Food was standard Mexican food, we were in a larger group and the food came out fairly quickly. Location is good for larger groups and very accommodating. Not too expensive either.

Beautiful patio and plenty of room for our larger group. I'm ready to go back just to sit outside. They have a large indoor space as well. Their team worked well to take care of us. I enjoyed the chips and salsa. Queso was basic but the guacamole disappointed me. A big blend of green with some flavor and no chunks of tomato or other filling. Juan's Special with chicken, rice and cheese was nice. I ordered soft tortillas to go with it. Many of us got margaritas. My pineapple was okay but I'd pick another option. My mojito was ... awful. Two sips that tasted like pure lime. I left it on the table. The margaritas were also weak on tequila and mainly sugary. I'll skip the alcohol and extra dollars at the next visit.

We decided to give Fiesta Time Amigos a try after leaving Santa pics at Cabelas because we were in the mood for Mexican food and this restaurant was close by. What an amazing decision! We were greeted with a smile by the server and taken to a corner table with plenty of space for everyone. There were several TVs so the people who wanted to watch the football game could watch it, and there were plentiful amounts of chips and salsa. Normally, restaurants seem annoyed when you ask for more chips and salsa; not at Fiesta Time Amigos. They kept our baskets and bowls STOCKED without us having to ask! There were tons of booster seats available for the kiddos, and they were CLEAN! Most restaurants have sticky booster seats, but they were fresh and clean here. The menu had tons of amazing options for our entire party, and the food was hot and fresh. The server and other staff were so sweet and attentive, even chatting with our children when the kiddos asked them random questions lol. When we stood to leave, were were given a warm, "Please come back again soon!" and we definitely will! I sadly don't know our server's name, but he was a male working Sunday 11.30.25 around 4:30pm and deserves all of the compliments! Everyone should give Fiesta Time Amigos in Norton Commons a try when they're looking for great Mexican food and a great experience :)

Great Mexican spot in Norton Commons. We were able to do call ahead seating for a party of 8 on a Saturday night. We have 4 kids under the age of 3 and they were very accommodating and patient. Really enjoyed the grilled shrimp entree and Queso.

Oh My Gosh. Best Chorizo Queso EVER!!! We came on Taco Tuesday and it was packed but we were seated promptly. Our server Fatima was the best, so personable and attentive! We started off with chips and salsa and then ordered the chorizo queso. The chips were really good even by themselves. The salsa was better than what I've tried at other places. The chorizo queso...omg. So delicious! I couldn't stop eating it! For our entrees we had tacos of course and everyone agreed that they were good. I had the chorizo and pastor tacos and definitely preferred the pastor. For dessert we tried the flan and churros and the flan definitely beats the churros. The restaurant itself is very nice and has a really cool bar. There is plenty of street parking as well! Needless to say, I will be back!

A great Mexican restaurant in Prospect! The venue and restaurant are so cute. The inside part of the restaurant is a great place to watch any sports. The outside patio is great for groups. The drinks are strong and the margs are so so tasty. There's a great selection of Mexican food and at a very fair price. The servers are super friendly and the owner is so sweet!! 10/10 would recommend.

Fiesta Time Amigos in Norton Commons has the atmosphere of a classy sports bar. The bar chairs have backs and are upholstered. It has a clean and modern vibe that you might expect in a Norton Commons establishment. The patio is large and inviting. They have plenty of televisions inside to catch the game. Without trying to diminish other Mexican restaurants in that particular area, this one is my new favorite. I only took a picture of my own plate. I had a Blue Moon (happy our lasts until EIGHT PM on weekdays) and GUACAMOLE MARIO w/chicken- Slices of avocado with tomatoes, onions, cilantro and chopped jalapeños. My meal was exceptional. It was fresh. It tasted healthy and didn't give me the carb loaded salt bloat that I've experienced in similar restaurants. My husband had CHORI POLLO- A grilled chicken breast topped with chorizo (Mexican sausage) and cheese dip. Served with rice, beans and tortillas. It tasted far less healthy but equally (possibly even more) delicious. This place has the prices of Mexican food chains, but it's family owned, the ambiance is far more appealing, the service is excellent, and the prices are comparable to all those other places that don't measure up. I'm looking forward to going back.

The upbeat festive music is quite loud and made it difficult to hear our server. She seemed a bit frustrated with us when we had to request she repeat herself. We also felt rushed during our visit -- halfway through the appetizer course when our entrees were dropped off and then asked midway through entree course if we wanted dessert and To Go boxes. Our entire visit was less than 45 minutes. We started with a combination appetizer, which was a nice variety of items. Entree selections were crab chimichanga dinner, three piggies fajita dinner, and a combination meal. All 3 of us were complimentary of the food. Food is delicious, seasoned well, and piping hot. Menu is extensive with lovely presentation. Restaurant is lovely, modern, and comfortable seating. Property has ample free parking and easy accessibility. Service is efficient and extremely fast. Paid with a gift card and credit card, but realized later when checking receipt the GC was not credited. Ah well, my fault for not checking at the time during processing, but sharing to say to request 2-step process with gift credit to be applied first and then to pay the revised balance due. Will likely return for the phenomenal lunch deals when in the area -- ample selection and terrific value. Great takeout option for quick delicious meals. Overall, friendly staff working as a team to assist table side.

I wish I could join the chorus of 4 and 5 star reviews. Looking for a restaurant with atmosphere?…read more You won't find it here. My first warning was the decrepit sign over the door in a dilapidated strip center. But, as the saying goes, "don't judge a book by its cover." The food was good. Not great. My usual order is fajitas, this time a chicken, steak, and chicken combo. The plate was served sizzling. Served with 3 small tortillas and the usual fixin's. El Mexicano doesn't serve any beans other than refried, so, no option for black beans, pinto or borracho. The shrimp in the dish were perfect, the chicken was dried out and there were about 6 little strips of steak. The grilled onions and peppers were very good. My wife's shrimp dish was very salty. She prefers the interpretation of Shrimp Mexicana at others Mexican restaurants. And for good measure, because we asked for some lime to squeeze on the shrimp and they tacked on $2 to the bill. But what really resulted in my barely average review was the cleanliness of El Mexicano; or rather, the lack of it. You'll notice a yellow bucket that hangs on the wall in the dining room, yes, in full sight of diners. I witnessed a server drop something on the floor, grab a cloth from the bucket and clean the floor. Then, she returned the cleaning cloth to the bucket. Moments later, another server used the same cloth to clean tables! The health department would have a hissy fit if they saw this. Worse, when I mentioned this to the manager, he was indifferent. I know he understood me, he just didn't care. If the manager is so indifferent to such an obvious health hazard, I can't fathom what goes on in the kitchen. El Mexicano is a "one and done" for us.

When we arrived we had a brief wait before we checked in, and were seated on the second level. Our server was excellent, our service was quick and he was always around without hovering. It was bitter cold outside so instead of my usual margarita ($14+) I opted for a beer ($6). We started with the salsa trio, one of my favorites with handmade assorted chips. It includes three salsas, somewhat spicy, sweet tomato and tomatillo - the spicy and sweet were my favorites. Next we ordered the tacos el carbon and carbon burrito - pricing is expensive! We both ordered our steaks medium rare. My tacos had a beautiful presentation, the meat came out on a skewer and smoking from the hot coals. All toppings were repeated on the plate. The steak was overcooked and tough though. Had a nice smoke to it, but very chewy. My husband enjoyed his burrito but wasn't the best he's ever had. They also had a mariachi band walk around but they had "tips" all over their instruments and clothes. Overall we had a nice meal but the price point doesn't equal the food quality.

Delicious salsa seasoned well with a good amount of cilantro to give it a nice flavor and just enough heat to keep in interesting. Chips were served warm, fresh and crispy-crunchy. They have a very wide menu featuring a great array of Mexican specialties along with the more traditional Mexican-American fare that most people are used to. Since this was our first visit, we played it safe and each tried a good old reliable quesadilla; one grilled chicken, one grilled steak. Both were HUGE and delicious. The steak was seasoned nicely and was still juicy despite being cut small. The chicken I had was flavorful and juicy, as well, made even better with the addition of some the the house salsa. I had rice as a side item and it was probably the best I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. I'm not sure what they season it with, but I could eat a whole bowl of it by itself. My wife had a Coke; I stuck with water. As an added bonus, when it came time to pay the bill, we were told the older couple behind us had picked up our check. To whomever you are---thank you. We'll definitely be back. P.S. One caveat; the place CAN get noisy when filled with....millennials...who have no idea what an "inside voice" is.
