Reviewing bar area only not the restaurant which is fancier. Hard to sit outside as people are smoking cigars and the entire area stinks. Inside it is a nice area, couple tv's pizza oven and a square bar area. Beer options are decent and offer a lighter menu if you like or can order off the main menu. I had chicken murphy which was good, only missing the sausage element to make it great and kick it up a notch. Their cheesy bread is always a nice touch to start your meal which no other place offers in the area. Amazing food & service! Was looking for a local place while visiting the town of Wyckoff & this place exceeded all our expectations.

My friend recommended we go here for our girls night out and I am so happy she did. We went in on a Monday night and the place was fairly crowded. Service was attentive and pleasant. Loved that you get complimentary bruschetta and toasted parmesan bread before even ordering. My friend ordered one of the specialties called Calamari Marinara and I got the Rigatoni in vodka sauce. To clear up the whole Aldo's/Pan e Vino mash up, these two restaurants combined into what was once The Wyckoff Bakery (to us OG's). The bar area is Pan e Vino; the restaurant area is Aldo's. Here's where they offer something unique ~ to honor their long-time patrons who were used to a BYOB style, they allow this, as well as bar service in the restaurant. However, in the bar, BYOB is not allowed. As for our meal, we had two great pasta dishes, one wasn't even on the menu but classic enough they could make it mid-afternoon for us! Went to Aldo's to celebrate a birthday tonight for dinner. All of the food options on the menu were classic yet innovative. I ordered the insalate d mare and shrimp fra diavolo and the seafood was very fresh and the portion was huge. The waiters were extremely attentive and offered great suggestions. The atmosphere is very traditional and classic Italian restaurant, but very comfortable. This spot is a great BYOB option for a nice dinner to celebrate occasions. read more

We went to Aldo's last night to sit at the bar and have a drink and an appetizer before going out to dinner somewhere else. We got a pizza that was very good and a cold antipasto that was average at best. Before ordering, I accidentally hit the edge of the menu into the martini glass which caused the glass to break and spill another drink. The 2 male bartenders where very nice about it and quickly helped to clean it up. After we got our food, while still picking at the antipasto that was close to untouched, the female bartender, knocked over a martini glass which sent glass all over the area and into the antipasto. She took it away and said she would replace it. We had a reservation to get to so we didn't want to wait for that, so we said that's ok you don't have to replace it. This bartender was unfriendly the whole night and spent a lot of it on her phone. When we got the bill, we where surprised to see the antipasto on it. When we ask her about it, she was very rude. In the end she took it off the bill but not with out an argument and a very poor attitude. I don't think I will return to this restaurant because of the way we were treated. read more

This is a large Italian restaurant that has been serving classic Italian fare in an elegant space for over 30 years. The menu features a wide variety of Italian dishes, including homemade pastas, seafood, and meat dishes. Some popular items include the spaghetti carbonara, the veal marsala, and the Chilean sea bass. Aldo's also has a full bar with a wide selection of wines and cocktails. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant, which was full when we arrived, therefore, I had to park on the side street behind the restaurant. This was my first time here for lunch. I was here with family and friends for an engagement party downstairs in the basement where all of the wines are stored on the walls. Looks like they offer a large variety of wines. The two rooms were openly connected. About 65 people attended the party. They served many appetizers including calamari, stuffed mushrooms, clams, eggplant, and pasta. I ordered shrimp provencal for my main course, which I could not eat because I ate too many appetizers. I took it home for leftovers. The appetizers were so good. Every dish was served hot and tasted great. Table service was very good for such a large party. I would return here again for lunch or dinner. read more

came here for a birthday party. was not impressed with this spot. staff is nice but somewhat disregards your requests. drinks were forgotten multiple times & they do not stray from the menu, which I just can't understand, especially when you have all of the ingredients to make what's being requested. i could see if you were asking for something crazy like sushi in an italian restaurant.. but I really wanted a chicken scampi over pasta. I was told they will not make it. I had to ask a 2nd and 3rd time for the waiter to just ask the chef as they had several dishes that had all ingredients available. I was told " we can give you a chicken masala " .. I just don't understand, it's an italian restaurant that is unable to make an italian dish, and of all things something so simple as a scampi sauce lol?.. I settled for chicken aldo, as it was quite similar to my request... which was a garlic oil wine sauce with mushrooms over chicken. they gave me hardly any pasta with my dinner, and a two THICK chicken breast. the mushrooms were not great and looked like they came from a can. I was quite turned off. one of the people in my party ordered a similar dish.. she was given a salad, I asked the waitress " why does that meal come with salad but mine does not?" being that they were from the same menu section ..the waiter responded " because I messed up " .. and then just stared at me for about 10 seconds and walked away. You would think, she would have said " I made an error, would you like one too?" nope just gave me an unsettling stare. then when our food came, I was give the smallest amount of pasta, seemed to be just me though..very disappointing. the sauce was not bad I must say, but the thickness of the chicken was a lot,. the dessert was better, I got the pistachio tartufo which tasted just like an almond bar! 20/10 it was the best part of the meal. read more

Went to Aldo's today for lunch with my girlfriend. The lunch menu was not available and the waiter gave us a dinner menu instead. I questioned the menu because on the website had different pricing for lunch. The waiter was rude and insisted I was incorrect in the pricing and website. I pulled up the lunch menu for him to see and he dismissed it. I was given a dinner menu at 12:20 pm stating it was the lunch menu. Food was not bad but pricey for what was served was subpar. I would never go back mostly because of the rude service received. The waiter pretty much called me a liar and said I copied and pasted another menu from another Aldo's. How many Aldo's are there in Wyckoff NJ! He was a jerk. Don't go there. Uncle Louie's in Franklin has way better food. read more

Brought family for our 62nd anniversary dinner. Each dish was perfect and well done. A mistake in the order was quickly resolved. The groom ordered the Lobster Fra Diablo and he had two huge lobster tails. Grandson had a stuffed chicken breast with prosciutto which I will order next time. All dishes were generous. Came here for an early Saturday night dinner with my cousins from overseas and we were excited since we had frequently dined at Aldo's. Granted we hadn't gone since pre-covid, our experience was terrible. The chicken Francese that was served was awful...chicken Francese should be a butter sauce not watered down vodka sauce. Cute spot - we came here for lunch! We live nearby and have been wanting to try this place. Sat at the bar table area which is a bit more casual than the dining room. They start you out with real good bread & a complimentary bruschetta & melted cheee on bread - soooo good! Recently we enjoyed Zuppa de clams in a tasty tomato sauce & mozzarella, tomato, & prosciutto app - both of them were very large & excellent! For entree's I always get pasta. Had not had a meal from Aldo's in several (4?) years. Was never a super fan but thought it was reliably average. So we ordered takeout tonight to give it a go and were disappointed. Meatballs are very rubbery. Pasta amatricana sauce was oily and just overall not appetizing. The final entree - the Flounder Oreganata - was not flounder but salmon. Wrong fish. Didn't see this until we arrived home and opened the bag. Not worth driving back. Best item? The free cheesy bread. We're done. A variety of local pizza shops do a much better job. Atmosphere was great! Service was ok. I spilled my drink & told another waiter because I didn't see our waitress.... She eventually came & we did already have the appetizer, which was delicious. It was a special with Barrata, prosciutto, tomato, roasted red peppers, arugula drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. We were done with it & she still didn't take our order! I ordered the Margarita chicken & I didn't think it had any flavor so I took my BF's chicken Fiorentine & it was so delicious!!! Really disappointed primarily with the service at the restaurant. I have come here before and have had a good experience, but this time was not as good. Waitress seemed to be extremely bothered by us and acted annoyed every time we asked for something and wouldn't check on us. It was strange because she was pleasant to everyone else she was serving in her station. My family and I are extremely respectful at restaurants and we were all shocked to see the attitude that was given to us. There didn't seem to be any reason for it. Most of the food was good, but my mom did have a hair in her salad which skeeved her and she lost her appetite. I am generally very happy with the restaurants I choose to eat at but this was just not a great experience unfortunately read more

Nice cozy place, wine was good, calamari was good, salmon oregano was a little mushy but taste good, the chicken Marsala was NOT good, I did not taste any Marsala wine in it and was filled with I believe beef broth and had huge onion slices with mushroom caps, it taste like onion soup, very odd and disappointing, they need to seriously fix this dish. I cant see how anyone could call this chicken Marsala. read more

Wanted some good Italian while traveling north, and Aldo's did not disappoint. This was just a 15m adjustment from our trip up north, but was well worth it. Excellent location and unique setting that makes you feel like you've returned to grandmas house for dinner. We visited mid-afternoon, so it wasn't busy and there was plenty of parking. Our waiter was top notch, and even the cook came out to ask how our meals were. Everything we had was exceptional, including tomatoes with fresh mozzarella. Lobster ravioli was velvety. So, normally I don't write a review for a restaurant but I just have to put this out there. My husband, twins, and mother in law went here tonight. We had made a reservation and were excited to dine. Unfortunately, we were brought back outside, upon going in to check in, because there were no available seats inside. Little did I know that we would be put in the outside tent. Now at first, I thought how cute it was, but then I was bummed that we didn't get to have the experience Of being in the restaurant, like we normally do. Covid has gotten in the way of everyone and their dining excursions, so was really looking forward to this one. I tried to be understanding, as I always try to be, and I reminded myself that we are in a different time right now. In any sense, as soon as we sat down, I could feel the cold draft on my feet. Probably not the best time to wear my shoes, sans socks, but how was I to know that I'd be sitting in an outside tent that clearly didn't have the heat situation in tact?! So I did what I thought appropriate, and I told the maitrê d. His response was one of no care and he told me that there wasn't anything that he could do. So now we're two for two. What would follow would be a salad that had, I kid you not, no dressing on it. Even my mother in law commented. We then waited for our dinner, which felt like an eternity. You could figure why. It took TWO hours from when we sat down to finally get our dinner. My twins were so tired soon before our food came out that they weren't even hungry anymore. We figured it would be best if we got the waiter and told him not to bother with their orders, only no waiters were to be found and by the time they came out they were bringing our food. To top it off I waited for the silverware and no one was around to bring it to me so I started to eat my delicious shrimp dish with my fingers... This night was such a disappointment. You'd like to believe that when you spend three hundred dollars on a meal, that you'll have a great experience. The kicker? We were so disappointed with the progression of the night, that I asked to speak to the manager. As a business owner, client feedback is imperative to me staying on my a-game and I would hope a restaurant owner would want the same. His response? I'm so sorry and I wish you told me sooner. That's it..... As a person that always wants people to be happy with their services, I would have offered SOMETHING. His comment of not being able to do a thing was not what I expected. All in all, great food but I think that until I get this bad taste out of my mouth, we will not be dropping a few hundred dollars for this type of night.
