We're a family of 2 with 2 dogs, so I don't go too much to bigger supermarkets like this one. Would rather go to Fresh and Easy or Trader Joes. Went here to get soda since Coke products were on sale, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have Magnolia brand Filipino Ice Cream!!! They have 5 flavors: Mango, Avocado, Macapuno (Sweet Coconut), Ube (Purple Yam), and Langka (Jack Fruit). One half gallon priced at $7.99, which is cheaper than Seafood City (Eagle Rock)! Magnolia ice creams brings me back to my childhood days in the Philippines. Thank you Albertson's for carrying it. I don't have to drive to Eagle Rock to get it. Place was clean and seemed well organized. Not too busy, but it was mid afternoon on a weekday when I went. Staff was friendly, and they even sampled food like at Costco. Good prices, but can management get their act together? Be prepared for lines....almost always. Heaven forbid it's a busy time, it has been 15 minutes sometimes until I get checked out. Currently waiting in line with 37 others. Two cashiers and self service is all that's open. When lines extend to the aisles, I believe that is a tell tale sign to open up more registers OR properly staff your store. Deli workers are normally really slow, but there's this one really nice Asian lady who is so polite and works really hard. Their drive up option definitely needs some improvement. I placed an order early in the morning for the 7-8pm on a Tuesday. I have a toddler and shopping for groceries, even if it is drive up isn't always the easiest thing to do especially during a pandemic. I scheduled this slot because it is the time my husband can take over bedtime. Anyway, I received an email at 6:55pm saying my order was delayed and to hold off on going to the store until I received another email saying it was ready. Since my alloted time slot ended at 8pm, I called at 7:55pm after not receiving a follow up email saying my order was ready. The woman I spoke to first informed me that there were people in front of me so I would have to wait 20 minutes for my order. I let her know about my situation and that I hadn't received a follow up to let me know if my order was even ready. She then proceeded to tell me that since I hadn't received an email saying it was ready if I could just go the following day for my order. How does this make sense? So the order isn't completed until the customer is outside waiting? And was I just not going to receive any sort of follow up email unless I called? I asked what time I should go the following day and she replied "as soon as you can." So again, how does this make sense? As soon as I can would be in the slot I picked. I then asked if I could just cancel my order because I was so frustrated. She informed me I should call the following day to cancel. This location if one of the last location left. Albertsons closed many locations recently and I can't think of another location that is still opened except the Alhambra location. I have been coming here for many years and always find exactly what I need. Albertson prices are very reasonable and I would rather shop here than Ralphs. I am very blessed there the Alhambra location is still open. This is a busy location and the staff does a great job in helping everyone. All the check out lines were opened. And if the lines are long, you have an option to check yourself out through the self check out line. The meat and seafood department served really fresh meat and the butcher is very friendly and are very helpful with recommendations. I will continue to come here and hope they will always stay open. Food is fresh, staff is friendly, and the prices are so reasonable!! Parking is ample and there is also a recycling center in the parking lot. read more

My dad came directly home from a shopping trip and realized he left his wallet at the self check out counter. We thought for sure it was lost and were stressed because my dad had stopped by the bank to withdraw a large amount of cash for bills. But when we called and spoke to the manager Audrey she said someone had turned in the wallet! I was shopping this morning at Albertson's. I arrived at store. There was a security person at the entrance. We greeted each other. I proceeded to shop. The store had about 20ppl at the most. I walked up to the deli counter. There was an employee behind the counter. No other shoppers. There was a closed sign on the counter. I asked if she was closed. She said no. She said that they were only serving seniors and the disabled. I apologized because I truly forgot. I had a mask and gloves on. There were customers in store of all ages. She said "ma'am it's all over the news". She proceeded to tell me that the security officer was supposed to check my I'd. I told her that he didn't check my I'd. Again she told me the restrictions were all over the news. I was getting upset. I went to packaged deli meat but they didn't have what I wanted. So I went back to counter. I stood there waiting for her, but she ignored me. I asked if she was going to help me. She said rudely "what do you want?" I said a lb of Turkey. She said (once again very rude) "What kind"? At this point I was so upset I told her nevermind. I walked away. I complained to the manager about her bad attitude. The cashier told me he rung up younger customers that morning. The manager pointed out that it wasnt a mandatory policy. Especially since there wasnt any lines. I always shop at Albertson's spending 800.00 a month in groceries. I now will shop at Ralph's. I've been coming to this location since I lived there in the area. The self checkout Diana is always rude to me always starting at me and profiling me when I come in the store. I watch her everytime be friendly with other shoppers but when it comes to me and some others I noticed, she's not so friendly. Last night on January 6 2023, I purchased some sweet chili sauce at the self checkout and after I paid and was headed out, she chose to stop and ask me did I have alcohol in my bag. I looked at her in confusion and told her no and I know that alcohol won't scan at self checkout without prompting for a cashier so there's no way in hell she could have thought I had alcohol in my bag. I asked her why she thought I had alcohol and her response was "I heard a clink that sounded like alcohol." I asked her is alcohol the only item in the store that is stored in a glass container and she didn't know what else to say. Diana, you know what you tried to do and I will not be letting this go! I work for the county of Los Angeles and she should be more careful when profiling people because you might just profile the wrong person; and trust, it will be my pleasure to make sure she understands her actions will not go unnoticed and she will think twice before profiling people again. I bought a dozen peaches about ten days ago. Big, beautiful peaches. Picture postcard perfect. Twice the price peaches were selling elsewhere, so I was surprised when I began eating them a few days later that they were rotten! All of them. I don't know how such beautiful peaches become rotten, I suspect they are frozen somewhere along the road from orchard to market. I remember my cashier. Michael Salinas, he was taking care of the customer ahead of me, a white guy. "Hello sir, did you find everything you needed?" So I was surprised how he treated me, not so much as a hello, I could see Salinas knows how to treat a customer, just not me. I don't want much, maybe just a smile. read more

I live about a block and a half from this location so you might guess I frequent this place very often. This store is always clean, organized and full of helpful staff. The staff always greet you and are willing to assist, anytime you need. During the current stay at home order, due to the pandemic.. I have to give this place kudos for all their hard work on their efficient, safe and cleanly procedures.. most of the time I go, they usually have sanitizing wipes for your carts and most items I need (minus the Lysol wipes and sprays, which I've come to believe are no longer available to the LA County area since EVERY STORE I've been to are ALWAYS out of stock). Note to Albertsons: Please make sure the produce on sale are actually well-stocked. When customers ask the employee, it should not be as if an adult is nagging a child. For example, "Do you have any more of this product in the back?" "Yes." "Can you bring some out?" "Yes." "Like right now?" "*sigh* Yes." And please coach your employees to not scream at other employees half of the produce section away. Oh, maybe tell them to not complain about customers in FRONT of them when shouting to another worker. I thought about complaining to the manager, but I looked up on YELP to get started on my review and I noticed that this store has a problem with apathetic employees and managers. So talking to someone higher up probably won't do anything other than frustrate me even more. So this grocery market's customer service sucks more than the two famously lame characters Chris Parnell voice acts for (Cyril from Archer and Jerry from Rick and Morty). Yeah, that bad. Then why two stars instead of one? Well they have an amazingly large parking lot, and their produce is usually pretty fresh and good. Haven't had any problems with it yet, and they do have pretty awesomely darn good deals. Like sometimes they have $1.89 a bag of chips if you get 3 bags, and their fab5 is kind of a nice deal. They should really take down their 3's a crowd posters everywhere. It claims they open up more lines if there are more than 3 people in line. Ive been here a dozen times and the lines are always all over 5 and there are only 2 registers. Which is fine. If its busy you have to wait. Its just really embarrassing when your standing in a long line decorated with signs saying they cut the lines down. My husband had an encounter with a very rude employee. It's raining out and my husband had his hood on, was by the produce getting jalapeños when this employee decided to start pointing at him and having the security call over loud speaker to "check all cameras", he ignored it and continued to shop and went to pay when this same lady was talking about "a Mexican man in a hood trying to rob the store"... at that point my husband got really irritated at the scene this employee was making and said to her "that's me you're talking about and had you came up to me and asked me to take my hood off I would have no problem". She not only racially profiled him, she made a scene and made him feel very uncomfortable. It's unaccounted and this employee should be fired for being a racist! You work in a city full of minorities and those comments are unacceptable! I understand the issue with him wearing his hood and that could have been addressed with a simple request to take it off. This is for their bakery. I've ordered so many cakes from the past never had problems until the last couple years I've noticed a big change. They've been very selective on what you can do with cakes and they mess them up. When we ask for a cake they say they don't have it or they can't make it in that size or don't do that flavor etc etc. Don't even bother ordering online you select what you want and turns out they don't make it. I had called to confirm a cake order online little did I know if I wouldn't of called no one would of called me to let me know they couldn't make the decoration I asked for. I had to go in to chose one from their catalog. Also with decorating the cakes they can't customize it with a topper that you bring in. We had to put it in ourselves at home. This defeats the purpose of customizing cakes with them. That cake we ordered was suppose to be marble and it was half white and have chocolate. Not making what we asked for. The last encounter was it for me. I went to pick up my cake and they messed up on the name. They left one letter out. This was made on edible paper which looked really pretty but because they had to fix it. They had to go over it with icing and mess up the pretty lettering. The writing was really sloppy and not done well. That's nothing compared to how dry the cake was. It was not fresh and did not taste well. The embarrassing part was for the event having to hear how bad and dry the cake tasted. Horrible!! They need to fix their staff or training with their bakery department. read more

Employees here think they are doing you a favor by serving you. App sucks and sometimes we need help understanding how to use their app. The app is poorly made and not intuitive. Cashier was snappy when I tried to figure how to use the app. I work for a software company and understand technology, as an employee you are not to degrade me because your app sucks. I had to go to customer service to return stuff that was advertised wrong and I was over charged. Not at all happy with this location. I bought a $27 glass vase a month ago and the bottom fell out after only one use. Water everywhere. I would have returned it had I kept the receipt. Two grocery items were missing. 2nd time, DD left delivery, didn't knock or ring my door bell. There were frozen and frig items. One item was missing. This is our usual grocery store since its the closest to home. They are now using stamps to collect for Rachel Ray kitchenware after they took away the membership card. I just started using it so let's see what happens. They have pretty good selection of everything. Things that are on sale are at great prices, but regular priced items are normally pretty pricy. The produce and meats are pretty fresh and organized. The deli has some great prepared food, but some are ok. They have a great Monday Dinner special that includes a rotisserie chicken, 1 lb of potato or mac salad, 1 lb of potatoe wedges and a 4-pk of King's Hawaiian rolls for $7.99. The parking is good as it is in a midsize shopping area and conveniently located near Fremont and Commonwealth near Costco. Plus, they have some pretty cool soda box art. ;) read more

This place has self check outs. Which to someone who likes to abuse "the system" and find all those little sort of life hacks -- is something I really need to not get too giddy about abusing. If there's one thing about drinking a lot and being socially awkward to the point that even carrying on a conversation with a judgmental yet total stranger of a cashier is that you don't really want to deal with anyone when you're trying to buy it. Least you be looked at like a complete alcoholic for buying a handle of vodka at 7am on a Sunday. Don't you judge me! So it's nice not to have any social interaction with a fellow human being by taking the self-check out machine option. Sadly, in the state of California there's a "no alcohol purchase through self check out" law that passed this year. I think it has something to do with the fourth lesser known Laws of Robotics: 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws. 4. A robot can not egg on its human companion to get crunk and make bad life decisions by purchasing alcohol through them. In any event, the best way to get around this, I've found, is to just apply the banana discount at the grocery store. See, just go in and grab a handle of your favorite "reality-suppressant" and then just simply tell the self check out machine that you are buying bananas. They're like fifty cents per pound or so. After it will simply ask you to put the "bananas" on the scanner -- at which point you simply put the bottle of grandpa's medicine on top and it rings it up as bananas. Fifty cents. And just in case you aren't a ragingly clever alcoholic like myself, you can do this for anything. Usually it's best to wait until the attendant wanders off, but chances are anyone who works at Albertsons doesn't give much of a shit about anything anyway. If you don't want to flat out shop lift from the store, you can always just ring up some fake item for the equivalent price and pay it, so if they catch you (they won't) you've only broken the stupid California liquor law and no one cares about those anyway, least of all the early shift Albertsons attendants. Again, this is all just ways to hack life. Which don't think that hacking is only limited to hacking said gibson with a keyboard and bad 90's computer knowledge. . . The original hacking was done with a simple Captain Crunch whistle and pay phones. So there you go. This Alberston's is much like any other -- but only it has a nice exposed under belly that you can poke at with your mighty life hack skillz. Oh yeah, I guess they have a BoA in here, but I won't teach you (for the sole purpose of educational reasons, of course) how to fuck around with the ATM. It's a nice store. The pros are I like the butcher the area smells clean and the meat is presentable. They're produce is nicely shown for my shopping convenience. They carry my French wine.However, at times they leave high staked boxes unattended in the aisles and the store music has not been playing recently. They have a vigilant recovery team. So far every visit is action packed with people being chased or detained for stealing. it makes me feel like I'm in a movie of some kind so I don't mind. They do have a Starbucks but that's a different review. read more

This review is only for the deli service counter. I came here because I had gone to a few get- togethers with friends recently and they used Albertson's for fried chicken party packs. I thought the chicken was tasty so I decided to do the same for a last minute get together I was hosting. I came in on a Wednesday evening to place an order for a Saturday event. I placed an order for the 50 pieces mixed fried chicken box and a medium croissant sandwich party tray which serves 20-26 people. The lady who helped me was very friendly and courteous. When I went to pick up my order on Saturday afternoon, it was ready at the time promised. The chicken smelled delicious and the sandwich tray looked really good. The sandwiches were stacked nicely and I could tell that they tried to vary the meats and cheeses. The sandwiches came with generous containers of sandwich spread, mustard and gherkins. The whole thing was packaged nicely and securely so as to avoid spillage in the car. I had already prepared my side salads and accompaniments, but if I absolutely had no time to prepare or cook --the deli also has a variety of additional cold and hot items to choose from to complete your meal. I found the prices on their catering/party tray items to be very reasonable, especially after tasting the items and being pleased that my guests also enjoyed the food. I definitely recommend Alberston's service deli when thinking of having family or friends over for a casual get-together. read more

This spot rocks for my 5 Golden Rings!....I hit up the bakery to get that chocolate pie craving; Redbox the latest DVD(Paranormal Activity 2 Sucks big balls); grab those I need now items; get that last second gift for that obligatory family member or coworker(so I don't feel like a total DH), and I skip to the self checkout lanes. I once saw this asian guy with the following items on the conveyor ahead of me...1 gallon of strawberry ice cream, a couple of fresh Kiwis, whipped cream, and size D duracells.
