Well this sucks! Literally just got home & sadly I can't return it bc I wasn't given a receipt. 1st Aldi trip was a fail

Finally, made it out to Aldi to see what kind of bargains will I score rather than hitting up my local grocery store. They have a nice selection of certain fresh products and other things but I can tell it's one of those hit or miss places. Really, it's based on what they get delivered but it's worth shopping with Aldi 1st before going where you know you'll find certain brands and paying full price. If you have the time & have an Aldi nearby it's worth a trip. They had a nice variety in cheese's; WIN-WIN! Unfortunately, you'll have to double check real good on what you purchased besides just checking the expiration date. A block of cheese that I purchased was moldy inside under the wrapper. Which at the time of purchasing, I only looked at the expiration date; not thinking I would have to try my best to look under the foggy texture wrapper to find mold. Thankfully I bought 2 different types so I was still able to work with 1 for my dinner. My only not so great experience was when paying and bagging my stuff. The cashier was not the friendliest and when asked if I wanted to buy a bag I politely told him I had my own and waited for him to slide my stuff over so I can start bagging it. No, instead I literally was reaching across in front of him, his face over the barcode scanner to bag my stuff. 1.) I do not mind bagging my own stuff I actually enjoy it. 2.) Why would you not slide my stuff across so that I wouldn't have to be reaching in front of you to get my stuff? Pandemic or not it's just weird. I even looked at him "Like are you serious right now?" and he was so nonchalant about it. I realized I never did get a receipt when I realized I had moldy cheese. I just told him to have a nice rest of his day and left.

This is a kind of store Compton needs in the town center. They have veggies and fruits. The place is clean. You go in get your stuff and you are out. There is plenty of parking also.

Once you select your ingredients, they cook it right in front of you. I got one plate spicy and one plate regular and both were absolutely delicious. The noodles were thick and buttery, the sauces were amazing, and everything worked so well together. I also have to mention the service because it was absolutely amazing. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted, walked through the menu, and offered help on how everything works. He let us know everything is made fresh and was genuinely so kind and welcoming. He made my dad and me feel comfortable, welcomed, and even had great conversation with us. Definitely try this place out. I will for sure be back! Absolutely loved it.

I stumbled across this Mongolian and Chinese combo spot and it definitely hit the spot. The Mongolian beef was thick-cut and tender, and the orange chicken was yummy (a little too saucy for my taste) but you could tell it was freshly made to order. Everything stayed hot even after my 10-minute drive back to Long Beach, which says a lot.

No matter the name, this is my go-to spot for Japanese groceries and prepared food. The parking situation is actually pretty easy and flexible since it wraps around the entire building, so you can usually find a spot without too much hassle. Inside, the selection is great. You'll find a wide range of authentic Japanese ingredients, snacks, and ready-to-eat meals that actually taste like what you'd get in Japan. One underrated highlight is the sushi restaurant upstairs. It's legit and a great option if you want a sit-down meal after shopping. Overall, this place has been a staple for me, and it's one of those spots worth supporting. If you're looking for authentic Japanese food and groceries in the South Bay, I definitely recommend checking it out.

Unfortunately, the shopping experience has some frustrating issues. Some self-checkout machines don't accept cash or coins, and often there's no register open at all, leaving you to scan and bag everything yourself. Why come here if that's going to be the experience? Just go to Whole Foods. They offer Amazon discounts and much better customer service. Prices are on the higher side, and staff at checkout provide minimal assistance. When I asked about cash, one employee simply said, "The machine does not accept cash," with no apology or explanation. For the prices you pay, it's disappointing that basic checkout convenience and cash & coins acceptance for self-checkout machines are NOT consistently available, especially compared to how much effort goes into the store's presentation.
