The cashier didn't know what or how to proceed. She called a supervisor or someone up to the register. This person, blonde, bleached hair with a heavy accent, looked at it and "Is this a Humana card, we don't take that". How ignorant and rude and classless. I'm a grown woman, intelligent and have class, why in the name of anyone would I be using an insurance card to pay for groceries. I told her it's a Red Cross card!! She doesn't know her job, is not professional. Replace her.

Not to mention @11.00 quart of cream or the 8.99 eggs. When I can, I try to avoid this place because of their price gouging. Is it possible to have nostalgia for a damn grocery store? One that's owned by the evil Amazon…read moreempire at that, but it is what it is and here I am, updating my review for this Whole Foods over 13 years after my first one. I appreciate the wine and delicacies (née cheese) section as well as the fridge section here to Mid-City. I much prefer the parking in Mid-City to Uptown and that's a big deal, as in, even if I'm in the area and need to stop at WF for produce, oat milk, wine and nostalgia, I'll more often than not talk myself out of it because I hate that parking garage that much. The last time I stopped in, I had taralli on the brain and knew that I wouldn't likely find that at most Rouses, no less the far more conveniently-located food co-op that's in my neighborhood. And of course I found a decent variety, as well as a bunch of other goodies my regular Mid-City location does not have. Back to the parking lot. It's bad enough, people. At the very least, bring your cart back inside so that the next person doesn't have to move it before parking, which blocks the entire area and annoys the other cars waiting to park. You know this happens. Don't be that person.

Don't go when the catholic school is getting out - the entitled parents use it as their personal parking lot. This I do blame the store for allowing to happen. Overall, the prices are high, you have to check expiration dates and the majority of the associates (with the exception of a couple of old-timers that are wonderful) are extremely rude and clueless. The one star is not for the store it it's wonderful employees…read more One star is for buying a tray of inedible finger sandwiches. Let's just say, it was an off day. The meat sandwiches were fine, however the "salad" sandwiches were not good. They were very heavy on the chicken and egg salad. I brought them to 22 hungry college students; they are not picky. Worried the sandwiches would not be enough. After the class gathering, I looked at the tray of sandwiches. Hardly any were gone. I asked one of my students about eating the sandwiches, and reluctantly she told me that no one could eat any of the non-meat pieces. As I cleaned up the room, I noticed half of the garbage can filled with sandwiches. On my way home from Baton Rouge, I decided to give Breax Mart some feedback. I went to their website and sent a comment about my experience. That was the first week in November. Around January 1, I sent another. No response. No phone call to more information. Whomever monitors the comments did not do their job. i was not going to send them another message. I thought, "Maybe they'll read it here." My entire experience was not up to Breac Mart's usual standards.

Rouses, in particular, lacks a strong dessert section and doesn't offer great pies and dorignacs their prices are higher than Draft Nuts. I enjoy looking around their deli. They have an array of delicious looking prepared foods and quite a few options to choose from. The meat section is filled with fresh looking seafood as does the produce section with their veggies. Some store items are a little bit on the pricey side but when you check out the sales on their app, you'll be sure to find some savings. Oh and that bakery! My goodness, they have the freshest and tastiest desserts and baked goods you could ever imagine. While I don't eat a lot of sweets, I do have a sweet tooth craving every now and then. I enjoy the slices of cakes, especially the lemon blueberry. It has depth of flavor with a twist of healthy thrown in for you because of the lemon and blueberries LOL!!! The store feels like a little grocery boutique. It reminds me of the Westside Market in NYC. They are smaller than most chain grocers but is packed with tons of great items.
