After unsuccessfully searching for parts at three stores, I began calling service companies to find parts. I spoke with Josh(?) and he had all the required parts and quoted me a very attractive price and could complete repairs that same day. This was already 3:00 pm! He went above and beyond, completed a thorough inspection, made reasonable recommendations and replaced and tuned not only the broken spring but all the other parts that made everything work as new. I got to watch! Thank You! PS, he was finished by 5:00!!! Highly recommend Boulder Garage Door. Yelp erroneously has their name as "Golden" Garage Door with address in Wa state.

That was it. The part that really bothered me was the pricing. The springs were purchased separately from a different company for about $500, which is already a fair price for high-quality garage door springs. However, this company charged an additional $599 just for an adjustment. That's a huge markup for such a short visit and minimal labor. To make things even more questionable, the technician brought his 10-year-old child along while performing the work. I'm all for supporting family-run businesses -- I respect people who work hard and include their families -- but there's a time and place for that. Maybe wait until the little one is old enough to actually assist safely and professionally. Overall, the job was completed quickly, but the value just wasn't there. Between the inflated pricing, I can't recommend this company. There are plenty of other garage door repair services out there that will give you a fair rate and professional experience without surprise costs. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Long story short: call Third Gen Garage Doors NOW if you want an amazing garage door. Just see for…read moreyourself between the before and after photos of mine. I initially found Third Gen Garage Doors on Instagram and I was impressed by garage door installs that I saw. I reached out once I was ready to move forward with ordering a door. Sean (the owner) supplied me with all the brochures for a more modern door since that was what I was shopping for. (They can also do a more classic or carriage look, but I only saw pic from other installs and they did look good too.) Depending on what you're looking for, they might have something in stock to where you can get a quicker installation turn around. My order took around 3 week from ordering to final install. The products that I looked at were from C.H.I. I ended up picking out the "plank" style, which had texture that mimics wooden planks, and I also added long horizontal tinted windows that went down the right side of the door. I did ask Sean to come out and ensure that I got the right measurements. At that time, I met Grant and Paul, who were the ones that came out for the installation. On the day of installation, we were home all day so I was very flexible, the team did call me to state they were running slightly behind which was cool with me! Once they were here, it took about 2-3 hrs to remove the old door and track. Then install the new door, new tracks and ensure that everything was leveled, sealed, and running properly. Once Grant and Paul were done, they ensured I was happy with the installation and look of everything. They went over maintanence of the door and any joints I'll need lubricate yearly to ensure they're running smoothly. Even after the door was installed, I got a text from Sean checking in to ensure that I was happy with the door and installation. Overall, it was such an easy process working with Third Gen Garage Doors and I'm extremely pleased with the look of the door. I have the best looking garage door on the block!!!!! Shout out to Grant and Paul for working extremely hard on the installation, just shows how much they care about doing it right the first time!

After a ridiculous experience with another garage door installation and service company (feel free…read moreto read my review), Modern Overhead Door was recommended to me by a friend who had new doors and openers installed at his house. I called them on a Friday afternoon and John was out here the following Tuesday. John came out at 4:30pm and had the door repaired and operational in under an hour and was more reasonably priced than the jokers that came out originally. He pointed out that I definitely DO need a new door, (which I knew to be the case) but he didn't try to convince me that it couldn't be fixed without replacing the door. That said, I got a quote from John on a new door and jack shaft opener since my kids' rooms are above the garage and will UNDOUBTEDLY buy the new door and opener from him. John's communication was great, his demeanor was professional and the guy shows up with tools and materials ready to work. I HIGHLY recommend Modern Overhead Door to ANYONE that needs their garage door repaired, or need to replace a garage door or garage door opener. My buddy raved about John coming out to his place to install a couple doors in -8° weather. He was so impressed with his professionalism and work ethic that he purchased a couple jack shaft openers from him and had him out shortly after doing the doors and now I'm in the same boat. In no uncertain terms, if you need a new garage door, garage door opener or need your garage door repaired, don't think twice about calling Modern Overhead Door.
