So glad to have found these guys on Yelp. Once I read that they had the sweetest strawberries in the area I just had to make my husband jump on the 126 off the 101 for a quick stop. I was so worried they'd be closed but nope, there were there, at the stand with the most beautiful strawberries, accepting cash & Venmo. They were not super expensive compared to our farmers market. Only $3 more dollars extra for a half flat and well worth it. And yes, those strawberries were super sweet, as described. I will defintely be stopping by again when passing by during the peak season. It was also super helpful going to their Instagram page and seeing that they were open that day in their stories. Thank you for that, Terry Berries! read more

Terry Berries is the real deal. This sweet little family-run stand sells some of the juiciest, most flavorful strawbs in the area. At $8 for a 16 oz box, they're definitely a splurge compared to grocery store prices--but once you bite into one, you'll taste the difference. So much so that I can no longer justify buying store bought ones that have the flavor profile of an actual wet paper towel. The strawberries here are a special Albion varietal; known for being large, sweet, and bursting with actual flavor. The woman who co-owns this place is incredibly warm and welcoming. You can tell each berry is picked with care and love. Upon purchase, she hands you a cute little card with tips to keep your strawberries fresh for as long as possible. I bought 3 boxes, followed the tips, and kept mine fresh for well over a week! They accept credit cards, Venmo, and cash--so super convenient. So happy we made it to TERRY BERRIES in Ventura before this years strawberry season ends! They grow Albion strawberries which are farmed in Santa Paula. In my opinion, they're sweeter than the berries we've purchased from the Farmers Market and more recently at the Strawberry Festival. They remind me of the berries I've picked and eaten in Japan; The Albion strawberry has a conical shape and a very high sugar content, giving this berry an extremely sweet flavor. There is no strawberry picking here, as you have to have a permit to do so. It is a red shack right off of Telephone Rd, which also offers green beans and avocado's. Customer service was great! Very friendly and personable, especially after they saw our beagle, Summer. It was worth the drive up from the valley and I look forward to enjoying this half flat of strawberries for the week! $8 per basket or $31 for the half flat. read more

I've heard about the famous Terry Berries from years back, but never got around to purchasing them. They are pricey compared to grocery and even the other local farmer market prices, BUT I now understand all the high praise. First every strawberry in the 1 lb. $8 box is ripe. Usually at local farmer's markets, they place the beautiful ones on top, but the unripe larger ones are all on the bottom layers. And they don't allow you to switch or move strawberries around or else ppl would pick only the ripe ones! I guess these are Albion strawberries, and they're quite large and sweet. Their berries are sweet as they're picked ripe and sold that day. Grocery store ones (primarily Driscolls) have to be shipped long distances so the strawberries are hard and not quite ripened so they'll travel better. If you're coming from the East, it's kinda a hassle to access the stand and you have to make some funky U-turns in the neighboring apt. complex because Telephone has meridian dividers. read more

Literally THE BEST strawberries you'll ever have in your life. I am blown away by the size, beauty and exceptional taste, every single time I eat strawberries from Terry Berries. My first encounter was fun. Viva Patricia(supposedly the sweetest of 'em all) sells out quickly so i settled for the Glory and Gaviota. Terry Berries is about three minutes off the 126. We were coming back from Six Flags and wanted some Oxnard strawberries. Service was fast and easy. Yummy strawberries, but cost $6 a container. The entire container contained sweet, perfectly ripe berries. read more

Strawberries are here and they are huge. My sister took me to the strawberry stand today. They had two varieties of strawberries and were happy to give samples of each variety. Both were sweet and delicious. My sister tells me that depending on the harvest, they can have over a half dozen varieties. The strawberry stand is visible from Telephone road and has plenty of parking in their gravel lot. read more

Hands down the best place to get strawberries. They have four types and all of them are delicious. The workers are so helpful and knowledgeable. I was here today and as my workers have mentioned before that this place has the sweetest strawberries in town. I have driven by many times, but they are not open til 11:00 or so. Anyhow, I was here today and I bought $34 worth of strawberries. They taste terrible. No taste to them. I went back and return them. They wouldn't refund me for them. I told them them that they are rip off people. Bad customers service and left all the strawberries there and walked off. I'll take my business somewhere else. Just terrible! I would gave you zero star, but yelp wouldn't let me. Hello William and thank you for responding back to my review. I was there and I believed your father was the one that sold the strawberries to me. After leaving there and returning back that same day twenty min after, I believed your mother, Martha was there and she didn't seem happy. The both of them didn't seem to be much help knowing that they have been in business since 2003. They didn't say what you are telling me now. Also Edgar, your father never mentioned that there's no refund after leaving there or that there was five different types of strawberries to try. He only gives me one type. I just think of it as a lesson for me to learn. You could keep my $34 and think of as a donation to your small business. read more

Living in Ventura my whole life, my family and I have been long time customers here. Not only are the berries huge and bright red, but they are also incredibly delicious! Super sweet and juicy, fresh and perfectly ripe. It is close to home, so frequent stops are a no brainer. It's hard to find places that consistently have delicious food but Terry Berries has been delivering great berries since my family started buying them from here when I was in high school. Bonus points for being locally owned and family run, super friendly people! Make sure you don't miss their annual 'jam day' either, more strawberries than you can eat! read more

Viva Patricia are their BEST strawberries!!! Each one you ate tasted as if it was dipped in sugar...so sweet and delicious! Viva Elisa are our second favorite, but definitely not as sweet. I can't wait until next season! They sure give Oxnard a run for their money in strawberries. read more

I drove all the way from LA just to get a flat of strawberries from Terry Berries! It's unbelievable how delicious their strawberries are!!! They are so juicy and full and red all the way through! I've had plenty of other strawberries in my life and none will ever compare to theirs!!! Also everyone is so nice and friendly and really care about their customers and will take time to answer any questions you have, even about how strawberries are grown and maintained! We grow and sell sweet/delicious strawberries that are picked 100% ripe from our field. Terry Berries is a strawberry stand that was started in February of 2003 as an offshoot of Terry Farms, Inc. The Terry family has been farming in Ventura Country for over 125 years ever since Joe Terry left Portugal and came to California to farm in 1890. Terry Berries strawberry stand is run by the Terry family with the help of neighbors and friends!

I stopped by this evening to grab two bundles of sunflowers. They were gorgeous and only $5 for a bundle of about 4 or so. Bought two bundles which made for a lovely display. I also appreciate that after you purchase your flowers here you can get the long stems cut at the secondary register. Great find and I hope you'll come support this local stand.

That one has closed, but thankfully, Frog Creek Farm is a wonderful "find" for us. The lavender full blossom season is short, so you need to check on them via social media to find out when they are open. Instagram has current info. It's a delight to pull off the Ojai/Santa Paula Road and mosey on to their property. They have so much to see, including their cutting garden of seasonal flowers, some places to sit at picnic tables in the shade and even swing (i.e., hammock), the gift shop, and the lavender rows - the main event. Larry provides a great introduction at the small stand adjacent to the flowering beds. He describes the location and how to identify the five kinds of lavender they offer for cutting. For 2025 pricing - $16 earns you a generous bunch of fragrant blooms. After orientation, you are off with a basket to collect the stems, and scissors to do your own cutting / harvesting. As promised, the plentiful bees scattered away as we leaned in to cut the stems close to the main host bushes. We wandered among the rows and filled up our gathering basket. Back at the stand, Larry tied our haul into a beautiful bunch. We proceeded to the gift shop to pay for our pickings, and I also found a few other items to purchase, including lavender-infused spray which has many purposes. Christel greeted us as we were wrapping up our visit. She filled us in as we asked questions about how long they'd been there, as well as about some of their products. She's as sweet and charming as the farm is. What a lovely place to visit. We'll be putting it on the to-do list next summer, for sure!

Fresh produce? Always hits. Flowers? Stunning every time. Vendors? So friendly. It's the kind of place you come to stroll and leave with a full tote and very happy. Also... the food court deserves its own moment. Artisan bakery goods, fresh juice, and tamales. Do yourself a favor and stand in line, it's worth the wait. The store is bigger and is similar to the Winco I used to visit in Fresno but the layout of the Aisles was a little different which cost me quite a bit more time to navigate trying to find the correct aisles. I honestly won't be coming back though because Winco does still does not accept credit cards. You can use contactless method to pay but it will reject a credit card and the cashier told me they only accept debit cards. This is still greed from the Employees (the employee stock ownership plan) because they don't want to pay credit card fees for use.
