We've been shopping in ALDI Süd's US affiliate ALDI's on and off for years. We like coming here, but always leave wanting more. For some reason, it has never gain the chicness of ALDI Nord's Trader Joe's But ALDI Süd has been working very hard at expanding their brand here in North America. Recently they purchased nearly 400 Winn-Dixie and Harveys supermarkets in the southern U.S. The food is always fresh and their house German specialty brand, Deutsche Kueche is very good with hard to find items. We particularly like their Christmas holiday Glühwein, Weißwurst, Rheinwein and german Spätzle noodles mixes. Now, if you have never shopped in an ALDI's, don't forget to bring a quarter. Seems the original Albrecht brothers had a thing for shopping carts not being returned. LOL. Another German carryover is bagging your groceries quickly. Macht schnell! I follow Bobby Parrish for guidance on healthy eating and he has made several recommendations for items that are specific to Aldi. Today I thought I'd check it out, but upon entering this store I was hit immediately by an offensive odor. I'm thinking it may have been something rotting, honestly I can't be sure, but definitely foul. I found this store to be dirty; the floor was black in front of the produce. Also, the bread I was looking for was not in stock. Hit or miss based on stocked shelves or remotely good produce. I just can't do at a grocery store where I didn't know if they're going to have half of the things I need. I used to go to aldi once a week. It seems it get worse every time I go. I decided to take a picture of cart that cashier keeps throwing food into the cart. Last week I didn't take a picture but she threw meat on top of bread! Today she threw juice on top of box and she threw other things such as not being careful putting them into them. I have come to discover after visiting many locations over the years that this location actually has the friendliest and most helpful staff. They open registers when lines build, which I appreciate because today they only had 2 out of 6 checkouts open. The cashiers actually acknowledge and talk to you and they are definitely more approachable in comparison to other locations. read more

This Aldi is neglected and run amuck! Dont bother with the weekly savings guide the only effort management puts into this place is neglecting the ad by not ordering the product or ignoring the ad completely. This week the ad has a basic salad blend for .79 cents a bag, but in the store its marked at 1.89 and also rings up at 1.89 the cashier refused the discount and with pressure consulted a manager who also said "the price is whatever it rings up at." This store is loaded with blank price plates, its dirty and disheveled. I guess one could expect that from a discount grocer but no other Aldi I have visited is as run down as this Haun Rd location in Menifee. read more

I decided to give Aldi a try about a week ago. I live in a small mountain town and have to drive to the city to buy groceries. I walked through the store and saw great prices so I picked up a few things. Over the past few days I have tried the things I purchased and I have to say I was disappointed. The meat was terrible, the milk seemed heavy like cream, frozen pizza was so hard I threw it out, just to name a few.. I was here with my friends, and we were checking out and the "manager" or whatever she was...quizzed our cashier in the middle of us checking out, which I felt was very unprofessional and then the "manager" decided to double check our id's after we already provided them to the cashier. The whole situation could have been avoided and I'm throughly displeased with the "managers" behavior. This place has a bad customer service. I was there the other day and ready to pay for my grocery and the cashier told me after I put everything on belt which were only 4 items that she is closing the station and will not wait on me. She turned the lights off and put the sign that say " next cashier". She pulled the yellow belt cross the lane and trapped me there. So I asked to speak to a manager, she told that she is the manager with very angry loud voice" and said what are going to do". That manager/ cashier has the worst customer service and shouldn't not work with the public. Aldi claimed they have the lowest price which is bunch of lies. They do not have a big selection, limited selection of meat and poultry, same with the produce. The place is so dark and depressing when you walk in. Try to call the district manger , he won't even take my call to address the issue. Never go there again. read more

To start off i love aldi because of the affordable grocery prices and the aldis dupes are very close! THOUGH i did have a semi negative experience even though shopping is usually a great experience especially when i see my usual products marked down...to be fair it was a busier day than what we've seen before for sure...we went through the regular checkout (always so fast it's great) though i never appreciate all my items getting tossed in the cart one on top of each other (which is why we avoid the cashiers and go to self checkout) but this really wasn't my main issue. Towards the end of the transaction there was no "have a nice day" or "thank you" the cashier just started scanning the next customers items and since i was re adjusting an item in the cart (since it was on top of other items) and i heard the scanning continue i said "oh that isn't ours" and she just gave me a nasty look and then i noticed oh the transaction finished, no words just facing a hand and a receipt. i have social anxiety in general and situations like that make going out a very dreadful experience. A simple "thank you" or anything that would've taken a second to say would've made all the difference. read more

My experience started with not having a quarter to use the shopping cart. Selection is not great but I expected that, but prices are pretty good. Lots of snacks for kids, cereal, and decent frozen food. The checker didn't go out of her way to be friendly. Tossed my produce in cart that I had to pay 25 cents to use. Plus they charge me to buy a bag then I had to bag my own groceries. I just didn't see the appeal. read more

Love this store for a basic grocery run. Only 4 stars because they're small and sometimes they don't have what I need but for the most part, they do and the prices are amazingly lower than surrounding stores in the area. My first experience at an Aldi was back in Illinois. That one was kind of in the ghetto, but the selection and prices were the same. I shop here often and the quality of their products is great. Produce is fresh and cheap. You can even find organic selections for lower than most grocery stores. They also have a gluten free section and a decent meat/seafood selection. Parking is a breeze but on weekends it can get packed. Employees are always nice and helpful. Be sure to bring a quarter if you want to use a shopping cart because it's the only way you can get one unless someone abandons one in the parking lot! read more

Wow, horrible shopping experience today! They took away cashiers for self check, and lines and lines making folks self check! Horrible. What is going on with Aldi? Still terrible restocking and now this. Shameful. A majority of their customers are elderly and they can't lift items for self check. They need to have a cashier always on a register. It's funny as far as pricing and quality are concerned I give them five stars but the checkout has always been a little well unfriendly most of the time. Every once in a while, you get a rare person that smiles or talks to you and that's OK but when you get a person who is pissed off that you didn't bring a cart and treats you like an asshole that's where I draw the line not to mention charging me five times for my half gallon of ice cream and twice for my milk. I've always have a great experience at this Aldi's. The customer service (especially Vanessa) is great and times are stocked up as much as possible. People need to keep in mind that it's not the employees fault if the store is out of items (it's happening everywhere). Today I witnessed a nasty customer complaining to a cashier and I was shocked. We decided to check this place out since we had a $10 off coupon if we spend over $50. I am reviewing a grocery store after all, so I'll just give you a break down.... -Shopping cart is a quarter. You put in a quarter and get a cart, you return the cart, attach your lock to the previous cart and you get your quarter back at the end of the trip. Makes it easier to not have shopping carts all over the parking lot. -Clean place, kind of reminds me of Food 4 Less, with less popular brands of the most random things. -Selection of organic stuff were available, but for organic produce, not so much. I don't buy anything but organic produce for my family due to having two young girls. -Prices are decent and cheap for what they do have available. I found organic chicken breast for $5.89, not sure how fresh it is, but we'll give it a try. -You ring up your groceries and put it in your cart, then you move to the back wall to bag your own groceries. -Bring your own bags, otherwise it's $0.10 for paper bag and $0.15 for plastic. Not a bad concept, it just needs to have more options as far as healthy foods go. read more

Cheap prices and good deals. Terrible service. The cashier totally yelled at me and embarrassed me in front of other customers screaming that I didn't pay for the cart and the carts are 25 cents to use. Another customer was going to let me use her cart and he made me give it to him. Stating I didn't pay for it. I was only using the cart to take my groceries I had just purchased to my car and was planning on bringing it back. I will never be shopping with Aldi again. As a customer who typically spends $200-$300 per week for my family of 5, I'm sad to say I'll never return after today. I shop everywhere without a mask. Ralphs, staters, target, etc. never have an issue. I'm seven months pregnant and recently deemed high risk, so I assumed going into Aldi wouldn't be an issue. Especially after this plandemic has been around for TWO YEARS. You'd think they'd have a brain like any other store. I was literally chased around by several power tripping employees. Telling me that I needed a mask or they'd deny me any service. I said I was high risk pregnancy, I kind of need, you know, clear OXYGEN. I then said fine I'll put it on my face, I HAD IT PULLED DOWN AROUND MY CHIN. And she thanked me. AROUND MY CHIN. Not even covering anything. How does that make any f*ing sense. Such idiots. The Asian lady that was working cashier 6 today 10/7/21 at 2:45 needs to know how to handle when a customer comes in that has children that are in the cart. I have never had an issue for years until today. She decided to fill up the other cart, when clearly seeing I had children in the front of the one I had. After that she came and told me I needed to take her out of it cuz "she needs a cart ". On 11/17/2020: I have been purchasing Veggie Burgers for months at Aldi, just realized that the price marked, supposedly on sale at reduced prices, rang up at the checkout at original price. Spoke to several people, they corrected the error for only one item. Be careful Aldi's prices rung up at checkout are higher then what they display in the shelves. They don't seem to care nor they took immediate corrective action. Contacted corporate and I was treated very condescending and said to go back to the store. read more

Aldi is starting to become my "go to" for groceries. They have great prices and speedy service, what's not to like. Yes, they do "charge" you a quarter to "borrow" the shopping cart but all of the carts I've used have been in good working order (try saying that of Walmart, Stater Bros or Vons carts) and walking back to return the cart is much appreciated extra walking (don't they say more walking is good for your health?). Bagging your own groceries isn't a new thing for me as Food4Less has had their customers doing it for years and for the better prices, I don't mind bagging my own groceries. Don't get me wrong because I like shopping at Aldi, & I like their products. However, today was the third time they've messed up on charging for items. In the past I've ignored being charged for more items of the same thing than purchased or charged more for one item, but the amounts were small and not worth going back to get the difference. Today, I got to the car, noticing I was charged $10.29 for toilet paper that was marked as $6.49. I went in and she (not the cashier, perhaps a supervisor) said no you were charged correctly in a dismissive manner. So, I said, "Let's go look." Arriving in front of the T P, she said, "Oh, the sign is on the wrong product. She went back to the cashier and said, $Give her $3.50 back cash since she paid in cash. The cashier kinda looked at her and she repeated, "Give her $3.50 back. As people were waiting, I didn't argue that $10.29 less $6.49 was $3.80. 30 cents is not that big a deal but it would have been nice to get, "A sorry for your inconvenience."
