Comfy chair while ringing up items
Linh Y.

My dear friend and I had a lovely early dinner at Pho Rex that is just a few doors to the right of this ALDI. Afterwards, we walked over to ALDI for some quick shopping as my friend wanted to pick up some meat that was on sale for her husband and I wanted to see if they had any good fruits. She ended up getting some fruits, eggs, dairy products, and a few other items, but not the meat LOL. They ran out of the meat... of course they did... anything on sale usually doesn't last long on the shelf because it's a HOT item! First come first serve folks. I said to my friend, let's find another ALDI so she can buy the meat for her husband. She said no... if they don't have it here, then her husband is not getting any meat... she's not driving all over the place for it, but he can LOL. Alright then! This ALDI's location used to be where Trader Joe's was located. For some reason, it looks bigger now than when Trader Joe's was here. I'm guessing there was another shop that was also used in conjunction of the Trader Joe's space for this ALDI. Anyway, this store is bright, clean, and quite spacious. Some aisles were organized, but not all. Items are still in their boxes with the top or side of box cut open... very smart approach... I can see it as a time saver so they don't have to unpack the items and place them on shelf individually. It's not as pleasantly presented on the shelf, but it works. Prices are comparable to the Wal-Marts and Targets prices. Staff is nice. Interesting enough, this is the first and only store where I see cashiers seated on a chair while they scan the items and place them in the shopping cart. Thanks for caring ALDI! Tip: If you want to use a shopping cart, you'll have to bring a quarter with you because ALDI shopping carts require a quarter for use. If you're okay in carrying your items in your arms and hands, then you can leave your quarter at home LOL unless you're lucky to find a cart that already has a quarter in it. Thank you for those who are paying it forward!

When I shop here the store is very clean! It's easy to go through each aisle. I enjoy the weird stuff aisle of items you can buy that are like gifts as these change often. The cash register people here are always nice! Best thing is the prices are lower than your regular grocery store. If you go on the right day and time, you can get 50% off meats, chicken and fish. Definitely recommend!

My last two visits here weren't good. 2 weeks ago I came to get some strawberries and majority of the strawberries look like this. The workers excuse was "they didn't go threw them thoroughly" this is unacceptable. Then today I go in asking for avocados I approach a worker asking where they are and he tells me he doesn't know and abruptly walks away not really acknowledging what I'm saying. Maybe it was what he was listening to on his AirPod. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. On my out ,The same worker is flinging boxes everywhere trying to get them In a cart. He missed and hit me with it. I stopped to see if he would notice but didn't. whatever he was listening to in his AirPod must have been very important

I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of my neighborhood Aldi only to discover their grand opening was yesterday. WTH? Where was the advanced ad or the spotlight or the corner sign dancer? Seems they are being very discreet about their opening. I only found out because I happened to think about it and checked out their website. In any event, I was excited to see their goods. After I checked out a shopping cart for a quarter, and entered the store, I immediately spotted avocados for 38 cents! Then I went over to their baked goods section, and with the exception of their bread, not impressed with the selection of pastries. Moved on to their cheese section, very impressed. Coffee section, OMD! They have Coffee Bean Tea Leaf coffee at a great price! Wine selection smaller than I expected, but very reasonable prices. Their brand of Winking Owl wine is super cheap, but life is too short to drink crappy wine. I upgraded to some Italian wine for a few more bucks. I also grabbed a take and bake pizza--not bad. And some no name English Breakfast Tea, bottle of honey, fiber bars, and jalapeño hummus. All of this set me back about $30. Not bad. At the cash register, cashiers sit as they scan, and toss all your goods back in your basket--even avocados, grr! Then you go off to the bagging area and DIY. Not sure I could do all my regular grocery shopping here, but they were very generous with coupons. I get $5 off every week in November, so I may try to at least get my staples here every week this month. And perhaps this place will grow on me. In the meantime, it's just ok. And I must say I don't like the fraudulent cereal boxes, it's disturbing and messes with my childhood memories.

Does this Aldi sell their whiskey?

I always look at their alcohol selection when I go, and I've never seen any kind of whisky

Downtown Upland Farmers Market - 9/21/24 I couldn't resist, for 5/$10, these are a bargain, I regret not buying more

We also went to Dyvonne's Cookies and Bake Shop for a cinnamon roll and cookies - delicious We bought some jewelry and trinkets and observed the animals at the end: a pig, a duck , a Small pigmee goat and some Chickens. We also grabbed some homemade salsa from Valente from Tatiana. Ample parking along the side street. We spent a bit, but got many things that we wanted- a great day.

The footprint of this farmers market isn't huge, but I feel like it has a lot of the vendors/ eateries/ things that I've come to expect at a farmers market. At each of the stands I visited, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I ended up getting some produce, a baguette, some candy, and some honey on this visit. The items were delicious and loved the baguette - using it as my bread at breakfast and making a sandwich at lunch. I definitely would love to comeback and buy other items when I'm sure I know what I want to do with them (when cooking). It can get pretty busy in the area, but I was able to find parking a few blocks away. It gave me a chance to walk through the downtown area and check out some other stores as well.

Strawberries are great but service is not so great.... I called over a week ago to make reservations for u-pick strawberries and on the phone I was told that it is $5 entrance fee and can pay $15 for a bucket to take strawberries home. I asked if we can eat strawberries with the $5 entrance fee and she said yes and if we wanted to get the bucket after they might even deduct the entrance fee. She was very polite and nice. Today when I went in to pick, the girl helping me said we could not eat strawberries with the $5 entrance fee and only those who buy bucket can eat strawberries, and the $5 entrance fee is for those who go in just to supervise..... She showed me a little paper saying every employee gets the same instructions for pricing which only lists $5 for entrance and $15 for bucket. I asked her if there are more details written anywhere since it doesn't specify about eating, and the information being shared to me is so different but she said no, she was becoming angry and kept insisting if there is any misunderstanding that it is in my part for not understanding correctly.... I told her I wished I had gotten the name of the girl I spoke with before and asked what her name was, and she refused to give me her name she said she doesn't have to share her name..... owner cant know who is giving right or wrong information without a name... I just wanted to post this for the owner to see so they know there is different information being shared by the employees and it would be nice if there was more official information somewhere. Strawberries are great! And if it wasn't for today's service experience I would give them a great review! I'm giving low stars for owners attention and clarification.

This looked like a big ol' farm store and from the second I saw it, I was pretty darn excited. This large store features ample parking, tables outside, and a petting zoo that didn't actually have any animals, but maybe they were just inside. The shop itself is full of baked goods, clothing, drinks, and literally everything else you can usually find at a farm style store. I was super tempted to pick up a bunch of chocolate when walking around, but since it was pretty hot outside I had to settle for the farms own Orange Juice and a big fat rice crispy treat with chocolate and pretzel on top. The orange juice was OH SO refreshing on this hot day and the rice crispy treat was really good as well. Overall, The Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store is a great place to stop and pick up a few things. I really liked the two things I picked up and I can definitely see stopping back here the next time i'm in Pomona!

We were interest in seeing what they had in store, since we've never stopped by before. We parks on the grass field and walked towards the vendors first. We bought some fruits and vegetables from the student farm stand (what a steal!) and it was a great feeling knowing that we were supporting the Cal Poly Pomona students. The produce was grown and picked by the CPP students. We also were able to purchase honey from CPP; the honey was produced at the school and jarred by students. There were about 8 food trucks. After we took a walk around, we went into the farm store. It was packed with people and the line was snaked around the interior of the store. I've never seen so many varieties of tomato plants or this many people interested in purchasing plants. We didn't walk away with a tomato plant this time around, but perhaps next time. It was lovely experience.
