I hosted my birthday party here and couldn't have asked for a better experience! The bar was packed on Wing Wednesday, but they reserved tables for my friends and me and made sure we were taken care of all night. Jocelyn was an amazing bartender, and the owners, Mike & Brice, jumped in whenever things got hectic -- you can really tell they care about their place and their customers. They even went above and beyond by putting my name on the sign out front, which was such a fun surprise! It's the little things like that that keep me coming back. The perfect neighborhood spot: fun, welcoming, and the kind of place where the owners aren't "too good" to show their own faces. Highly recommend!

It is a classic neighbourhood Irish Pub with a great selection of pub food and drink options, a pleasant atmosphere, many locals, and friendly, attentive staff. It's worth a visit if you're In Canton. We walked over and got caught in a downpour. The barkeep made us Hot Tea Toddies that warmed us up (I'm too cold-hearted for it to have warmed my soul). The Beer cheese is to die for; I would ask for that at a last meal). We split the pretzels with the beer cheese. I had the Fat Tire Cheese bomb with the house Beer Cheese (add the option fried onions and grilled peppers). The fries were perfect. My hubby had the Stout Mac and Cheese (with bacon and the house bread crumbs)- the best Mac and Cheese in Baltimore (and it doesn't even have crab) We are lucky we walk 1/2 a mile before and after visiting so we can indulge here. If you drive then you will have to come back again and again and try everything over time.

This place has AWESOME innovative cocktails. I go to a lot of speakeasy's and cocktail lounges in and out of the country and i really like the creativity they have. I will say they make their flavorings, syrups, etc., in house so they do run out of certain things so that said if you see a drink you'd like to try order it first. Their Desert Rose is delish and their Old Fashioned is on point. I prefer it with a rye bourbon though. Their prices are comparable to other places that serve drinks like this so don't get sticker shock.

Cute neighborhood joint. Went for drinks on a Friday and had some food too. The Brussels were memorable! I'd like to try more of their specials.

We always enjoy the food, drinks and service at The Canton Local but tonight I found my new favorite dish! I mostly eat fish and love when places offer ahi tuna and this particular tuna dish was delicious and very healthy! We always get the pretzel bites here which were delicious as usual. We always have great service here and really enjoy chatting with the bartenders.

    Reuben Special $8 on Thursdays

This was my first visit to The Canton Local. When I arrived, I was greeted and asked to sign in (per Baltimore City COVID regulation). There weren't many tables inside and the bar stools were separated for social distancing. I didn't order any adult beverages, so let's get down to the nitty gritty. Once I found out the Reuben (my favorite sandwich) was on special, I HAD to try it! Normally priced at $13, it is available for $8 EVERY Thursday. Their version is served on Marble Rye; as it should be in my opinion. The marble rye is thick enough to not get overly messy with the toppings of this sandwich. The Reuben was tasty; not the best I've ever had but I'd get it again. The bread held up perfectly for the sandwich. My only issue was it was warm, but not as hot as it could have been. Maybe it sat a bit while waiting for my side? I did opt for the healthy upgrade with the roasted veggies instead of fries which was an additional $3 (stated on menu). Those veggies were sublime. It was cauliflower and green beans but they were perfectly roasted. Not too soft. Overall, my verdict was 4 stars. Food was very good; I'll have to come back for some Jameson next time...they had four varieties! I think The Canton Local proved to be a good neighborhood bar! Be sure to give them a visit!

We loved every single thing. The bangers and mash might have been our favorite, it was super flavorful, and they even included some mustard to go along with it. My husband ate most of it. We were impressed with the portion sizes as well. The fish and chips were delicious. The fish was super flakey and not dry. Even the crawfish etouffee was super tasty. When we arrived back at our hotel bar they were about to close and suggested we check out this place. We followed there advice and were so glad we did. Upon entry they appeared to be closng down and said they go with the number of patrons to determine their closing time. This worked out greatly as once we arrived and only two other patrons were at the bar a swarm soon followed. Our favorite bartender is Laura. I noticed a huge difference in her making my drink and the other bartenders who only ask for your order but give no suggestions, do not offer to allow you to sample something on tap, and the potency. I soon realized that I will only recommend this place to others if Laura is the bartender. There were times we wanted to try something new, she asked a few questions and handcrafted us the perfect drink. Her personality was amazing, drinks were strong, and she kept people wanting to drink and be apart of the banter. If Laura isn't there I am not going. We went two nights in a row and the second night we were there we brought with us a couple we met who were in Bmore from Cleveland for a cruise. They enjoyed the place but it was missing her personality, patrons, and the drinks weren't as handcrafted, special or potent. now for the food. This is by far a pub with the best food I have ever tasted. I ordered the fish and chips that was an amazing fleshy piece of cob hand breaded and a jambalaya that too this day I am still dreaming about with its chunks of chicken breast, sauteed small pieces of sausage and gravy like texture filled with flavor that was bold and packed a welcomed punch. My partner had some type of irish sausage dish and loved it. We will return to visit Laura this spring for our next rendevous here for sure.

The stew was fantastic and really hearty. It warmed me up almost as much as the flight of... tea did. I couldn't resist getting dessert. My wife saw they had black bean soup and a pork special, so we decided to stay and were seated. Since our last visit about a year ago, they've made some changes. The seating has been updated, with a second bar added along with high-top tables and booths. The space looks very nice. Our server came over, took our drink order, and we asked for a bowl of the black bean soup. When he returned, my wife asked how the pork special was, and he said it was very good, so she ordered it. I ordered the cod fish and chips. When the food came out, everything looked good at first. Unfortunately, the fish and chips were very greasy -- it seemed like the fries were placed on the plate to soak up the grease from the fish. My wife's pork dish was worse. She was given two slices with connective tissue running through them that were so tough she couldn't even get a fork into them. The other piece was also extremely tough and difficult to cut, and the gravy had no flavor. When our server finally came back to check on us, my wife showed him the pork. His response was simply that he would let the manager know and take it off the bill. There was no offer to replace the dish or bring her something else to eat. After that, we never saw him again. My wife eventually asked another server for tea, which a different server brought. Later, another server came by to see if we were finished. I asked how much the eggnog was, and she quoted the price for a bottle, said I just want a glass, she said I'll get you a menu I explained to another waitress I just wanted a glass. Eventually, I got it -- though I asked for it without ice, and it still came with ice. At that point, I just drank it. The best thing was the bean soup. Overall, this was not a good meal and honestly the worst experience we've had in the 10+ years we've been coming here. Between the food quality and the lack of follow-up from our server, it was very disappointing. It will be quite a while before we return.

In March 2018, my girlfriend at the time wanted to go here as there was a group of people going for St. Patrick's Day. We went here along with her young pre-teen daughter. They almost weren't going to let us in, but my g/f assured we just needed to eat, and they said since it was before 9 PM, it'd be ok. I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie, a solid option here. After eating, there was dancing on the dance floor and a couple of people I knew. Then, my g/f went out to the dance floor. I'm sitting at the table with my g/f's pre-teen daughter who fell asleep. It was awkward for me especially since someone asked me if she was ok, and I said she's just tired. We left sometime in the midnight hour. But the fact of the matter was that my g/f shouldn't have put her daughter in that situation. On a positive, her daughter graduated high school & is still alive today in 2025, so her mom did something right. The other time I was here was in February 2023. I decided to have my birthday party at Copper Canyon in downtown Silver Spring. Then, a few of us were willing to hang longer asking what I wanted to do. The servers were friendly and prompt, and cheerfully gave us separate checks when it was time to pay. But, unless you like your beer warm, the drinks may disappoint you. My beet salad with goat cheese and grapefruit was beautifully described on the menu - enough to seduce me to order something that was not an Irish classic - but was not enjoyable enough to finish. The fries were good though, and the fried fish that others ordered looked to be perfectly done. So perhaps I'll come back when I'm in the mood for some classical fare. Too bad about the beer though.,,
