I had my whole day planned out with a list of events to attend but first I wanted to stop by Patria and grab some coffee to start my morning off. Located in a parking lot next to Wilson Park on Compton Blvd and Alameda Street you'll find this nice cut lawn in front of this small white building, Patria Coffee Roaster. Depending on your time of arrival, the parking lot can be full but it's cool cuz there's also street parking available. I was able to park in the lot. After walking in I was welcomed and greeted with positive energy from 2 young ladies who I forgot their names but we'll just call them "A" and "C" lol. A guy to my right was sitting next to the window working on his laptop. And two others against the wall sipping their coffees and doing whatever on their phones. A customer was at the register ordering while another customer walked in to stand in line behind me. I let her go in front of me while I took pics and recorded footage. I like the atmosphere and space a lot. It has a very nice decor. Artwork, pictures and murals with history displayed along the walls. Grab and cold drinks available for purchase. Nice music playing that wasn't too loud but just right to complement a chill coffee shop vibe. "A" was friendly and patient as shared with her this was my first visit. As I browsed thru the coffee menu before making my selection I noticed more costumes coming in. I ordered a medium sized Americano which is $3.75 but I requested to add some hazelnut creamer as well as some almond milk which totaled out to $4.75 which was quite exceptional to me. Giving the location, the quality of service and the quality of the coffee. Not to mention to overall experience. I even thru in a $1 tip. I support the business and love the space. It feels welcoming and safe. The restroom was clean. They also have many different events held there. If you're ever in the area definitely pull up and check em' out. It's black owned as well. I actually ended up sitting there in the lot sipping my coffee while working on my video to post on social media. The coffee was good and tasteful. Didn't need any sugar. Great vibes and great coffee. You can even go the park right next door and get your steps in or just chill. I definitely recommend coming here. If you're passing thru the area or coming to the city, do yourself a favor and pull up. Check em' out. Grab you a coffee or something. This time I opted for the Pink Berry and Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea. The pink berry is depicted as a yogurt strawberry puree drink. I got a drink that was mostly a smoothie of ice with strawberry flavor. The consistency was more liquidy and lacked any yogurt creaminess. Phoenix oolong milk tea was more on the milk tasting side. The tea taste was definitely there, but the milk and tea didn't taste like it blended well together at all. I'm overall mixed about coming here since it is a hit or miss on if the drinks will be watered down or not. Staff is always busy filling orders and it does take some time to get the drinks. I'm not sure if this is an issue with certain baristas or overall consistency, but I do think management should make sure drinks are being prepared accurately and match what is shown on the menu. I also recommend checking your drink before leaving. Mine was partially covered by the cup holder, so I didn't notice the difference until after I had already left. It had the perfect balance of coffee flavor and natural sweetness from the honey. I really appreciate how they mix your latte all together before pouring over ice. It's a distinct difference from other coffee shops that I like because It avoids the coffee being too milky.
