! The Holy Biscuits are to die for and the seasonal specials were so fun. Service was friendly and prompt, which was even more appreciated given the huge crowd! The Christmas decorations are fantastic and create the perfect festive mood!

Super cute Christmas decorations! It's sort of a small bar so it gets packed but we were able to snag seats at the bar. The grilled wings were delicious! Give it a try for some holiday cheer!

A great place to grab a casual dinner with friends. Last time I went was their Thursday night steak dinner special - for $18 including sides, I was very happy, it was delicious. Ate outside and the service was super attentive!

This bar has truly captured the magic of Christmas, right here in Baltimore I visited Ale Mary's for the first time last night, and I'll definitely be back! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff and amazed by the incredible attention to detail in the holiday decor. The walls were lined with classic movie references, glitter, ornaments, and twinkling string lights--everything felt so festive! We came for their free ornament decorating event, which was a blast! Plus, I'm excited to hear they have even more free events lined up this month! For drinks, we tried the Mistletoe Espresso Martini and Peppermint Mocha--both were delicious and affordable (our total for two drinks was just $21)! They had a slew of holiday themed food options too, I'll have to go back to try those If you're in Baltimore this holiday season, be sure to check out Ale Mary's!

This was my first time here and a "Regular" next to me, named Melanie, was so rude, homophobic & racist with her comments the whole time I was there. She was screaming across the bar to some other woman and the man she was with. If this behavior i tolerated at this bar I will not be back. Thankfully the meatloaf on special was amazing and the service was good. The Christmas decor was really cute and much more than the videos I saw.

Updating my review after going during Christmas time! Ale Mary's continues to deliver. It was PACKED, I'm glad we came super early. The free Christmas crafting was such a fun way to spend time with a friend. The hot toddy was perfect for the cold weather and the cookies were a nice touch. The French onion soup was divine and the mac was good. The service was great, we were always being checked in on. Overall, can't miss for the holidays!

They have such fun decorations up for the holidays!!! Would 100% recommend to check it out to get you in the Christmas spirit. It was pretty crowded but service was still good, I had the eggnog and while not very creative (soco nog and fireball) the decorative glass still made me so happy, and it was delicious! Will have to go back on a normal day!

Came here for the Christmas pop up bar. We simply walked in and it was super convenient. The drink I ordered was delicious and the service was great. It looked like a great spot to get some food or visit during its normal operation. The venue was quaint and well kept with a warm feeling.

Ale Mary's is a holiday wonderland! Their festive decor is a MUST-SEE - it's truly magical. And to make it even merrier, try their signature Leg-Nog - it's absolutely delightful! A perfect spot to get into the holiday spirit. It's a small venue tho so sometimes hard to get a drink at the bar.

Very busy but the bar service was fast and friendly considering a Friday crowd. Love the Christmas vibe. The Leg-Nog was heavy in the fireball but still good. Wish we could get food but it was too popular

We used to come here a lot for brunch. We decided to return to see if it was as excellent as it had always been, and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent. They made a point to celebrate my little brother's birthday by putting a candle in his french toast. it was my first time getting items that are considered lunch fare and I enjoyed them. Immensely the wings were tender and sauced perfectly. The Caesar salad was pre-dressed. The dressing was tasty. I'm excited to return to enjoy my traditional brunch items the mimosas do not disappoint.

We were impressed with the portion sizes as well. The fish and chips were delicious. The fish was super flakey and not dry. Even the crawfish etouffee was super tasty. When we arrived back at our hotel bar they were about to close and suggested we check out this place. We followed there advice and were so glad we did. Upon entry they appeared to be closng down and said they go with the number of patrons to determine their closing time. This worked out greatly as once we arrived and only two other patrons were at the bar a swarm soon followed. Our favorite bartender is Laura. I noticed a huge difference in her making my drink and the other bartenders who only ask for your order but give no suggestions, do not offer to allow you to sample something on tap, and the potency. I soon realized that I will only recommend this place to others if Laura is the bartender. There were times we wanted to try something new, she asked a few questions and handcrafted us the perfect drink. Her personality was amazing, drinks were strong, and she kept people wanting to drink and be apart of the banter. If Laura isn't there I am not going. We went two nights in a row and the second night we were there we brought with us a couple we met who were in Bmore from Cleveland for a cruise. They enjoyed the place but it was missing her personality, patrons, and the drinks weren't as handcrafted, special or potent. now for the food. This is by far a pub with the best food I have ever tasted. I ordered the fish and chips that was an amazing fleshy piece of cob hand breaded and a jambalaya that too this day I am still dreaming about with its chunks of chicken breast, sauteed small pieces of sausage and gravy like texture filled with flavor that was bold and packed a welcomed punch. My partner had some type of irish sausage dish and loved it. We will return to visit Laura this spring for our next rendevous here for sure.

My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.

In March 2018, my girlfriend at the time wanted to go here as there was a group of people going for St. Patrick's Day. We went here along with her young pre-teen daughter. They almost weren't going to let us in, but my g/f assured we just needed to eat, and they said since it was before 9 PM, it'd be ok. I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie, a solid option here. After eating, there was dancing on the dance floor and a couple of people I knew. Then, my g/f went out to the dance floor. I'm sitting at the table with my g/f's pre-teen daughter who fell asleep. It was awkward for me especially since someone asked me if she was ok, and I said she's just tired. We left sometime in the midnight hour. But the fact of the matter was that my g/f shouldn't have put her daughter in that situation. On a positive, her daughter graduated high school & is still alive today in 2025, so her mom did something right. The other time I was here was in February 2023. I was tempted by the club but the turkey isn't the style I like, otherwise I could easily see myself trying more of the menu because it's clear the cook was skilled. The rail ginger beer and rum was inexpensive and well made and their selection of beer while currently missing a few key dark beer items was not bad at all, they included some draft beer options as well outside of the standard light beers and National Bohemian. All in all I would see myself returning when I head to the area for Ottobar events to try more of their food menu, just remember to get there somewhat early before the kitchen closes at 10.
