01/05/2019 Closest Ralph's location right off of the 105 freeway. Pulling into the parking lot when the weather is a little wet. Drivers don't care how they are driving. I'm sure it is like that even when it is dry. Going through my shopping list in the car, a lady opens her car door and hits my car. I looked at her as she was surprised someone was sitting in their car. She had this look like, I didn't know I would be caught. She may not care about her car but I care about my car. After I got out and looked, there wasn't much of a scratch, I told her to please be careful. Like that is going to sink in for the next person parked next to her. Needless to say, I moved my car further away but there is always someone that parks next to me anyway. Once I make it inside the store, it's nice to see that there is a security guard at the door. Glad to see there are baskets with samples for the grapes. I often see people sampling without taking the bag or bagging the bunch. No matter what sort of fruit they are looking at. The restrooms are in the back of the store. Make sure you lock the door. I just needed a drink so I picked up a A&W Root Beer since it was in the cold freezer by the check stands. Came to Ralph's last Friday morning. There were 2 security guards blocking the entrance of the store. The store manager was in front of the store. She kept on saying the store was closed, no more shopping. Didn't have a sign in front saying the store closed. Didn't take down store signs. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT go to the Ralphs on 3rd & Vermont on a FRIDAY! There is a Temple that has service EVERY FRIDAY; meaning there is NOWHERE to park during the lunch hour. The manager, Walter was conveniently in a meeting and refused to show his face. There were two customers that had carpooled to the location, and I heard the frustrated driver say, "You can walk home!" after the passenger acted like it was no big deal that there was no immediate parking available. The place looked like a ghost town by the time I had waited for the manager, Walter (who never showed up). It was totally unacceptable today - people were almost tearing up their cars. Not to mention every other day of the week, you have to contend with 50 -11 people lined up to charge their electric vehicles! The "manager" Therisha? I'm not sure what her name is because she refused to provide me her name, and was covering her name tag . Came in last week to get my family friend (who's sick) some milk. Was uncertain of what type of milk to get so I went ahead and took a photo of the refrigerator that way I could forward it to her. Immediately I hear somebody shouting "Don't be taking pictures of my store" I had to do a double take and I stated "excuse me?" to which she replied don't be taking photos in my store. I asked her for her name but she refused and covered her name tag. She advised she was the store manager and to leave if I continue to take pictures. She was very dismissive and very rude and when I asked for her name all she said was "call corporate" I politely asked her where in the store does it show " no customer will be allowed to take photos inside the store?" Thankfully there were two customers who were close by who were witnesses and also provided me with their contact information. When I first moved to LA just over 4 years ago, I visited this Ralphs and was sure I was not going to shop there again because the restrooms were "nasty"!, and the rest of the store was nowhere near the quality of any other Ralphs I had ever visited before. Not long after posting pictures here on yelp, not only was the restrooms redone but the entire store was redone and they fixed the parking lot. Jump ahead to 2019, the restrooms are back to the way they were 4 years ago and what happened today has caused me to rethink ever going back to this store again. First I was so bothered by the nasty restroom that I picked up all the trash all over the floor and closed the door that was falling off its hinges. As I was leaving the store, I always get one of the Parent magazines. This time not only was there no Parent magazine but there were no magazines. I asked someone thinking they must be cleaning that area and were going to return the rack. I was wrong about that possibility. Instead, they had decided to remove the magazine rack because some irresponsible people were taking all of the magazines, leaving none for those that really wanted them like me. Already frustrated about the unkept restrooms. There aren't any scheduling cleanup charts on the door like other stores. I asked the employee if they knew the difference between the Ralphs in the beach areas and this one. He didn't know. I said things get broken, stolen and mistreated just like they do in his store. The difference is that in the white areas, they call someone to fix what is broken. They don't get rid of the magazine rack, they put more magazines. I have never had any issues with any Ralphs employees. They are always professional and helpful. The issue here is with the company. Today was a wonderful day. One of my brothers returned from an 11 year over seas term and so we decided to celebrate. Ralph's is a great brand store and as such the choice was easy. The store employees were polite, and extended help by assisting through the isle locating the necessary groceries. Ralph's has a wide variety of choices to combine and enhance a well planned celebration. After finding what was needed the check out line was easy flowing. The register clerk was fast paced and accurate. She was also courteous. The store was clean and neat. The isle were properly organized in a less aggressive style compared to other stores. Another pet peeve of mine are shopping carts. The shopping carts here were nice and all the wheels worked. read more

Several times I've visited because my Pops live in the area and he can't get around so well so I get his groceries and they seems to be out of certain items many times. I was told to call the store before coming to make sure they have the items(ham hocks this time) I am looking for. I'm on hold as we speak now and still no answer. The staff is usually very helpful and friendly but either stocking items is a problem here or they just don't get the items they need which wouldn't surprise me considering the Hood always get neglected. I don't know why this store has such a low rating. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. Every time I'm in the meat department, one of the ladies who works that department ALWAYS advises me on deals and even makes recommendations on what types of meats to get. She is so pleasant and has a genuine passion for what she does. Wish I can remember her name but will update my review when I go to that store today. There is also another young lady who is one of the cashiers and she has a wonderful personality with the customers. She always asks if I found what I needed and always has a smile. We walked down 3 or 4 aisles while we looked for certain ingredients for my burgers. The meat department was a good selection too. The prices were pretty fair as well. I usually don't shop at this Ralphs only if I am in the area or passing by, I wanted to fix breakfast this morning, I pick up some brown eggs, organic chicken sausages, hash brown potatoes, grits, whole grain wheat bread, It was so great to see about 15 cars in the lot, I even beat security in this morning...yes they do have a person in a uniform here in this area don't know why the only thing they have is a voice ( hay put that back.....hay come here ) people do sell Items out the trunk of their vehicles. The store was really clean and stocked very neatly, there were more of the staff there working then customer here, there is one draw back about coming this early is there is no cashier on duty only self service machines only 4 so this is the way I see it I'm getting my grocery got to scan my grocery got to bag my grocery after I pay for my grocery then "BY GOLLY" there should be some kind of discount making me work this early in the morning I pay to be waited on. read more

My local ghetto neighborhood market. What percentage of the time....... Are cops there? 15%. Do the self checkout mess up? 65% Do they have ready-maid sandwiches/warm chicken? 0% Have I gone after 10 pm? 5% Do people buy organic things? 5% Do people "self-checkout"? 10% =100% (An additional 10% should be noted as unaccounted revenue due to the illegal sales of bootleg DVD's and CD's in the Parking Lot.) I wish that Ralphs would give this store a face-lift and expand it a bit. I know the area isn't the best but that doesn't mean the people around it have to suffer with it. In order to make an area improve improvements need to be made within the community and the businesses in it. It's not as dangerous as it once was 10 years ago and this store shouldn't reflect that time. Food 4 less relatively close by as well as many other businesses off Crenshaw have joined the 21st century, so why can't this location? Gardena is right up the street and I'm sure this store would attract more people from over there if Ralph's is concerned about there not being enough people taking interest in a nice store. read more

I really like going to this grocery store. They have such a huge selection of fresh fruits and veggies even organic. They're fruits and vegetables look so pretty and appealing not like some other stores around the area with such messy floors and rotting fruit mixed in with the good ones. Ralph's only puts out the best for customers to buy. The store is very clean and the customer service is great too. This Ralphs is near my (old) house in a kind of sketch part of town. For what it is, the store is always neat & clean. I really have no complaints about the service. The guy in the produce section is always willing to help me pick fruit, or give me a taste of something when I want to know if it's sweet or not. The manager (front end or customer service manager) Rashid or Rashad or something like that is really upbeat and cheery. He used to manage the store by my old apt in Hawthorne so I am really familiar with him. I just want to give a review because they do a good job over there. read more

Every employee here is beyond nice , I come here often and have always experienced great service. Yesterday, I came in hoping to buy fresh shrimp for a scampi and headed over to the back to press the button for the butcher. I always ask for the shrimp they have in the back because they package the amount I like and they're not frozen. Well, I waited and waited ... and no one came out. I walked over to the seafood section , and found the only thing they had out was crab legs. There was no fish, no shrimp, nothing.. just crab legs and empty shelves. There weren't frozen shrimp in the frozen shrimp area either. So I figured I'd make something else, well it was the same case with the other stuff . The only items that were out where those that had low demand. Ok, so I find some frozen shrimp behind the cocktail shrimp and settle for that. I then check out at self check out and head out. Guess who I see in the parking lot hanging out with the DVD slangers???! The butcher. No wonder the meat area was so empty... He needs to get it together, he's nice and everything .. but do your job. read more
