I'm giving two stars to this place thanks to one of the employees in the deli department. This morning after paying for my order I went back to the deli department to pick up my order. I was waiting for someone behind the counter to be available to give my receipt to. A lady came up to their warmer where they keep their hot food and just completely ignored me. A second female employee told her "I'll help the customer" she turned around and told her "I wasn't gonna help" and walked away. I couldn't believe what I heard. I even told the lady who ended up helping me that her coworker shouldn't act like that, we spend our money there and we don't deserve that kind of service. read more

Stopped in on my way home from work to get some meat and I got what I wanted (see photos) and I got it at a great price. Albertson's always has top grade meat and it cooks up fantastically. Even after I freeze it with my foodsaver, it thaws nicely and cooks up good. Very fresh and tasty beef... The seafood is amazing too. Oh, and I do love their deli fried chicken, tenders and spicy hot wings. The staff here is friendly and helpful. Great neighborhood market!! read more

I've been shopping at this market for years and have always had great service. The areas are clean. The music playing on the speakers is good. Not some too loud but nice ambience to shop to. The fruits and veggies are fresh. I like the deli department selection as well as the daily made sushi. Also the kids go crazy happy at the big toys section they have all year long. I'm really happy that they sell make up as well so I don't have to go to some specialty store and I can get everything done in one place. Keep up the good work everybody. read more

I had "clipped" a coupon for $1.97/lb chicken on the app but it didn't come off on the receipt and she was nice enough to help me and refund the money I was overcharged. I have bought fresh shrimp and fish in the seafood section. They have rotisserie chicken with potato Wedges as well. Earlier this week the standard marked run was executed and this time ALBERTSONS was given a try. The selection was anything like before the pandemic although the crew was diligent and attentive. For this evening a different type of recipe was attempted for the 2nd or 3rd time... ground beef with seasonings of black pepper and garlic salt and onion diced. This review is for the deli only. Staff and courtesy clerks are always pleasant here. Manager is always so nice and helpful. I absolutely cannot stand the deli at this Albertsons. I waited for 5-10 minutes at the deli while a lady behind the counter was cutting cheese and Turkey. I figured-- hey maybe she is helping another customer and she'll help me after. Nope. I was wrong. She didn't bother to acknowledge me or my husband. Kept going on about her day... other guy in the deli named Nick also saw us but didn't bother to ask if we needed help. I went to grab a few things from produce while my husband waited. I come back and he still hadn't been helped. At this point I'm so irritated because I don't have time to wait the whole night for Turkey breast. I asked the lady if we could get some help and she snapped back at me saying she's busy. Oh? Excuse me. I get it you're busy but shouldn't you be cutting up Turkey and cheese on your down time? I finally figured out she was doing that for the pre sliced deli meats they keep in the cold case out front. At this point is when the other employee, Nick, comes to help. With attitude of course. I could not wait to update this review! This is the first time I came back here in years, and we had a great time. Everything is clean and spacious, no messes on the floor, and the most important thing was that every employee had a huge smile on their face. This is bigger than the usual Ralphs I go to and I will definitely be coming back here. The butcher and the seafood section, the bakery was large, and the deli was glorious. Was really put off by my experience at the store today. I saw a salad kit which, according to its label, was only one day away from its expiration date. It still looked fine, so I figured maybe I'd ask for a possible markdown and take it off their hands, rather than them just letting it go to waste. But the lady at the counter refused, saying they don't do markdowns, which is a complete lie! They have three racks full of clearance items toward the back of the store. They'd rather throw that salad out than profit by selling it with a discount? Where's the logic there? He swiftly informed us about the aisle and when we failed to find it again, he took us there. It was kinda romantic ngl. Get you a man who can be assertive like that. I just had an embarrassing situation at this Albertsons. I had a gift card on my phone (mind you, I use gift cards at Vons and other Albertsons and never had a problem before) but for some reason I was singled out at this one. The manager would NOT let me use my gift card on my phone. She said it was because of fraud. I had a line forming behind me and my wallet was in my car. I felt embarrassed, weirdly ashamed and singled out. Why would this store not allow for gift cards over the phone but the others would? read more

I had just gotten done eating lunch with my friend. We forewent the coffee stop, and soon realized what a mistake that was. So we drove a block north of where we were, and found this Albertsons. I went straight to where the drinks are, and got myself an energy drink. Although I don't drink that stuff much anymore, I figured once in a blue moon wouldn't hurt. My friend got a big bag of chips, and we were off. This Albertsons is clean and well organized. It's a bit chilly inside, which was welcome because of the hot day. There were not too many people there at the time, which is normal because it was just before noon on a weekday. Their self-checkout was quick and painless. Although I'm rarely in need of a grocery store when I come to Alhambra, this is a great place to shop. read more

What a horrible experience! I witness a manager and a cashier be extremely rude to a young lady. The young lady was trying to purchase beer with her identification. She got denied because she showed her Mexican ID. To be asking that is not good enough, is unacceptable. Who is he to judge someone. All that is needed is her birthdate. The racial slurs were unacceptable, this could of been all avoided if the cashier would of accepted and put her date birth. I talked to the young lady, and she was completely devastated. In tears poor girl. She had never experienced it. To have it happen at a grocery, during this time period is ridiculous. All of management and cashiers need a lot of training because obviously they don't know how to handle these type of situations. Albertsons stop this nonsense and learn from these mistakes. I went in on a weds to order a cake for my sons 1st birthday. I was eventually helped by a lady (who now come to think of it was there when I picked up the cake and didn't admit it was her) there was a a 10in round cake on display it was hombre with rosettes I asked her do u think this is to feminine for a boys birthday? She said she can smooth it out without the rosettes around the cake. I said ok great! Decided on blue and white and also a matching 5" round cake for smash cake.. Fast forward to Saturday pick up, the older lady was rude and rushed. I said it was supposed to be smooth, "we don't do that" I said I don't know why I would be making it up? I asked the other lady (who Helped me weds) why the print out said chocolate cake when I ordered white.. she said no worries it's what we print out it's the same price (WHEN I CUT INTO THE CAKE SURPRISE CHOCOLATE not white) When I went to go pay I came back to pick it up and she said I asked everyone and no one said that.. ok So what's the point of asking around ? You want to prove that your right ?? Again why would I make it up I then asked if they could write on the top like it said on the order form "We can but it'll be too bumpy on top" I said exactly that's why the would the lady ask for what I wanted on top of it was going to be bumpy. She offered a cheap looking cake topper The lady doesn't have a nice bone in her body.. offering that cake topper looked like a sad and forced attempt at being nice.. One of the cashiers at this location was incredibly rude to my mother. She need assistance with using the Albertson app with a previous time purchase for the 10$ off coupon you get for using the app and While I understand employees are in no way obligated to help people with technology there was no needed for what that employee proceeded to do. The employee by the first name Chris and last name starts with Riv** proceed to shout and chase her out of the line. The normal and polite thing to do would have been to say it is policy that employees do not touch the personal belongings of customers or something professional along those lines. I have no clue if there is such a policy but even without a policy you can politely refuse to assist with the customer there is no needed to shout someone out the line in the way he did. she even barely interacted with the person. she wanted to get out of the line to let other customer go first because she could not locate the 10 dollar coupon on the app since the employee was not going to and she wanted more time she went in line to pay for her items knocked one item over but up righted it then say if the employee could help with using the app but he looked at her then say she did not need to buy the items and to get out loudly while embarrassing her publicly for barely even talking to the employee. The employee decided that she does not need to buy the items for her. I'm sorry my mother is not technology savvy enough and I get that they might be having a bad day working a low wage job but seriously if talking to a elder woman of 73 asking for a tiny bit of help and you cannot even politely interact with people then maybe do not work a job as cashier or any job that requires interacting with other human beings. From other reviews on this site I see that My mother is not the first one to have problems with employees at this Albertsons TL;DR: find another Albertson's it seems the way they hire people at the one in Alhambra they either overwork some of their employees or some of them cannot handle human interaction some of the employees at the deli/bakery were very polite to my mother though Her only real complaint was the cashier working during the evening. This review if from my experience last night. I use to like going to albertsons because I feel they have cheap, affordable groceries especially when on sale. After last night experience, I don't think I would ever go back! I came here to buy some cheese so I can make my sandwich. I bought a Kraft brand provolone cheese hoping to make a good breakfast sandwich in the morning. The next morning I open the package, I see it molded!!! I look at the expiration date and it was from Sept 10, 2017!!! I was disappointed and mad! It was on sale though, $3. I was really going to return it but I couldn't find my receipt! I'm so mad! I had to throw a whole package of cheese away! Other than the stocking people not doing their jobs right, the customer service is horrible! Long lines on all the self checkout lanes, only having 3 regular cashiers and they had long lines too! I needed help on my self checkout lane because I thought I put in the wrong item when it was on sale(thinking I was charged the regular price). I turned around and asked for help and there was 3 people standing there talking! I said, "excuse me" and 2 of them walked away, while the other lady whom I assume was in charge of the self checkout picked up a phone call. So, I was just standing there which seemed so long and I felt bad because people behind me where probably hating on me for slowing down the line. I decided to just leave it and looked at my items again and they prices on the screen. They turned out the correct amount in the end. Just because of these 2 bad experiences, I am no longer coming back to albertsons. I would rather go to ralphs or another albertsons location. Cheap items for somethings, wait for those coupons in the mail or flyers letting you know when those items are on sale. Don't buy into their 10 for $10 deals, most of the time they aren't deals. Usually you can find those items cheaper elsewhere and you also have to reserve pantry space. Also for liquor you have to buy 6 bottles to get a cheaper price, I guess that's okay for parties or but for one person that's encouragement to be an alcoholic. :O There is plenty of parking by navigating that back corner lot in front of Albertsons can be take a few minutes, you have the recycling place and Party City and Toy R Us sharing the same huge lot. Large Albertsons! They have a deli and fried chicken counter and well stocked produce section, though I don't make purchases in these sections. For example in the produce Kale was 99 cents for a bunch, not bad but at Super King Markets they are 99 cents for two and the bunches are bigger. :) When stuff goes on sale here don't be surprised that the items sell out quickly and you need to take a rain check. The meat department is the best. They have cut top round for jerky for me a handful of times and they do such a great job. The meat manager is friendly and goes out of the way to help. After getting my Cesar salad today for lunch, i asked her whether i could check out at the deli counter, but she pointed to the regular lines and said "there is registrar over there". As a result, i had to wait in line at the regular check-out line due to her laziness and unprofessionalism, while i could have just paid for my salad at the deli counter To be fair, in the past, other staff were friendly and always helped me check out at the deli counter. Good prices, but can management get their act together? Be prepared for lines....almost always. Heaven forbid it's a busy time, it has been 15 minutes sometimes until I get checked out. Currently waiting in line with 37 others. Two cashiers and self service is all that's open. When lines extend to the aisles, I believe that is a tell tale sign to open up more registers OR properly staff your store. Deli workers are normally really slow, but there's this one really nice Asian lady who is so polite and works really hard. Their drive up option definitely needs some improvement. I placed an order early in the morning for the 7-8pm on a Tuesday. I have a toddler and shopping for groceries, even if it is drive up isn't always the easiest thing to do especially during a pandemic. I scheduled this slot because it is the time my husband can take over bedtime. Anyway, I received an email at 6:55pm saying my order was delayed and to hold off on going to the store until I received another email saying it was ready. Since my alloted time slot ended at 8pm, I called at 7:55pm after not receiving a follow up email saying my order was ready. The woman I spoke to first informed me that there were people in front of me so I would have to wait 20 minutes for my order. I let her know about my situation and that I hadn't received a follow up to let me know if my order was even ready. She then proceeded to tell me that since I hadn't received an email saying it was ready if I could just go the following day for my order. How does this make sense? So the order isn't completed until the customer is outside waiting? And was I just not going to receive any sort of follow up email unless I called? I asked what time I should go the following day and she replied "as soon as you can." So again, how does this make sense? As soon as I can would be in the slot I picked. I then asked if I could just cancel my order because I was so frustrated. She informed me I should call the following day to cancel. I am so frustrated with this store and how they handle the drive up option. read more

I really like Albertsons, but I'm pretty incompetent when my mom says, "Go buy some CHINESE BROCCOLI, not AMERICAN BROCCOLI! And TAIWAN SPINACH...not AMERICAN SPINACH. And KOREAN PEAR, etc." What?!?! Luckily Albertsons and I are on the same page! If you're looking for MULTI-CULTURAL spinach/cabbage/eggplants, a giant selection of seafood, and parts of animals you didn't. even know existed...chances are you're better off at an asian supermarket (i.e. 168, Cali Mart, etc.). Albertsons is the straight forward American supermarket with a bunch of American produce, deli, baked goods, etc. Fruits, vegetables, and meats are more expensive than asian supermarkets, but if I look for things like condiments, pasta, juice, I usually find more deals at Albertsons. Ultimately, Albertsons is my go-to market since it's so close to home, it's usually cheaper than Ralphs, and again...because I can't tell if a plant is Made in Taiwan or Made in the U.S.A. read more

My dad came directly home from a shopping trip and realized he left his wallet at the self check out counter. We thought for sure it was lost and were stressed because my dad had stopped by the bank to withdraw a large amount of cash for bills. But when we called and spoke to the manager Audrey she said someone had turned in the wallet! We're a family of 2 with 2 dogs, so I don't go too much to bigger supermarkets like this one. Would rather go to Fresh and Easy or Trader Joes. Went here to get soda since Coke products were on sale, and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have Magnolia brand Filipino Ice Cream!!! They have 5 flavors: Mango, Avocado, Macapuno (Sweet Coconut), Ube (Purple Yam), and Langka (Jack Fruit). One half gallon priced at $7.99, which is cheaper than Seafood City (Eagle Rock)! Magnolia ice creams brings me back to my childhood days in the Philippines. Thank you Albertson's for carrying it. I don't have to drive to Eagle Rock to get it. Place was clean and seemed well organized. Not too busy, but it was mid afternoon on a weekday when I went. Staff was friendly, and they even sampled food like at Costco.
