I brought a dress here to have hemmed before a wedding I am attending and now have to purchase a new one to wear as it's been completely ruined. When I tried the item on at home, the hem is completely crooked and the slip is sticking out from underneath by half an inch in the front. When I called to ask for some of my fee to be returned or a correction to be made I was told to bring the item in, which I did, and was then accused of bringing a completely different item in. She said she did not recognize it and would not do anything resolve the issue and walked to the back ignoring me entirely. All this in addition to the pants they hemmed with two different length legs, which I was also told was my fault. Absolutely avoid coming here as they clearly don't care about the work they are doing.

However, I would like to share my experience regarding other aspects of their service. I sent two suits, each with its own suit bag. When I scheduled the return delivery through Uber, I saw the pickup photo and noticed that one of my suit bags appeared to be missing. I called Star Laundry Club to ask about it, and my concern was initially somewhat dismissed, which was fair since I had not yet received the delivery yet (maybe the photo was wrong). However, when the Uber arrived, I confirmed that one of the bags was indeed missing. I called again, and they did find the missing bag. I was initially told that a staff member would deliver it on the same day as my call, but I did not receive it that day. When I followed up the next day, they apologized and was instead asked if I could pick it up myself. I politely explained that I did not think it was reasonable for me to make a separate trip to retrieve an item that should have been included in the original delivery, particularly when I had already tipped the driver. I believe the inconvenience of correcting this mistake should not fall on the customer. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for the suit bag to be returned. The laundromat is owned by a family- I primarily see the son, but at times, his father is also present, which has always left me with an icky feeling. His father STARES at patrons so intently, it makes you feel very uncomfortable. He polices you as you do you laundry and keeps the bathroom locked. You have to ask for permission to access the bathroom to wash your hands in between loads. Tonight, I entered just before 7 pm and there was another young woman attempting to do laundry. I say attempting because the washer machines she was using read "Error. No Sink Fill". She told the older man about this four times and he did nothing to resolve the issue. After her telling him multiple times, he called his son who came downstairs and moved her loads to other machines that I was about to fill. Due to the delay in getting a washer, my clothes were still drying at 8:50 pm since I had to wait for her to finish using the smaller washer machines. Shortly thereafter, the older man went to the breaker panel and turned all of them off stopping my clothes from drying. He then proceeded to turn off all the lights and told me to get out. I informed him that I could not pack my clothes in the dark and needed light to pack my still damp clothing. He STILL REFUSED and I proceeded to call 911 because I was standing in the dark with a very odd old man. The officers (one male and one female officer) arrived and the laundromat was still dark. I explained the situation to the police and he was still belligerent. After packing my clothing, the police and I attempted to leave the laundromat and he stood in front of the door. They had to yell at him to move out of our way so we could exit. This entire situation was completely avoidable and unfortunate as I'm choosing to share this disgusting story. They need to repair their machines, and better yet, STAY OUT OF NEIGHBORHOODS where you clearly don't trust your clientele. At the height of the pandemic when many were withdrawing their support of Asian-owned businesses in Boston due to a false and perceived connection with the COVID-19 infection, my household and I still continued to do laundry there while others sought out other laundromats. The treatment I experienced tonight makes me deeply frustrated and sad. I will be withdrawing my support from this business and letting other know. I am owed a refund, but most importantly, an apology.

Some machines give you the ability to pay with your credit card but the dryers are solely coin operated. There is a machine to exchange cash for quarters. Pricing is pretty standard. I only spent $17 for 3 loads of laundry that included my comforter, 3 sets of sheets, bath towels (6), and 1 large bin of clothing. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I got there 30 minutes after opening and there was only 1 other person in there.
