Today was my second visit to the food truck. Last time I was surprised by plantain being used as the bread in a sandwich. It was good but very hard and the meat, I believe it was steak, was so TOUGH, it had to be deconstructed. Today - I ordered the chicken sandwich on french bread - an $11.00 sandwich turned into $14.00 - puzzled; when handed my purchase, there was an extra surprise carton, so okay but it turned out to be fries that I did not order - they were old, cold and smell rancid. The sandwich has extremely dry chicken chunks, I'm not sure how long they have been around - smothered in cilantro crema, Mmm, and topped with cold, right out of the bag, potatoe shoestrings - yuck! and SALTY. I probably won't give them a 3rd try. Very expensive, not good food. read more

I can't quite find the words to describe how much I loved my first visit to Alchemy. The food managed to combine the experience of tasting interesting and unexpected flavors that one expects from complex cuisine, while still delivering the satisfaction and sense of home one gets from great comfort food. So, so, sooooo good. Can't wait to come back. read more

Alchemy Restaurant - Patacón Venezuela Sandwich This exceeded my expectations. Tastes just as good as it looks. - Venezuelan Near Me - Prospect, Kentucky

We have been to Alchemy several times. Despite being busy, food and service have been consistently excellent. Nelsen, the owner, has stopped by our table each time we've dined there to make sure we were having a great experience. Highly recommend the bone-in pork chop and the ribeye! read more

Went for the first time and were not disappointed. We live their food truck and the restaurant was just as good. Service was very good and we didn't feel rushed. read more

A hidden gem. The food is so flavorful. I could eat it almost everyday. The roast beef sandwich is amazing.

Referred by a coworker who knows that I absolutely love Latino food! So when she told I needed to check out this place I couldn't wait. My first time having Venezuelan food and I love it! I will definitely be back! Taqueños are a wonderful of the cheese sticks! read more

I highly highly recommend Alchemy Restaurant in the Logan Street Market! The food here is out-of-this-world amazing. The first time I ate here the owner took the time to share about the food and his journey of opening this restaurant. I ordered the arepa with chicken and cheese, and after I placed my order I secretly hoped it wasn't going to be bland and tasteless. Let me tell you, that was not the case! The chicken was so flavorful and delicious. The next time I went back, I ordered the Venezuelan arepa with plantains and shredded beef and once again so delicious! The food is well priced and you can get an entire meal for a decent price. Without a doubt we will be back for more! read more

Excellent service excellent food meat was tender cooked to perfection attractive setting and great location

The food, service and atmosphere were excellent! We were hesitant to take our kids here for dinner and are glad we did.-We all left full and happy. read more

I have enjoyed everything I've eaten here. The arepas are probably my favorite tho. They put out specials too that I've had a couple times and Are always flavorful. Nelson, is one of the owners, say hey to him next time you're there. He's a good person. read more

The Venezuelan arepa was great, I really enjoyed it. And as someone from Florida, where arepas are very common, it was nice to finally have an arepa here in Louisville after so long. However, I felt the prices were a bit high for an arepa, which is the only reason I did not give 5 stars read more

I visited Alchemy on opening day of the Logan Street Market. I was super excited because we just had an amazing experience at a Venezuelan place in Denver and were lamenting the lack of arepas in Louisville. Alchemy did not let us down! We both ordered the Venezuelan arepa (black beans, plantains,) and they were completely delicious. Arepas are usually gluten free since they are made from white cornmeal but since this wasn't advertised I double checked and the server confirmed that all of the arepas are gluten free. Check this place out before they get so popular the line wraps around the market! read more

I love how most of the items are gluten free but yet still good! I recommend that you try the vegetarian empanada as well with anything you get. read more

Had the beef empanadas today. Delicious. So good I forgot to take a picture. Definitely a must have at the Logan Street Market.

The best Arepa Venezuela on the planet. I've eaten it about 5 times now. The only thing I've ever eaten from Logan Street Market because it's so good I can't order anything else. read more

Loved the food! We had a shredded chicken arepa, plantains, tres leches cake, and the special (which was a plate of black beans, roasted pork, fried cheese, and a fried egg). It was delicious, and the owner, Nelson, was also very nice and open with us. Highly recommend! read more

I ordered the Pelua (shredded beef with cheddar cheese). I should've went with Venezuela Arepa for a dollar more as that added black beans and plantains. The arepa was very hard to eat and made a mess to eat as it was very wet and dripped juices all over. I will give this place another chance, but it left me slightly disappointed overall. read more

Great twist on classic Venezuelan food. Arepa sandwhiched with hreat filling. Located inside a market off of Logan Street. Totally worth finding a spot and going in. read more

Small town girl in a big city...one of my favorite things to be. Had never had an Arepa, but I'm glad I tried it. Being gluten free, it's hard to find sandwich type meals on the fly. Got the Caprese Arepa. Very good despite pretty salty. If I lived here, I'd come back again! read more

Basically like a food truck but inside. Not many tables available but it's a community venue. The dishes are tasty but not too many options. There are other places your group can get food from if they don't want something here. read more

First time trying Venezuelan food here and their arepas was amazing! Corn sandwich was crispy and plantain was delicious.

Wow! Amazing sandwiches with a South American twist. The food is stellar and the prices are amazing. The Venezuelan arepa had perfectly cooked and seasoned beef with flavorful platains and beans. We loved the plantain sandwich, too. Get over to Logan Street Market for this gem!! read more

This place is very well suited for LSM. The food was Delicious and reasonably priced! Louisville doesn't have many arepa places so I'm happy with this addition. The man who was taking orders was very friendly and helpful. read more

I'm so excited that they've opened up in Logan Street Market. I got the chicken & cheese arepa. I love love loved it!

This place is amazing. The Patacon and Arepas are so solid. Definitely hit this place up. And order an extra Patacon with it.

Got the Alchemy Food Truck at a brewery and was blown away! We got the chicken empanadas and Venezuela arepas and both were phenomenal, so much flavor, hot and fast! Wish we took a picture but it was so good we ate it all before we got the chance. read more

Arepas were great! Chicken soup was authentic, deep, and delicious. Chef was courteous and warm. Will definitely be returning.

The arepa caprese hit the spot just right! The flavors were all well balanced and the arepa was crispy on the outside and light fluffy on the inside. What more could you ask for! read more

I ate here twice since it has open. It was delicious. I had one of their soups with chicken and some type of dumpling. I had their beef platter and it had lots of flavor. The best thing I ate there was the flan . The staff there explain all of their dishes and to answer questions. read more

I stopped by Alchemy while visiting the Logan Street Market. I was not familiar with Venezuelan cuisine so was unsure what to order. After chatting with the owner a bit I decided on the pabellon criollo. It was wonderful. Shredded beef, black beans, white rice and sweet and a fried egg. Everything was really flavorful. Even the white rice. I will definitely be back. A lot of people were ordering the Arepas. I believe that will be what I order next. read more

Couldn't recommend more! The food was amazing! The arepa Venezuela was phenomenal. Everything on the menu is gluten free too. Nelson was so nice and great with offering recommendations. I will definitely be back! read more

Alchemy Restaurant - Arepa Venezuela - Venezuelan Near Me - Prospect, Kentucky

I walked the entire market before stumbling upon this place. As soon as I approached the counter the owner sparked up a conversation. Explaining the best dishes and that everything was Gluten Free. I had heard of Arepas from a friend of mine and wanted to try them. The owner mentioned this was the only Venezuelan restaurant in the city, and came over to check on us while we were eating. This is the best food I've had in the longest time. Being gluten free I often feel as though I have to settle and eat a salad everywhere I go, rarely do I get to eat carb heavy and indulge. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Service -5/5 Prices 5/5 Taste 10/5. It was so good! read more

Logan Street Market has become one of our favorite spots to get in out of the cold, browse the shops and grab dinner. The highlight is, of course, the dinner at Alchemy Restaurant! Nelson & Nahyla are so warm and friendly and their authentic Venezuelan food is outstanding. My favorite is the Pabellon Criollo plate: sofrito-flavored shredded beef, white rice, black beans and sweet plantains with a fried egg on top! My wife loves the potato soup and the Venezuela Arepa, which contains many of the same ingredients in a corn meal pocket. The atmosphere is as informal as it gets, but the food is truly special. read more

Alchemy restaurant congratulations your food was amazing and I was surprised by the quality of the food and how fast it was I can't wait to come back and eat the amazing Venezuelan dessert "quesillo" read more

When I die, I want to be buried in Alchemy so I can smell the arepas for eternity. I would've added a photo, but I inhaled the food so fast there was no chance for Yelp to eat first. I've never had plantains or black beans like this in my life. I can never go back to making them myself. Seriously, if you don't go here at least once, you're missing a life transforming experience. read more

A lot to choose from for such a small space. Empanadas are terrific and the tres leches was amazing
