Given the location, this place actually delivers. It has fresh produce and meats. They even have fresh tortillas being made for pick up. This place is well kept and organized. There is really nothing else you need. Food, water, Alcohol, meats and everyday resource necessities. Bathrooms have a cipher lock. Workers will not provide you the code but will escort you to the restroom and open it. Security is present in front of the entrance. To exit, you must go through the cashiers, regardless if you are purchasing or leaving without an item for purchase. Compton is notorious for many things. Its like day and night from the outside to inside. Keep in mind that there is a metro station nearby. There are many rift rafts surrounding the area. This Superior is exceptional for sales of good. I recommend if you are nearby and in need to grocery shop. Prices are cheap and fair. Employees are helpful, as long as you dont give attitude. Again remember where you are at. Be kind and courteous. My family has been shopping at Superior Market in Compton since we moved here 5 years ago, but sadly the quality of this store has noticeably declined over the past couple of years. My mom recently purchased smoked turkey from this location, and after cooking it, the taste was foul and clearly not right. Food quality and freshness should never be taken lightly. What's disappointing is that it feels like management no longer cares about maintaining the standards customers deserve. Just because people live in Compton does not mean we should accept poor quality food or lower standards. There are hardworking, educated homeowners and families in this community who absolutely know what quality looks like and expect the same level of respect and service as anywhere else. When you come to superior groceries, they have different variety of selections than other grocery stores, especially Mexican products they carry the most out of all the grocery stores. The shelves are always pretty stocked and so is the produce and lately this location is pretty good with the cashiers before, it was always a huge line because they would only have a few cashiers open, but now they have most if not all cashiers open all the time so the lines are pretty fast. read more

I think i like the location better than the ones i have been to in Long Beach. I was here recently hanging out with one of my cousins. We stopped here to get some food for a barbecue/Slash barbecue we were throwing down. I love these grocers, We need more in Orange County. Anyhow we bough a bunch of food. Went here for the first time early Friday morning. They didn't have the one item I needed so I decided to leave. I try to leave but there is only ONE check-stand open. People are paying and mind u it's still COVID! I went to the other check-stands to get out and everyone I went to was padlocked! I wish I could give a negative star rating, it would be MINUS 5. This store was dirty, too many customers and the cashiers were standing around joking with each other. That wasnt the worst. I heard the cashier tell the lady in front of me the paper bags were free. She charged her for them and then gave her a credit. When I asked for a paper bag she told me the cost was $.50. I was outraged and asked her why she didnt charge the lady in front of me for bags and why did I have to pay? She just looked at me and didnt respond. I know the answer, she wanted to charge me because I wasnt a latina. These dirty small minded stores should be shut down. I like this grocery store usually reasonably good prices sometimes leaving the competition they have almost everything you can ask for it is a place that makes fresh tortilla shells hard shells for taco shells and they press their own soft shell tortillas which is great so you can get fresh tortillas everyday has a bakery that bakes fresh everyday large produce selection and everything that you could ask for in the grocery store fresh meat market everything I would recommend this place to anybody looking to go grocery shopping save some money but also have some very good produce read more

Don't understand why the grocery store says they close at 10pm but they closed at 9:52pm, I work retail and we have to close on the dot!
