This store is very close to 310 Luling bridge. They have a fresh made desserts and rotisserie chickens in a deli with boars-head meat. They make sandwiches to order. Yes they have KING CAKES!! Yum ! I would definitely go again it's a wonderful option for people who live in Hahnville... just across the bridge . The store is clean . Deli service was fine.

Very disappointed with my recent experience. I ordered a tray of finger sandwiches from this deli…read morefor an event, and they were terrible. The sandwiches were extremely dry and had a strange taste that made them inedible. I ended up throwing away an entire untouched tray, which was a complete waste of money. When I called to speak with a manager, I was placed on hold for about five minutes before a young employee answered and told me the manager was "busy in the back" but that she could help me instead. I explained the issues with the sandwiches and that I was throwing away the entire tray. Her response was simply, "I'm sorry," followed by essentially nothing else. No offer to replace the product, no refund, and no concern for customer satisfaction. When I asked who the manager was, I was told one manager is Mason and the "big manager" is Angelle, but Angelle only comes in twice a week. The entire conversation felt unprofessional and dismissive. To make matters worse, when I picked up my order, employees in the deli area were openly talking and laughing about something rotten in the cooler, discussing how bad it smelled and who was going to clean it up--all within earshot of customers. That is not something customers should have to hear while purchasing food. Between the poor food quality, lack of customer service, and unprofessional behavior, I will not be returning.

Gambino's is one the most popular, time-tested king cakes in New Orleans. They make 'em fresh and…read morestack them high with lots to varieties to choose from. Very convenient location on Veterans with easy parking and no lines. It's too sweet for me, but that is how most king cakes are. Incredibly thankful that they were still making them the day after Mardi Gras (they were the *only* one after I checked out 4 other popular places) so we could take some on the flight home to friends. The king cake also tastes great with a very slight heating in the microwave, it softens the dough and enhances the flavor.

However, this review is about customer service. I took my sister-in-law in during this Mardi Gras to buy her first real King Cake. (How does that happen? She's in her 50's!) They didn't have lemon (!), so we settled on Bavarian Creme. Bad move. Credit where credit is due: Quick check out even though there was a solid line. The first two bites we each took that evening we were taken aback. Tasted like rum was added to the creme. We had seen other boxes marked that alcohol was used, but this one wasn't marked this way so we were comfortable buying it. We both laughed at "who puts rum in Bavarian Creme? New Orleans!" But we now had a cake we would not eat. The voice message I left the next day went unanswered. We gave the cake away to some young guys my husband works with. She picked up an apple King Cake on her way home, but I'm good with taking my King Cake business elsewhere. And if the argument is there wasn't rum in it it just tasted like it, then someone should have called to say so. (It was still an unpleasant flavor for a Bavarian Creme.)
