While it's never fun to visit Service Canada this one is leaps and bounds better than the Canada Place building downtown in both speed and comfort. The parking lot is a bit odd - entrance is on the north side of the building. And when you enter you have to snake around the elevators before you realize where you are or how to access the actual Service Canada part. Hopefully I won't need to go back for a few years but when I do need to renew another passport, I know where I'll be headed to!

If you can LRT it, that's a good plan but I feel ya in the cold blizzard winter months, parking it is. At least Revel is located next door if you manage to come here in the late afternoon and can hit happy hour next door afterwards. Be prepared to wait for days, well more likely hours but it feels like days when you're needing help at the passport office. Immigration and citizenship are also handled here - spent many, many hours here but thankfully that's done! As well as taxes, yuck. There are pedways connected to many other spots here including the Shaw Convention centre. In the basement is a small food court but it's PRICEY - why? Why can't you just have a subway or something delicious and reasonable like that?

I went in to Service Canada to file my EI for maternity benefits and did so without any issues. A month later I was back to get a S.I.N. for my daughter. I was very thankful I was able to sit with someone and discuss the process and have my questions answered. The entire process took less than half an hour but it was time I know would have been much longer if I had to do it on my own.
