I like to shop here. I just wonder why not use the empty boxes from stocking the shelves for pick up deliveries.. Great way to recycle.

The older cashier lady with glasses has an attitude, doesn't great anyone and was rude. I got $30 cash back and asked for $1s and $10s and rudely said she didn't have any. When she opened the drawer I saw lots of $1 in there! She didn't even make eye contact with me. Why apply for a job if you're going to hate it, lady should have stayed home with that attitude! read more

Terrible customer service. The shockers ignore you and play like they do not know English and refuse to talk to you. And don't get me started on the restrooms. You'd catch an infection just by breathing the air. Judging by the color, this waste has been here for some weeks. read more

I enjoy shopping at Smart & Final. I'm surprised at the reviews on here about this particular store. I find it refreshing to go into a store like this and am happy there is one in this neighborhood. Many chains unless they are Hispanic do not come to neighborhoods like this. So for me I'm good. There's security. The store is clean. The parking lot is clean and there are shopping carts. First of all can we give Smart & Final Associate Ricky a big SHOUT OUT ! He made my day I was planning to make my husband a birthday cake, and looking for cake mix . Ricky asked if I needed help and showed me of all the additional icings, toppings and sprinkles !!!! he suggested if I wasn't a fan of crunchy sprinkles, to go for the softer sprinkles (pictured in the pink label) ! So I came to purchase hamburger bread , I paid and came out of the store and realized the bread had mold. This store has been my go to when it becomes to me purchasing things like this. My mom & I went to Compton S & F to purchase 10 lb bag of leg quarters for $7.90 by Best Value company. We made this purchase on 10/09/23 and returned them on 10/10/24 because both bags were rotten very badly. Before going to the cashier to check if they were still selling it and they were. I had them check the back and they brought out more boxes and I had the open bag which was just as rotten as the bags we purchased. They had five boxes of this meat and the manager said we'll have to get credit for these boxes. If you still see them on the shelf report them food inspectors . I work for the County and will get the correct authorities to contact because is a regular thing for them of selling old food to customers. Also, my mom was over charge for the honeydew she purchased for .99 lb, but they charged her $1.19 lb. This added up to $2.01 overcharge. Please check receipt and before they start registering your food, put all your food on the conveyer belt first so you can pay attention to what they're ringing up. Just tell the cashier do not start until you all food on the belt since they can't be trusted. I told them they're going to get sued for food poisoning. I wouldn't surprised if they're still selling the meat, knowing that most people will not bring it back for a refund. Because happens often telling by the reviews their refrigeration system is probably bad and they have lazy slow workers. I had to start going with my elderly mom to this store because they wouldn't bag her groceries and put it in the basket. She is over 80 years old. What a shame only if all stores use the blue print like Trader Joe's. This a sad store full of bias and self-righteousness. read more

I'm not very happy with this market. We went to buy some meet for Thanksgiving. We bought ground beef that it's package looked very good, though when we unwrapped the cover from the meet. Have seen this store but never went inside, after all Smart & Final is Smart & Final. There is one about two blocks from my house and I have walked there several times. There is a small Buffet across the parking lot that I visit regularly and was headed there when I remembered a sale item in the weekly advertisement. I thought this was a good time to have a look. Didn't expect much, as I have already said Smart & Final. I went through the front door and stopped. I thought I was lost or had entered a different dimension. The area was very well organized and clean. Saw a fruit and vegetable section that looked like it had been used in an advertisement. It was beautiful. Well stocked and arranged neatly. Then I discovered the section that has things that I am better off without. Dispensers of almost any kind of nuts, seeds, and candy that you can imagine. Even corn for popping. Cereal by weight. You put it in a plastic bag. I was looking for my sale item and didn't see it but there was a lady wearing a nametag that must have seen the "lost look" on my face and asked if she could help. I told her what I wanted and she took me to the asile and shelf where the item was stocked. Fortunately there was one left at the back of the top shelf. She didn't hesitate, and climbed up the shelves (Don't tell the boss) and got it for me. The lines were full but the person on the express line was very quick. Got my things with a minimum wait and out the door. This store has no comparison to what I am used to at a market and I will definately go back read more

I was having a very emotional day & was not putting up with ANY bull crap.. I had been looking for an item that i needed asap. The other S&Fs were sold out. I was hesitant about calling to see if this location had it in stock as I have experienced workers lie about not having my request(too lazy to look for it). Over the phone I told Diamond what I was looking for. When he came back to the phone (after a very short hold) I felt he was about to lie to me like others had in the past. Dimond proved me wrong. Not only did he tell me my request was in stock, he confirmed it was the correct item by reading the description verbatim & with a positive tone of voice. He even told me the color of the box! When I arrived the lines were crazy long however that's to be expected at 7:pm during the week. The line moved extreamly quick. The cashier was as a sweet as pie considering the dirty looks she received from impatient customers. There seem to be a great deal of team work going on also. I asked to speak with Juan to complement Diamond and the cashier(can't remember her name) but he was out to lunch so I'm leaving a review. I come here pretty often, its my neighborhood market. Most of the times I have ever come here when the cashier is bagging my groceries, I feel the need to speak up if i see they are bagging my food with out care. Sometimes feeling guilty about calling them out for it. But today while paying SHAY the cashier, not only was she careful while bagging my groceries she was also courteous and efficient. If she was having a bad day I would have never known. She definitely made my shopping experience worth coming. Why is it that smart and final no longer helps you if you do not want to pay for a bag? I notice they just push the food items towards you and you either bag it or put in cart yourself. saw elderly lady with a lot of groceries and she obviously had arthritis. Checker ignored her struggles and began checking next customer. I had to help her put her heavy items in cart. And checker still ignored what was going on. So disappointed. I was there Friday at approximately 11 a.m. There were 3 checkstands open with extremely long lines in each. I got in the one with the shortest line. When I got close to checking out I noticed the cashier(Tabitha) using her cell phone. The line I chose was moving very slow. When I was checking out I asked her what she was doing with her phone. She told me two of the customers in front of me had rain checks for items they were purchasing, and the only way to calculate the correct price was to use the calculator on her phone. This caused a great delay in checking out. One would think that in this age of modern technology there would be some type of way to calculate figures right on the register. I shop a several different stores, have used rain checks in the past and have never had this experience or even heard of it. read more

This is a great store and the night manager is very attentive! I come here a few times a week and I'd have to say the cashiers and the security guard do an awesome job! Their produce always fresh! And best of all they keep this store neat and clean, I stopped shopping at other stores and come here exclusively due to their wide selection of products! This place can be a brutal nightmare when you come in at the "wrong time". I try to be here after I drop off my girls at school early morning or late in the afternoon right before dark. Not enough check out lines open and the ones that are, they run super slow. When this location was Ralph's, I never had any issues with check out. I was in out and on with my day no matter what time during the day it was. I was happy when it was Ralph's, they had consistently good service. I have to hand it to them, I do prefer and feel safer at this S&F than at the one on Central and El Segundo. This one is bigger, cleaner and has a wider selection of groceries, beverages, disposables and items in bulk to choose from. I only hope that they improve their check out process real soon. read more

This is thee BEST GROCERY store Compton! Although the they've only been open for a few days, they're produce is immaculate. They're meat selection is fresh! I'm impressed with the level of service I received which was 10 star! I hope the community appreciates this store! I found my Japanese ginger dressing here! Went in yesterday and it was extremely hot so I brought my dog in with me. He was just in the cart not barking or anything, you wouldn't even notice he was there unless you looked. Was just coming in for milk and leaving. The manger or whatever she was, was not only rude but inconsiderate. She asked me to leave and when i questioned why, she couldn't give me a straight answer. I love this store. First it's down the street from my house, and it's the only smart n finals in Compton. It's clean and I love the whole street signs theme in the store which is really cool. They have a variety of goods l, plus not everything is in bulks so it's like your getting the best of both worlds. I will be a frequent customer for sure. read more

I was at Smart and Final store today, I picked up two half a gallons milk from shelf and both containers had expired on March 27 and today is March 30. It is appalling that Compton store (Compton Blvd) is selling expired milk to it's customers, this is wrong. I told the cashier but it didn't seem to be important, shame on this store. read more

This Smart N Finals is absolute TRASH! Went in for a simple raincheck. I noticed that everyone else recieved one but for some reason I asked for one they weren't going to "put their hands on it". I waited in the 10 items or less lane and waited for almost 20 minutes because the cashier Jasmine wanted to act stupid and not send someone or look for a price a customer needed. Instead she decided to argue with the customer about a remark he made. This made the CUSTOMER go to get the price tag himself because the service is TERRIBLE! 25 minutes later when it was time to ask for a raincheck, the cashier came at me with an attitude and "no we're not giving anymore, I was told not to so I'm not". Like dude seriously show some class because in all this is your job! She went to the manager and the manager said, "no I'm not giving her one because she's not my customer" The MANAGER said that. I mean shouldn't all customers be your customer and YOU should be in charge of making sure everyone has a good visit? Never coming AGAIN. read more
