Great prices! I love their items! I recomnend this place to shop. We enjoyed shopping here with my kids.

Four stars. I love Aldi. You can find foods, wines, merchandise, etc. here that you cannot find in any other local grocery stores. Customer service is very good - the same or better than other grocery stores I have visited. Have you been to the Oxnard Walmart Supercenter lately? I try to avoid it. I'll go to Aldi anytime over Walmart. The complaints about paying a quarter for a shopping cart. Are folks too cheap to put a quarter into the slot? You can get change back. The same folks likely are complaining about not getting free grocery bags. Complain, complain, complain. Some folks are unhappy with themselves, and their lives. Paying a quarter helps to control shoppers from stealing carts by taking them home with us. If Oxnard/Port Hueneme did not have the poor income folks like it does, then we wouldn't have the problems with stealing of carts. I'm giving this Aldi store (and actually, all stores in the chain) 4 stars because of the lack of selection. Unlike others who complain, I am grateful that this new store exists. If I can't find what I like, I will shop elsewhere, where I can find what I am seeking. read more

I am horrified!!! I came here to check it out. First of all...they make you pay a quarter to use the shopping carts.....you get it back but are you freaking kidding me?! I don't have change on me all the time! I don't carry a purse, I never have cash on me...it's just completely inconvenient in a time when there are credit cards and Apple Pay so it's a completely relevant critique. So then I walk in...all the food there is not fresh, knock off, super processed, and looks like I dunno what exactly just not anything I want to eat or subject my body to. I ended up just buying some cheese its and cookies for my husband but then to top it off, the staff was super rude. One guy said he was closed without putting up a sign. The next lady over just threw my stuff in a cart after scanning, didn't make any eye contact with me or even acknowledge me and just kept talking to her coworker...it was just rude. Ok so it's cheap but if you want to put that cheap stuff in your body then you get what you pay for! Not what I expected for how much it's been hyped up. I won't ever go back, no way. Ignore the naysayer reviews. Some incredible values can be found here for the selective shopper. Can I say cheese, crackers and nuts? Yes, the inventory selection is limited compared to a "supermarket" which is the point of Aldi's business model. A majority of their proprietary store brands are literally half the cost of major name brands and of equal quality per my sampling. The store layout is lean, efficient and logical as compared to the competition. A welcome new addition to the neighborhood to replace the now defunct Fresh & Easy chain. As for the complaints regarding the refundable $.25 shopping cart fee, give me a break cheapskates. read more

Definitely NOT what I expected... first you must pay a quarter to access a shopping cart-you get the quarter back that's fine but if you are shopping with two kids you may not be able to take the cart all the way back up to the front to get that quarter back if you need to put them in the car. (Luckily I was shopping with my husband and older son) walked in and the store was much smaller than I had anticipated but that's also no big deal. The only items they had available were knock off brands, I wish they had at least the one regular brand to choose from as well. The off brands always taste funky. You literally could shop at the 99 cent store for the exact same products. The thing that bothered me the most was how the checker threw all of my items into my cart. My son was scrambling trying to bag it all. She even threw items on top of my hands I kid you not. I will never ever be returning to this store again. Extremely disappointed. read more

Last week I went to Aldi to pick up groceries.I started feeling sick from my diabetes medication at the check out stand.The clerk was very kind to me when I asked her to watch my paid groceries.I went to lady room to gather myself-upon my return the clerk still had my groceries and asked me if I needed any more help.This clerk kindness will have me going Aldi again read more

Not a fan! First waited and waited for the person in front of me to figure out how to get a cart. Finally the lady behind me was waiting to return her cart she gave the cart to me. Very limited. Do not like going grocery shopping to then have to go to the grocery store because it is very small and limited. I did not think the prices on the meat and fish were that good. I had just purchase wild caught fresh salmon for 7.99 a lb at Vons and her it was $8.99 pre packaged. I won't be back. read more

I like this grocery store. Good selections and very good prices. I see a lot of healthy choices here. Organic, non gmo, etc. You bag your own groceries, which is aok. I do think, however, that the checkout process needs some improvement. I've been to an out of state Aldi and it flowed much better. I'm not saying that the checkout is slow, it's just not as effiecient as it could be (less work for all of us). read more

Prices are good. The portions are good. But I love this place for having cookie butter and really cheap meat selection that's incredibly juicy! They even have some name brand food items. I shop here a lot. read more

Not a fan. The prices at Aldi have creeped up from the time they entered the Socal market....they once had the best prices by far (but always had mediocre quality products and a lack of stock). Now, they are clearly beat by Winco. The products here aren't the best quality, and they almost never have enough staff for the cash registers. They don't stock everything you need. Here my experience during their grand opening. I went around 2pm and there was a line at the front door. Waited about 10 to 15 minutes. I was offered a 20oz water bottle during my wait. By the time I reached the front door, I was offered a free reusable bag. Once I'm inside, it has the vibe feeling of trader joes. I walked around the produce section and I noticed that the prices for organics are way cheaper then at whole foods. The aisles are big enough for 2 shopping carts to go through. Most of their products are Aldi brands however there is a few high name brands you find while walking the aisle. The checkout is complicated then any other supermarket. Since I wasn't using any shopping cart, they brought an empty cart to load my items on top of the basket. I used my reusable bag to pack my groceries while the cashier loads another shopper groceries on the bottom. Across from the cashier is a large counter. Here is where you can bag your groceries without causing a backup. Overall, small store with decent products but a complicated checkout process. read more

Aldi is a pretty solid grocery store if you're a price-conscious consumer who's looking for some of the best deals possible in groceries. Most of the people who are or will end up complaining on here do not understand the concept. Aldi is a discount grocer--a very heavy discounter. They achieve this through scale and efficiency. Aldi is all about efficiency. Want a cart? Be prepared to deposit. $0.25 cents for it. When you return your cart, you'll get it back. This helps to reduce the need for their staff to collect carts, saving labor and money for you as a consumer. You'll bag your own stuff. It's best that if you're buying more than a hand full of items to borrow a cart, because you'll hold up the lines if otherwise and find yourself fumbling too much. Food and quality wise: you'll find a limited selection of just about everything but this is also to keep costs low. If it's your thing, great--buy it. If not, then there's plenty of other things you might like here. They offer organic selections on many items and have many unique items across the store. I found a mango granola cereal that's pretty bomb in my opinion. So while this store isn't for everyone, it certainly offers a unique alternative to the traditional grocery store experience. read more

Store was clean but merchandise did not want to make me buy it . First most of the brands I had never seen and second everything was all over the place with no organization. The employee seem to not want you there since they where to busy doing other things and it seemed you where in their way . Perhaps I expected to much . 3 stars because they have lots of variety and lots of vegetarian/vegan friendly things! I don't mind the 25 cent cart thing. I am glad the people working there get to sit.. they are always multitasking! However, the people working there can be rude sometimes. It's expected because I get it... long day of working and most ppl can be rude but I just wish it wasn't taken out on innocent shoppers lol... besides that I will gladly take a cold/flustered person checking me out! I like the self sufficient feel of bagging and taking my own groceries out so it's alright. read more
