I grew up in the CPT Willowbrook/Stockwell. Came in. There was practically no one in the market. No one at the meat counter which is a PLUS++++ I never like buying marinated meat. Just because I've been disappointed so many times. And it ain't cheap when you are buying 5 lbs or more minimum. So, for years now, I have been marinating my own carne asada. And usually it is pretty good and everyone likes/loves the flavor. Let me tell you my secret. There are only two ingredients. Seasoning and a long time favorite citrus drink. No more. No less. Well the carne asada here is cut pretty thin. Which makes it catch the marinade pretty well. It cooks quick. And is soft to chew. Price was ok to go to in a pinch. And much much better price than these so called Butcher stores likes the Carniceria and Butcher shops where they price gouge like a MOFO!!!! And meats are pretty much any other meat market quality. The short ribs were blah. Tough. Chewy. Pass. Never again. I would come come back for the carne asada ranchers in a pinch. If I don't want to go to a crowded super market. Other than that, I will stick to Stater Bros carne asada ranchers. Good quality. Good price. And when it's on sale for $4.99 /lb you can't beat that and it's just like of not better than these so called butcher spots that charge you 150% of stater Bro's price. Come On dudes. I usually take my scooter to the store and this time the cashier Angelica packed all my things into one bag. I asked her if I can have another bag and she said it was going to be an extra charge as I said, that was no worries I can do Apple Pay. She proceeded to charge me the extra $.50 for a $.25 bag. I basically paid a dollar for a plastic bag. She didn't want to give me my receipt for my singular bag as she kept it. If you're trying to keep your neighborly people to be your loyal customers don't cheap out on them on a $.25 bag. Now I'd rather deal with the hassles of superior because I feel like they really got one over on me, although a dollar isn't a lot. It's the principle of it and that was messed up. I already paid $50 for 2 pounds of chicken and a couple vegetables on the side.

Unfortunately, Alexis, Josue, and another female manager with red hair made me feel completely unwelcome due to their attitudes and lack of professionalism. What upset me the most was asking for help getting an Uber home and being ignored multiple times. It wasn't until I finally spoke up about being ignored that they got Chris to assist me. Thankfully, Chris was the only employee who showed kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help, and I truly appreciate him for that. No customer should feel dismissed or uncomfortable while shopping, especially after spending their hard-earned money there. I hope management takes customer service more seriously moving forward.

It is not a huge store but has its characteristics and location which keep a healthy dose of customers. I walked in and I noticed the fresh bread on steel racks. I saw a decent size deli are with carnitas and the usual. The fruit section was more impressive as I saw fresh looking fruit and vegetables. They had huge papayas and dark avacodos for $1 each. The middle aisles were similar to what you may see in a Northgate or small La Superior. They had all the typical groceries you would expect to see and none of the fancy items you may see in a suburban Albertsons or suburban Vons. Towards the back I noticed a section of value items including combs, baby wipes, storage items, cups and household items. Thier butcher section looked pretty good, they had all the beef, chicken including 85% lean ground beef. They did not have the 98%, aww, why not? I cheered up seeing a gift section which included gift baskets filled with toys for $9.99. I grabbed my meat quickly and then waited, and waited, seemed so long, so very long. Waiting in line to pay took a while as only two cashiers were working and there was around 10 customers waiting to pay. Finally I paid, cashier was a freindly older woman, the grocery bagger was a quite lad. I will probably be back but not if I am in a hurry.
