A friend of mine lives in this neighbourhood and invited me to bring my family along to an Easter Egg Hunt, being hosted by the Community League. No need to register, just wander around the play park gather at least 5 eggs then bring them back to swap for Easter chocolate. There were kids doing outdoor zumba to burn off all that chocolate too. It was very community orientated and such a lovely place to take little kids. The park itself is awesome, we went back yesterday to play basketball with our daughter although she was more interested in the climbing frame and the slides. The climbing frame is actually really cool and has a little stage to perform, if your kids are into that and a mp of Canada to make sure they know whih province they are in. Very educational and quiet!! There slightly bigger play area, basketball net, BBQ, covered seating and a spray park in summer too. It's got it all really, if you have a young family and want to hang out at a park that's not overflowing with kids... this is it!

We went to use the stairs for some exercise and boy was it every nice! The sun was shining, the kids were hopped up on sugar from our outing to the D Spot Cafe, and it was a great afternoon spent here. We did the stairs which are straight up with quite a few landing areas and even some benches on some of the landings. They have a hill where you can toboggan in winter as well. There was a cute bridge and lots of walking paths in this area too if stairs are not your thing. But highly recommend this park and there are bathrooms which is important when you have littles, and it's wide open so easy to keep an eye on them as well.

Little community league spray parks like this are a real gem! With playground equipment designed for toddlers and bigger kids AND a section of swings, this community league has got it all. There is a green shack here in the summer but I think the hours were 230-6PM Monday through Friday so we just missed them opening. Back behind the grassy knoll were great hills that just begged for bike riding fun or sledding in the winter! The park is fenced off with a couple entrances/exits but I REALLY appreciate limtied entries and exits when watching multiple kiddos 5 & under at a park! The water portion was small in comparison to the spray and splash parks listed on the city of Edmonton website but this is still a total gem! There was more than enough water features to keep the approximately 30 kids in the water entertained and the sandy toddler area also had toddler height sand/water tables for more fun play! There were washrooms available for our use and the Ottewell Community League playschool was also on site today. Man... If I lilved here, I would most DEFINITELY be having my kiddo's next birthday party here! There is a fairly large covered area with multiple picnic tables and quite a few shady spots and benches around the park. This particular visit was rather humorous because I had to rescue some screaming kidlets from squishing and stepping on poo that some kid left on the ground - YUCK! Thankfully, the washrooms came in handy so I could grab some paper towels and clean it up best I could for the kidlets! If you have toddler or little kids, then this park is worth the drive from anywhere around Edmonton! Or if you are shopping for a place to move and raise kids and want to be near Capillano, this may be just the neighbourhood for you!

People come from all other neighbourhoods to enjoy the park and spray park. There is a great Green Shack program for the older kids through out the summer. And through the winter the full size skating rink is amazing with a full size locker room for changing comfortably. It's always clean and there are great things for the kids to play with young and old. It's also a busy little Hall for events and bookings. With seating capacity up to 120, there is a electric fire place and a projector with a screen for all this slide shows. The best thing about the hall is the huge chef's kitchen. Tons of room with all the bells and whistles for catering your own events. It also has a nice bar with a huge fridge and serving area for that professional touch. Did I mention the commercial Ice Maker? Yeah one of those too! The rental rates are fantastic and even better if you a community league member!

It was awesome, outdoor zumba with loud music and dancing! It was a fundraiser for the community league which is a great idea from the instructors. A few years ago before the hall was renovated, they had a craft day. What a great idea, I hope they do this again! We could scrapbook, or make cards for a day and they also provided dinner and snacks. Great event and great to meet people from the neighbourhood. I hope they consider doing this again. Now the hall is renovated and it's nice! The floor is nice, kitchen area big, and clean washrooms. It gets a little warm for zumba when we're all hot and sweaty but there's a door that can get the air flowing. Sometimes they have craft type shows there and the space isn't huge but it's cool to check out some vendors. The annual community league day is coming up with family activities and fireworks too! Great to have community leagues in the neighbourhood to offer great programming just outside the back door!

It was my first time in here today and it is a very interesting space. I have walked past so many…read moretimes and have always wondered exactly what a free mason is, I still don't know. Regardless of the unknown this space is awesome. Good bathrooms, an upstairs with balcony look downs, cool arched windows, and really beautiful thin wood floors. I feel like this would be a nice place to have a wedding or anniversary party as there is also a stage for bands and a kitchen area off the front.
