We shared a bowl but goddamn should have gotten our own! It was sooo good he wanted to come back to get another bowl after! This spot gives the OC/SGV pho spots a run for their money. The broth is so flavorful and def cooked for hours! This is def the best thing we had in Orleans! Still thinking about it and would happily eat it again in the hot humid summer weather! Do I dare say I like it better than the ones in the states!! Yup, I do! Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself!

Hands down it's the absolute BEST king cake I've ever tasted and trust me, I've tasted dozens. So, when I found out they were going to have mini king cakes for 4th of July, I had to get one. Made it there about 7:30 am, line was wrapped. By the time they opened at 8, they had already given out all available tickets. These are high demand. This time, the crawfish pies were just coming out so I tried one of those. The dough was a bit sweet but flaky. Inside.. was interesting. There was crawfish of course and there was a vegetable, I can't make out which one. The pie was a different flavor than I'm used to. Sweet and Savory and I tasted like there was a bit of Italian dressing or something in it. I'll try a meat one next time.

Daisy Dukes has a great concept, attractive location, decent location, and some of the best hot…read moresauce I have ever had. All those things combined couldn't overcome the mediocre food and slow service I experienced. If I were one of the other randos who have reviewed this place, that would probably be enough of a review. I am highly suspicious of their legitimacy so I will make sure and be a little more descriptive. I am a breakfast loving lunatic. I prefer my breakfast joints to be more traditional than modern fancy pants. Daisy Dukes is slightly more fancy pants that places I normally frequent, which is odd considering it's named after super short jorts, but it is causal enough that you don't need to dress up or anything. The breakfast menu is kind of all over the place. There are a few omelets, but no traditional western omelet. To me, it seems that offering lunch and breakfast at the same time makes both meals suffer. I hate brunch which could make me biased, but I was hopeful for more traditional breakfast offerings. If you are more of a fancy breakfast person you will probably not be bothered by this fact. I ultimately decided on their Cajun omelet which promised hot sausage, cheddar, onions, tomatoes, paprika, pepper, and parsley. It contained all of those things, but had issues. The first was that it was very dry. I'm not sure if this was an issue with it being overcooked or something else, but omelets should be a little more moist. The next issue was the lack of flavor. When I think Cajun, I think of flavor. It may be ok to call something Cajun and sell it to tourists in the FQ with their lack of LA taste buds, but here it is false advertisement. I drenched in hot sauce which improved it considerably. Speaking of hot sauce, this is an area where DD shines. Their house hot sauce is a blend of Tabasco peppers and Habaneros. It is phenomenal. If you know anything about me you know I love hot sauce on almost everything. Their hot sauce is really stellar. If the issues I listed about my omelet were the only ones I experienced, this would probably be a three start review. Unfortunately the service was also pretty awful. The server was friendly, but she seemed far too busy to serve us effectively. Ordering took far too long as did getting drinks, refills, etc. When the food was delivered it came out at different times which seemed odd since the restaurant didn't appear that busy. There was a car show going on outside when I ate here so I am not sure if that is what made the service suffer. I'd estimate half of the tables were open when I sat down, but maybe there was something else going on I didn't see. But service really was not good. Would I go here again? Maybe. I say that because I do like supporting local breakfast joints. Based on this experience will it be my go-to spot? Negative.
