I have owned Vionic, Sofft, Ecco, New Balance, Asics, etc. and every pair I own gives me calluses, is too tight, or make my feet hurt. I have gotten orthotics in the past too. I received a coupon in the mail so decided to check them out. Upon arrival, I was acknowledged and greeted by an associate and he said to let him know if I needed assistance. Unfortunately, owning comfort shoes typically means you sacrifice style. The selection is more suitable for mature or conservative clientele. The associate informed me they will carry more stylish shoes in the fall. I may return, but am not hopeful I will find anything stylish and comfortable given my past history with shoes in general.

While we waited, we chatted about how much he enjoyed working at Merrell's Outlet Store and how they treated their employees well. She hadn't sent the receipt but I headed out to the Merrell outlet in Arundel Mills to see if I could exchange the shoes for a size up. I didn't have a bag either but had the shoes in a Merrell box, and I was feeling pretty awkward about it as I entered the store. There was only one sales associate and I wanted to let her know right away I'd walked in with the box, I'd not picked it up since I'd been in the store, but she was occupied with another customer. So I stood anxiously near the register, hoping I wasn't tagged as a shoplifter. Luckily, I was not! As soon as the sales associate freed up, she immediately came over to me and asked me if I needed to make an exchange. I said I did, showed her the shoes in the box, and she made a face, telling me they were on clearance (I knew this, my mom got a good deal which is why she bought me three pairs of shoes) and may not be in stock. Fortunately they were! We walked over to where those particular shoes were on display and she immediately plucked an 8 out. She handed them to me and I tried them on, pleased with the fit! Zip, bam, boom, she did the exchange, put the 8s in a bag, and I was soon on my way home! So, I love all the shoes my mom bought, though I didn't explore the Arundel Mills Merrell store. What I can say is I was totally happy with the customer service I received in there today. When I'm due for new shoes, I'll definitely go back!
