I've been on the hunt for New Mexico green chili from Hatch and I was calling every store and they were completely out. I ended up calling Alex the manager at Stater Brothers in Paramont and he told me he'd call me back and see if any of his sister stores had any chili. Went today to the Meet and Greet of Cedric the Entertainers AC BBQ Sauce and to see the remodel. This event was PERFECT...Well organized and structured. The staff and Store Manager were very friendly. They informed us that Cedric and Anthony were running late due to traffic and passed out water to everyone. Once the Meet and Greet started all i can say is WOW. Cedric and Anthony were VERY FRIENDLY AND TOOK PICTURES WITH EVERYONE. I didn't feel rushed. I bought 4 bottles of their BBQ Sauce (Greet Price) and can't wait to try it. Heard great things about the Sauce. They also had giveaways Afterwards I did my grocery shopping. The store looks Fantastic. Very clean and organized. I asked an associate about an item i couldn't find and he walked me to the item ( didn't just say asile 3). The prices were good. went in today 09/09 around 11am. I was in the fruit aisle and an older gentleman was doing a sweep around the store, he got very close to me with the long broom but I brushed it off. Then he came around a second time and started saying "you're in my way, you're in my way, you're in my way", got very close to me again and walked by real fast . When I heard him , I thought no way is he talking to me , so I look around and yes, I am the only person who is "in his way". He was already further down from me when I noticed, I felt awkward and disrespected, I was just picking out some fruits , i wasn't even in a walk way, and either way, that's no way to get someone's attention to move. Have some basic manners, say excuse me, but even then, I don't have to get out of your way. First time visiting this location I will not go back. read more

They are verbally abusive and disrespectful to an older man who works there and is special needs. The checker, AMY was very mean when asking for a "clean up" in her aisle. Amy was lazy checking that the customers had put their items up right so a bottle dropped and shattered glass and sauce everywhere! I am reporting this to the ADA!! read more

Two stars for the remodeling and brighter looking store. No stars for the dour and sour staff who are as friendly as an angry next-door neighbor. I was made to feel like an unwanted interloper. First off let me start with why I stopped coming here a while ago due to the absolutely terrible customer service & dirtyness of the store. They just remodeled for reopening & guess what hasn't changed? In fact, it got WORSE!!! Let's start with the terrible management mainly the "store manager" Alex. He is not only rude to customers but rude to the employees too! Not only have I never seen that man actually help a customer but gives a hard time to the ones that do? No wonder everytime I need help or are checking out that the employees are so rude....it's probably because how he treats them! But on top of that, they constantly have EXPIRED PRODUCTS on the shelf & even if you say something, those products are guaranteed to be there still next time! I went to buy the same product TWO WEEKS later & the same item I told the employees was expired was still there... Finally, THE HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS!!!!! I am about ready to send photos to the health department & call them because this ia ridiculous. Improper hand washing & employees wearing APRONS OUTSIDE THE DELI & STORE!!! As someone who runs a restaurant that is absolutely disgusting that your employees are not only wearing their aprons outside but eating & smoking with them on too. If I go there one more time & see any of that I will be contacting the health department as I'm starting to doubt some of these people may have food handler cards or if they do, clearly that manager Alex has no care about people's health & safety! I came into stater bros after what felt like the longest shift ever I was already irritated and then I got into this long line but when I got to the front of the line, I met one of the cashier's name Jason and had an amazing conversation instantly turned my bad mood into a good mood. The store recently was renovated and the interior is much improved with wider aisles and open and airy area for produce and the deli counter. I find the employees to be friendly and welcoming. The meats are excellent and the butchers have always preformed any special request I might have like custom thick steaks or removal of the membrane on a rack of ribs. Prices are typically equal to national corporate chains or on many items lower. I have not purchased sandwiches, fried chicken or other prepared foods, so I can not comment on that aspect. While they do not have self checkout the number of open stationed aisles makes for nominal checkout lines. My experience seems to differ greatly than that of some others as I am glad that Stater Bros is an alternative to corporate giants. read more

I went to Stater Bros. in Paramount early in the morning, around 6 am, when they just opened. The first three staff members I encountered all greeted me with a good morning and a smile. I shop paramount locations today and was very disappointed when I arrived home to make sandwiches,my bread looks like someone opened and had a bite or it's possible store has a hungry mouse I was not willing to drive back to paramount from north Long Beach to get a refund or replacement !! This is the second time I've been to that location and had problems, prior visit was chicken 8 pieces and chicken was like rubber. Will not be returning to this location in future, apparently quality of service is not satisfactory.use to be a quality store. Let me start by saying they are having a power outage right now. However the way you treat your customers in times of crisis is what counts. I was greeted outside by Jelani who complimented me and then asked me to use my flashlight on my phone upon entering for safety and made me aware of what was available indoors. Upon entering I used my flashlight and went directly to the service deli as I was placing a large order of chicken for a repast. The young lady told me she could take the order but I wouldn't be able to pay. She was equally as nice. She asked would I like a picture of the paper and offered to turn on her flashlight while I took the picture. I did. No sooner than I pushed click, the store manager Alex walked up and interrupted our conversation by saying Ms. you need to turn on your flashlight. As I started to explain he again interrupted me by saying it's for your own safety and then proceeded to hand her some papers and tell her he had taken care of those orders. Then he walked away towards the cake department. He was rude. The young lady who was helping me apologized for his actions stating he was under pressure because of the outage and the Supervisors were coming. If I had never met Alex this would have been a 5 star review on how staff serviced customers in the midst of an unusual circumstance. But alas I did meet Alex and he needs to learn how to treat customers from his staff. read more

I bought 2lbs of "fresh" salmon keep in mind fresh salmon is only suppose to have a light fishy smell at worst but when I got home which is only 5 minutes away from the store I unwrapped the salmon right away and it had a disgusting spoiled smell to it, this also the second time this happens at this store and which is why I'll never go back. I highly do not recommend buying fish or meat from here. read more

So, I previously provided a review of my experience at this location and I wanted to share an additional review from a recent visit. I want to be sure the management at this location note my this feedback to the employees. This location is fantastic. Had an amazing experience with Mika, Pedro and I think Kiara. During my 2nd visit went to the deli and man were they busy. I watched both Mika and Pedro as I waited in line and they treated each customer as if they were the only customers at the deli. The amount of patience they displayed was nice; Kiara assisted them in a way where they didn't have to ask her. The flow of professionalism appears to be consistent, and he dedication to excellent customer service is a standard. read more

i am so disappointed in how this store is managed. used to be that i would purchase my daily sandwich for 4.99. then they saw how much it was getting sold and raised the price on it. now it's a $9 sandwich. They can blame the economy and inflation all they want but this change occurred in a matter of months. they just saw consumer behaviours and used it to their advantage. simply to make more money. the quality of fresh food has gone down considerably too. this is what happens when the managers are too focused on pleasing corporate rather than their regular and core customers. read more

Stater brothers parking lot it being taken over by construction, not only did they close down 3 lanes of parking but now they closed additional lanes and as that is inconvenient enough you add all the big white utility trucks all the workers who take there personal cars and all the employees from stater brothers cars as well. First off you really don't need all those utilities trucks, pack all you need in a couple and leave open parking for customers, why can't more workers carpool in the utility trucks or in their vehicles and park right next to each other. No they leave a parking in between that's not fisable to park and act like there doing something when they know they are not. ITS JUST NOT FAIR, afterall the customers is what keeps the store open isn't. It's ridiculous. Come on Stater Brothers someone needs to speak up to corporate. You have elderly people and disabled people parking all the way in the back and having to walk a ways because all the parking is taken. Why can some cars or trucks park in the back or on the other side where shipping comes in. You accommodate the construction workers who are getting paid by the way, more than the customers that are spending there hard earned money to grocery shop. Let's do something! read more

Went to the meat department for shrimp. As the worker weighed a pound of shrimp for me I noticed it looked old and slimey yellow. He said it was fresh. When I brought it home it was smelly and slimey. Gross! Not sure why he was not honest. Not going back for shrimp again. read more

Wow, wow, wow! Last week I reached out to the manager Alex to find out if he could fulfill an order for a food drive that my company is hosting for nonprofits in South LA. The answer was yes, and the service that I received from Mr. Cervantes was outstanding! From the time he received my message, he was prompt to return my calls, concerned about my cause, and reassuring that his team could deliver all of the food that we were requesting by the time we needed it. When I arrived to meet him in person, and to talk through final details, he was working on my order and had every item that I had requested on the countertop to ensure that I was getting what I purchased personally. He then introduce me to another manager name Chris, who was working with the warehouse team to pack all of the items and have them ready for an early morning pick up. This was the first time our company partnered with Stater brothers, but it certainly will not be the last. Kudos, to the staff and the company who obviously care about Customer Service and showing up for their community. read more

Went to get chicken there and was told that I had to wait as they cooked the chicken. Told them that was cool, I would go shop and come back in 9 minutes. The guy at the counter told me I had to wait there "first come, first serve" and if I wanted to go shop as the chicken cooked I would have to get back in the line and hope it was still there. Stater Bros staff at Spring St location usually prepare it as I shop and set aside for when I come back. But apparently here you have to wait. When the chicken comes out the fryer the guy puts it in a plastic bag instead of a box. This caused the chicken to be soggy by the time I got home. Stater Brothers can and does better but not here. P.S. I NEVER have left such a long negative review but felt in this case it was deserved. Oh my gosh, I just read some of the reviews that were negative. I'm here and stater brothers. Keep saying "We strive for better customer service and we will do better." Let me tell you guys they haven't done better. If you're going to respond to this review, then do something about those rude children in the deli! A month ago a customer complained and you said you would do better and guess what? Certain types of places are hard to do a review on because unless you get great or horrible service or product, it's just average. This includes - in my humble opinion - gas stations, grocery stores and fast food places. I stop in to this Stater Brothers on rare occasions. This time I stopped in for water, on my way to my Dental Appointment at Dr. Max Martinez in Paramount. So it's a grocery store. What I do find here is a LARGE selection of products. It's a large store. And, most importantly the staff is friendly and helpful. Edit - I forgot to mention that it's well organized and always clean. read more

I stopped by with a friend who moved in near by in the neighborhood of this location yesterday . We both noticed ! This location has plenty of EXPIRED items in their meat dept including seafood items like cheviches , seafood salad , & many other items in their dairy fridge section like expired yogurts , One thing was noticeable for both of us while we were in meat dept we noticed an employee was peeling off labels off ALREADY packed meats !!!! A few days ago I had gone to the store and it was a few minutes before the store closed and I was looking for cilantro and there was none in the front, I ask a lady who was working there to see if there was any in the back, I was think her name was Vee, and she gladly went out of her way to help me and had a great attitude, not only that but she saw that I needed help with my groceries due to my bad hip, and she offered to carry the heavy stuff and help me shop AND helped me out to my car. I have recently moved to the area. The customer service here is excellent. Adel, the security guard stopped what he was doing and got me the handicap cart. I also saw him help another customer that needed a chair , while the woman's family finished their shopping. Next, I was getting soda and it was to high. Richard, 7up vendor, stopped his own work of refilling his product and came to help me. Again, great customer service. Lastly, the front end clerks and box clerks, always make sure I'm good. Today, Christian went back into the store to get more products because it was on sale and it would be cheaper to buy in multiples. He took me out to my car and stored my items but waited until I was in my car first. Great customer service all around. I would recommend this store for anyone that needs help. I'm a ex army veteran, i was in the store tonight wating in line to pay for my groceries when i started a conversation with a customer in front of me. I made a comment how we need adult to run are country. The customer didn't really didn't engage with me. The cashier decided to thank that customer for not engaging with me right in front of me. Like i was the biggest piece of shit. I kept my cool didn't say anything left pissed off. So i called the store.
