Anyways, I just eaten at Shake Shack which is across the parking lot. I noticed a lot of customers leaving the shop with almost every one of them holding bags. Hmmm, my curiosity was sparked. So off I go. Everything in the shop was on sale. 50% for outdoor items (outdoor furniture, gardening decor, etc), and 30-40% off other items. They have a limited amount of furniture (bookcases, consoles, dressers, coffee/end tables, sofas) displayed in the shop and more sold online. The shop is neat and tidy but showcases a lot of merchandise, so walking around space is tight. Staff is fantastic. So friendly, helpful, engaging, and approachable. They have folks walking and working the floor. And if you are curious if Kirkland's is affiliated to Costco. Nope. It is not. Kirkland's is a home decor retail chain. The first time I shopped at a Kirkland's, I asked the staff that same question.

I have been an occasional consigner/customer with the store for the past few years. My items have…read morealways sold and always rather quickly. Unfortunately, I have had a bad experience that I feel it's important for any future consigners and/or customers to be made aware of. Last summer I dropped off some items to sell. Not long afterwards I checked my account and discovered I had sold a few of my items. My share of the proceeds came to a total f roughly $37 and some odd cents. I made the drive up to the store to pick up my check as that was how it was explained to me, the store did not mail out checks. I did not mind as I always enjoyed the store and was a good customer as well. However, when I asked for my check I was told there was not one in the "kitty" and that they would leave a message for the owner and she would contact me. Twice more I drove up the hill to the store and it was the story both times. I just now spoke with Shannon (store owner). She validated the fact that there should have been a check for $37 for me but because it had been a year, she had "no way" of giving me the money she owed me now. I am appalled by her response and just cannot grasp how someone can be so dishonest and unethical! When she decides to pay me what she owes me, I will then maybe take my comment down but not until then. Also, there were a few nicer items I delivered that have never been accounted for and when I visited the following month upon dropping them off, the staff was never able to locate them so I'm not sure what possibly could have happened to them nir did I ever received any notification as to whether they sold or were more or less donated.

Told me if I wanted help loading it, that I would have to come back another day when they had warehouse staff. Two perfectly capable men watched me lug it past them in the store then watched me from the store windows as I figured out how to load it in the van myself. Luckily it wasn't heavy, just awkward. One extra set of hands would have made loading it a breeze.

I was shopping at Lowes the other day and thought I would drop in next door to the Home Consignment…read moreshop to check out their latest inventory. I wasn't needing any "new to me" furniture, decor, or jewelry. But you know how that goes. This place is large in square footage. Stocked with gently previously owned furniture, home decor, and jewelry. The furniture quality is outstanding. The kinds of pieces solidly made not shoddy. The styles range from mid century, cherry wood Asian themed, modern farmhouse, and contemporary. So many styles. The pieces are staged in showroom type setting making everything eye catching, so much so I caught myself mentally doing a home makeup over in my mind. Hubs even found a framed lithograph art print of 1984 Laker Kareem Abdul Jabar by LeRoy Neiman. Then I happened upon the jewelry section. Letting out a big sigh, I luv looking at jewelry. They have beautiful pieces and some high end brands such as Rolex and Piguet watches, Tiffany. My eye was drawn to the vintage art deco jewelry set (necklace, bracelet, and earrings) of gold and lapis. Very unique. All the jewelry looked to be in excellent condition. The woman working the counter had a great attitude, so fun and easy to talk with. She entertained my gawking and questions. Not pushy in pressing a sale. Plus she was knowledgeable.

There is also a Fine Jewelery section which you typically do not find at a busines like this. Setup like a department store... you may view the jewelry items under glass. Value? Well, the things I am typically looking for are artificial plants like a cactus for my patio or for an indoor area I am trying to refresh. We were told they'd need to be ordered but we'd receive them the next week. Their set-up cost is way too high for a couple of stools, so we went with basic delivery. They confirmed delivery the day before but then called while we were out to dinner and told us that they only had one of two of our stools. We said we'd wait until they had both (we had one completely broken one at home and needed these). The afternoon that we should have orignally gotten the stools, I received several confusing texts asking if I wanted to schedule my delivery. Delivery of what?? After some phone calls, equally confusing, we were told to expect them this week. Well, guess what, the stools come in a box of two. They had our two stools last week but didn't know their own product lines. You can only buy them in twos. We won't be risking doing business with this store ever again. It looks like we are only one of many victims of their mismanagement. The furniture itself requires tools not provided, misaligns in several places, and is just cheaply made DIY furniture so prevalent today.
