Well, I needed some stuff dry cleaned, and dropped off 2 shirts, a two piece suit. I am more careful with my nicer clothing, so there were no grape juice stains, but there was some staining from normal wear and tear, as well as some wrinkles. The items were returned clean, and expertly pressed without a wrinkle to be found! There were teeny tiny waves on the back, but nowhere near a wrinkle, and seemed like something unavoidable in the pressing process. Another thing they do which I really like, and did not see at the three other dry cleaners where I have been in the past is that they use plastic clips to keep sleeves together. This makes sure that there are no extra wrinkles that can come about from the shirt just hanging there with the sleeves down the side. As for prices, while I could not describe them as being cheap, I can say that they are pretty much on-par with what other dry cleaners charge. Service was professional, but depending on who you get, perhaps a little gruff, which I don't criticize small businesses for. I will also say that It would be nice to be asked when I need the item by. That way, rather than having a time given to you by the computer, if you need an item sooner, you could specify it. I recently moved to the area and tried a few different cleaners after finally landing on this spot - not only is their dry cleaning fast and easily affordable, but the quality of their services is perfect. Also, they clean Uggs! The Uggs are sent out to another servicing company and take about 2 weeks, give or take a few days depending on the day you drop them off. The cost to have the Uggs cleaned is the cheapest I've found, not just in Waltham, but the surrounding cities and towns. On the dry-cleaning side, I found their rates to be very affordable (men's shirts are $2 and pants closer to $10). For that price, I use shirts maybe twice before getting them pressed again. On the alteration side, the owner (Helen is her name, from what other reviewers have said) is awesome! I've gotten trousers, jeans, and blazers tailored to perfection (anything from opening the waist to making the inseam shorter to making pants 'skinny fit'). The rates might be slightly more expensive than elsewhere, but the quality more than makes up for the price difference. I've seen wedding gowns and tuxedos in there as well, so I know she's trustworthy with even the finest of fabrics. Bottom line: go to Royal Cleaners. I had my wedding dress altered here and while it took a few visits and fittings, the price was insanely reasonable (brought in the hem, added cups, brought in the shoulders, made the cleavage less pronounced). I've come in multiple times with other pieces, and there's always been a fast turnaround time with no issue. I use royal for my drycleaning needs and for the occassional shortening of a pair of pants. (OK I'm short- I bring MOST of my pants here). The only thing which brought me here is that it's close to my house and has a parking lot so I don't have to contend with street parking and meters. I've always been happy with my cleaning and so far they have not lost or ruined my garments. I also find the proprietors very nice and for the most part accommodating. As far as costs go- I don't think these guys are cheap on the cleaning front but the pants are usually about 10 bucks which is worth it to me. Hands down the best thing is that they open early and close late. I can always go over before or after work which I love. It makes up for them not being open on Sundays. read more

I think RC is the cheapest, best service you can get in Waltham, its good all around. Now there are places that are more expensive and high end or cheaper and have worse services but this is a good medium. I have been using Royal cleaners for a while now and I've never had a problem until recently. I brought a Dress in to have 6 inches of the length taken off. When I dropped it off the older man was there and he pinned it to where I wanted it hemmed said it would be ready in a week. I went back and picked it up a week later and waited on by the very nice woman who works there. After getting home and taking the dress out of the plastic. I noticed that the dress still looked extremely long. I checked out the hem and it looked like it had never even been touched. I brought the dress back the following morning and once again the older man was there. I explained what happened and he nearly bit my head off. He was extremely rude and was blaming me for their mistake. He was being such a jerk ! Real good customer service pal. There's a very fast turnaround time and they do the dry cleaning on-site as opposed to putting your stuff in a van and sending it to never never land. The customer is always WRONG at Royal Cleaners! I brought in some dark red cushion covers for cleaning; they had stains on them but they were in perfect condition otherwise. When I picked them up, one of the covers had huge white bare spots on it! It looked like acid or something had been dripped on the cover. When I asked, they claimed that it was the fabric itself "coming apart" and there was no possible way they had caused the problem. They agreed to try to fix the damage; when I picked it up again, they had dyed the spots but not repaired the textural damage. Additionally, the cover had been worn around the edges on all 4 sides, like it had really been put through the wringer! Again I pointed out that none of these problems existed when I brought the covers in for cleaning, and furthermore that the spots really looked like they had dripped something on it, but they claimed there was nothing they could do; it was "cheap fabric" that was just falling apart by itself. NB, I bought this couch custom-upholstered from Ethan Allen 2 years ago. If you value your upholstery, do NOT bring it to these people, they will destroy it! read more
