I'm a frequent customer. Tonight was the worst customer service experience I had. Francisco took the drive-thru order and he was inpatient from the start. He was frustrated that we took a few minutes to order. He rushed us from the get-go.I overheard him on the intercom when he said "chingao" Once we approached the pick-up window, I asked him why he was being rude. I told him it was uncalled for. He said there were people behind us. I explained we only took 1 min to decide on our order. He never apologized. It was quite obvious he doesn't like his job and takes it out on the customer. Totally unacceptable. read more

Alberto's - MENU PRICING AS OF 02/28/2024 - Mexican Near Me - El Monte, California

I can't believe I never came in here until recently! This is my new to-go place if I want some burritos and al pastor fries. So juicy and delicious! This is not for the healthy eaters so make sure you have a good attitude and appetite when you order. Food portions are huge, so plenty to share around. If you eat a burrito on its own, you'll be so full. You can ask for no beans, if you're like me and not a fan of them (sorry, not sorry). And if you're lucky, you might see some roosters wandering around while you wait in the car for the drive through. There is also the option to go inside to place the order but location is small FYI and you would need to do street parking. read more

I went to the wrong Alberto's. My navigation took me a little far off, but it's still an Alberto's. I come in for the taquitos and the bean burrito and I wasn't disappointed . Another feeling order I swear to you when the lady hand the bag about falls out of your hand cause you're not used to food weighing that much. They definitely feed you, place to sit it's did you did I'm just editing the a takeout spot read more

Quick bite drive through food to go spot. There is a small sitting area outside. Burritos were pretty good and the French fries were really good. I have been there a few times and found the service staff to be fantastic. read more

This place just always hits the spot. When it gets busy, you can see the drive thru line overflowing into the street a bit. I prefer it over all the other similar chains like Albert's, Alfredo's, etc. The other places just doesn't do it justice like this one... prices have gone up over the years, but it's still very reasonable given then amount of food they give you. The food and salsas just hit the spot. I got 10 Taquitos $10 + ( a bit over fried today, but still okay) and a side of rice and beans $4.50+ I went during lunch time today and boy that was a bad decision. Probably about 7 cars ahead of me, and it was about 30 minutes before I got my food. I'll keep coming back, just maybe not during the lunch rush .... read more

I think this location is the last remaining Alberto's in SGV. Similar to Alfredo's, small drive thru take out shack. Morning drive thru was quick, food came out fast and was made to order. This is a staple in El Monte. The menu is vast and lots of options. It's located in a busy part of town and the speaker at the drive through needs some fine tuning. My go to meals is the 10 rolled taquitos with the guacamole and cheese. That's fire....... The tacos are gigantic and in most cases 1-2 will pretty much fill you up. Other than that, theres not a lot of frills but definitely get the taquitos. read more

(FOOD) I used to LOVE coming here as a kid and grubbing on their super fries. The portion size was huge. It had crispy fries with melted cheese, asada, guac, sour cream, beans, and pico de gallo. Mix in the red and green sauce and it was orgasmic omggg. I just had it again for the first time in years and the portion is still massive but they no longer add pico de gallo? Or maybe they just forgot this time? It was kind of a bummer. I hope they just forgot instead of removing ingredients permanently... (SERVICE) Standard. (PLACE) You know the place is good when it's a lil run down looking shack. It has a drive thru and some tables outside. (VERDICT) Great place for Mexican food after a night of drinking. Open 24/7 so it's convenient. Unfortunately it's not the same quality I remember from high school but still good. (: read more

I come here whenever I'm craving a burrito. I really like the Carne asada one. It's my favorite. It comes with the meat, guacamole, & Pico de Gallo. That's the main reason I like these burritos. They don't come with rice and beans. Price is decent. Service has been okay. I usually do drive-thru so don't interact much with the staff. read more

I moved from San Diego to Los Angeles a few years ago. I have been looking for a taco shop that would satisfy my Mexican food cravings since. In SD, you can't go five miles without driving by a drive thru taco shop. That in itself, a drive thru taco shop, seems to be a unicorn in LA. A local LA fav makes carne asada that is overwhelmed with lime. I like a balanced flavored burrito/taco where one flavor doesn't overpower the other ingredients. My test for a new taco shop is they must make a good carne asada burrito. If the taco shop can't make this basic staple, then I need to move on. I don't care too much for fillers like rice, beans or potatoes. We drive 20 min to get here (yea, Fas Trak). So far, we have had the machaca burrito (no cheese), chorizo burrito, carne asada burrito (of course!), shredded beef tacos and rolled tacos topped with carne asada (check out the pic). All were yummy. Didn't give them five stars because there is a minor issue with consistency on the shredded beef tacos and machaca burrito. but they were still good. My BF was born and has lived in SD all his 50 some years of life. He grew up eating at taco shops. This is the only place we have found that makes food like the taco shops we love in SD. read more

This location is sooooo good! Came by with my bf for a late night food run, and went through drive through. They're super quick and the wait wasn't long for 12/1 AM. Ordered the carne asada burrito (for the bf) and the SUPREME quesadilla. Their supreme quesadilla is BOMB!!!! Honestly, it's like a flat burrito with cheese, but the filling is flavorful in every bite. Inside there is pico de gallo, cheese, carne asada meat, lettuce, and cilantro. There were two huge pieces in the box, since their tortillas are pretty big, and it was worth every penny. Would recommend this location for their quality food and late night drunchies run. You won't regret it. read more

Wish they added pico de Gallo on their carne asada fries!! Carne asada fries 10/10 - their portion size is HUGE, the price raise is still worth it - I always ask for pico de Gallo but they always forget to add it :( - their refried beans are one of my favorite in El Monte!!! - fries taste like McDonald fries which is AMAZING! Horchata 10/10 - HUGE! - tastes pretty good but I think it's not freshly made but from a tap but that's okay!! This has always been a solid spot for me and the best spot in El Monte! Albertos has always been a hit or miss for me. Some days the food would be good and seasoned well while on other days it can be quite bland. You can't go wrong with the price and its huge portions. There aren't a lot of Mexican restaurants that are open 24/7 except for the other Albertos wannabe locations so I guess this place would be okay after getting shitfaced at the club or getting high with the homies. Even during a pandemic theyre still open. read more

Tiny shack in a tiny lot with some outdoor tables. Parking is a serious pain though, so stick to the drive through. You'll be trapped in the lot if the drive through is busy. Wait can be long at peak hours. Sometimes cars in the drive through spill onto the street. I've never had an issue with service though. They take cash and card, but card has a $.50 fee. As for the food, I usually stick to the asada versions of the burritos, chimichangas, quesadillas, and super fries. Pricing is great, but meat quality is never consistent. Sometimes you get decent pieces, sometimes you get gristle. It's not bad enough to stop me from coming back, but if I lived closer to another spot, I'd switch loyalty without hesitation. read more

I have been an ardent fan of Alberto's on Brookhurst in Anaheim because the flavors of the food are quite delicious. However, this last time my husband and I ordered at Albertos, the cashier was more interested in talking to the cook. Our order was completely wrong. While we were waiting for our order, two other cars placed orders and she did not write anything down or entered in a Pad. She just said, "come to the window". I am curious if she handled their order like ours. Of course, I could have opened up the order and check, but burritos are hard to open up in the car, etc. Also, when we got home, we DID NOT want to go back to Albertos! I then decided to write on Yelp. It's a shame that talking to a coworker is more important than the customers. Albertos just lost a great customer, me! Susan Stoltz read more

Great food. Been going ever since the mid 90s in general & this one is very good. The new girls at the checkout window need to pay attention to the drive up customers instead of talking & laughing too much inside with other coworkers cuz they've been getting our orders wrong. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYMORE BUSINESS! This saddens me to post because I used to love coming here growing up. Their asada fries and burritos were always so delicious and PACKED! Now, they mess up my order every chance they get, whether I order through the drive thru or walk in. I could literally spell out what I wanted and they would still find a way to mess it up. And when it comes time to rectify or fix my order, they play dumb for a while before offering to fix it. The only thing I wish I could get back at that point is my wasted time and energy. Not returning anytime soon. read more
