Menu -- April 2026
Sarah W.

We arrived for a Sunday around 6 PM dinner and were seated immediately. We opted for indoor dining, but outdoor patio dining is now available. Dining area was at 2/3 capacity. The upbeat festive music is quite loud and made it difficult to hear our server. She seemed a bit frustrated with us when we had to request she repeat herself. We also felt rushed during our visit -- halfway through the appetizer course when our entrees were dropped off and then asked midway through entree course if we wanted dessert and To Go boxes. Our entire visit was less than 45 minutes. We started with a combination appetizer, which was a nice variety of items. Entree selections were crab chimichanga dinner, three piggies fajita dinner, and a combination meal. All 3 of us were complimentary of the food. Food is delicious, seasoned well, and piping hot. Menu is extensive with lovely presentation. Restaurant is lovely, modern, and comfortable seating. Property has ample free parking and easy accessibility. Service is efficient and extremely fast. Paid with a gift card and credit card, but realized later when checking receipt the GC was not credited. Ah well, my fault for not checking at the time during processing, but sharing to say to request 2-step process with gift credit to be applied first and then to pay the revised balance due. Will likely return for the phenomenal lunch deals when in the area -- ample selection and terrific value. Great takeout option for quick delicious meals. Overall, friendly staff working as a team to assist table side.

Side of Rice

My husband and I recently went here for dinner. It was great. I ordered a happy hour margarita. Very tasty. For dinner I ordered the fish tacos which came with a side of rice. It was all very good. I especially liked the sauce that came on with the rice. The setting was very festive with a buzz throughout the restaurant as they were very busy. Even though they were busy, they did a great job getting the food out to all the tables. Our's didn't take long at all. Our waiter checked on us multiple times. We will be back.

This review is for the newer Gustavo's in Prospect. This location has been open for a little over a year and it's absolutely beautiful! Gustavo has created a romantic and upscale environment for his diners. So 5 stars for the vibe. And the excellent service. Drinks are ordered and served quickly, and our food came out exceptionally fast. And hot. But, alas, 3.5 stars for the food. It's good. But not exceptional. I think Gustavo's plays it too safe on the seasoning. Very little flavor in both my fajitas and my wife's combo quesadilla. "Bland" is the term that comes to mind. My combo fajitas came with the usual sides of lettuce, a smidge of guacamole, some pico, refried beans , sour cream, and 3 tortillas. The fajitas came with tiny little bits of chicken and beef. It was difficult to differentiate one from the other. I'd prefer "strips" of chicken and beef over "scraps". The peppers and onions weren't charred, but rather "glassy". Not the usual "sizzling" you expect from a cast iron skillet. The portions are reasonable, but pricing reflects the upscale ambiance. Step up the flavors and Gustavo's will be a first choice for Mexican food in Prospect.

We had a large group and they were able to accommodate on a Saturday night. The service was great. The food was great!! The atmosphere is very modern. There was a large birthday celebration & we never felt neglected. My nephew is autistic & was able to handle the noise level. We started with the queso fundido which was amazing! The pollo Playa, shrimp Mexicana, chimichanga, and tacos al pastor didn't disappoint. They have a huge liquor selection. I had the margarita flight which was not only beautuful but yummy!! We were in town for a family reunion & will definitely come back next year.

Gustavo's is amazing. Friendly, fast service, great atmosphere, yummy food. They have daily drink specials and lunch menus if you're not super hungry. The new location in Norton commons is so cute and has a great patio. Perfect to meet up with friends or take your dad to lunch.

Classy interior, your average Mexican fare, light and well flavored. Came in for a margarita and a single beef taco. Just what I needed.

Started with the crab dip- great flavor and texture, fresh scallions and shaved cheese which helped build up the crab flavor- even got extra bread for the dip since it was a good sized portion, Baby green salad- fresh, crisp lettuces, cucumbers and tomatoes in a vinaigrette Bacon wrapped pork loin was flavorful and tender on the inside while the bacon was crispy and cooked to perfection. The highlight was the squash - almost like a veggie lasagna. Char grilled cab ribeye- cookedto perfection (medium rare) with potatoes. Balsamic fingerling potatoes- while they had agreat taste and texture- little too sweet. Finished with a key lime pie- heaven in a pie crust- great key lime flavors, meringue was to perfection!

Food: Cornbread- unexpected. This was the free bread corse for the table but it was not expected. This didn't come out until after we ordered our meal. Definitely burnt my mouth because I was impatient Hawaiian Fish- Big portions! It is true when they say that everything is bigger in the south! The fish was light and free of the fishy scent. The rice was a bit mushy from the cook and the addition of sauce. Angus Filet Mignon- standard. The filet was cooked nicely and the lobster compound butter was a nice touch. On to my next adventure...

They could elevate the coffee service by putting a small container of actual cream on the table instead of the tiny plastic coffee containers that they use at McDonalds. Beignets - do NOT get. These are not traditional beignets. These are heavy, flat, limp square-shaped dough of unknown origin. They stick to the roof of your mouth - literally. Not ideal. We are from South Louisiana. Honestly, they would be better served using a mix from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans or Coffee Call in Baton Rouge. The mixes also are not as good as the places make them in Louisiana, but they would be a far better cry than what is being served. The grits and eggs are devoid of flavor. The eggs were fluffy though. The waffle...let's just say they'd be better off using a good commercial mix as well. Hampton Inn's are better for expectation purposes. The biscuits and gravy were good. The hash is basically cheesy potatoes and once you get beyond the misnomer of hash, they're really good. Maybe we ordered poorly, but I don't think that's the case.

My brother got a cup of the tomato bisque, which is served with puff pastry on top. For dinner, we ordered carbonara, jumbo shrimp limone, and lasagna. Everything was delicious and came with MORE BREAD. YAY! Much came home with us but it all was enjoyed by lunchtime today. Delicious. For dessert, my mom will always bring something from her own freezer. Some restaurants may frown on this, but our server brought us plates and forks, a knife for cutting the small cake, and even 2 little candles to blow out and the lighter to light them. So sweet. She also brought us a happy birthday decorated plate of little canolis, which were much better than that store bought cake. Lol Can't wait to return, especially for drinks and appetizers. There is a beet and burrata salad I've got my eye on! (I can't believe I didn't take any other photos)

You will NEVER receive a bad meal here. Ever. The food is amazing!…read more This is definitely a local's spot. The great thing is the local's are all a great hang. So the ambiance, depending on where you are seated is very good or fantastic. The service is mostly abysmal. It's been abysmal for years. Then they brought out a basket of fried biscuits with cinnamon butter - outstanding! For our entrees, she had the Lobster Avocado Toast, which came with two large slices topped with avocado, sunny-side up eggs and massive chunks of lobster served with a side of roasted, parmesan crusted tomatoes, and I ordered the Crispy Chicken & Waffle, Nashville Hot style, which also came with thick-cut bacon. Both dishes were magnificent! I cleaned my plate and she could only finish one of the pieces of toast, so we boxed up the other. When we walked in there were about 4 hostesses standing behind the counter. When we asked if they would be able to seat us they looked us over. The one hostess we were talking to kind of laughed and another hostess walked over to the first one, whispered something in her ear. Then the first one said they couldn't seat us. My daughter asked how long the wait was. The hostess paused and finally said about 30 minutes. We left because the vibe they were giving us was that they didn't want to seat us which I didn't understand. We were well dressed so I couldn't imagine it was our attire, but that was the vibe they were giving us. When we left, I told my kids it must be because we didn't have a reservation. I was trying to the hostesses the benefit of the doubt. My daughter got online and made a reservation for 30 minutes out, as we all decided we really wanted to try Stoney River. We walked back in 5 minutes before our reservation. Now there were about 5 hostesses behind the counter. I could tell from their faces that they recognized us and a couple of them were whispering again. I walked up to the counter and gave them our reservation information and they said ok. While we were eating we saw them walking by the kitchen looking at us again. This was not a look as if they were checking on us. Our server was nice and did a good job. The food and wine were fine but I have to say the experience with the hostesses really ruined the experience that I couldn't even focus on the food. Unfortunately, we won't be back. It was the oddest experience I've ever had at a restaurant.
