While on a business trip to Elizabeth City, my wife and I were looking for a comfortable place to…read morehave dinner after discovering that many of the local restaurants were closed on Sunday evening. We almost always prefer to support local restaurants when we travel, but with our options limited, we decided to give this place a try. I'll admit our expectations weren't especially high, but the food pleasantly surprised us. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly and were flavorful, and everything we ordered was enjoyable with the exception of the sweet tea, which missed the mark. Unfortunately, the service was a completely different story. Our server, Kierstin, seemed either to be having an exceptionally bad night or simply wasn't suited for a customer-facing role. She was inattentive, unfriendly, and provided one of the poorest dining experiences we've had in quite some time. At one point, I ordered an amaretto sour and was told they were unable to make it, which was surprising given that they appeared to have a fully stocked bar. It left me wondering whether she had even checked with the bartenders. If I were rating the food alone, it would easily earn a 4 out of 5. The service, however, was a 1 out of 5, which brings my overall rating down to a 3. I don't usually mention employees by name in reviews, but in this case I hope management takes it as constructive feedback. With a little coaching--or by reevaluating whether she's in the right position--future guests could have a much better experience because the kitchen is clearly doing its part. To those about to nosh, we salute you! If you end up with a better server than we did, you'll likely enjoy a very solid meal.

All 50 wings fit in one to go box and there is hardly anything more than bones. I get $25 is cheap for 50 wings, but not for bones. It makes you wonder what they charge for their bones when it's not on special. The ambiance was okay. Completely empty dining area and a few people at the bar. The guy helping me was friendly. The sanitation score is 86 so that tells me I won't be going back to eat anything, and especially not their "wings"

I ordered the Surf and turf burger which was described as a burger with lump crab on it and an old bay aioli. The burger was two much for the amount of lump crab on it. Two patties with a smear of lump crab. I was informed that was a new item on the menu and the server asked about what would have made it better and I said the same thing I'm telling you ( just one burger Pattie would have been plenty). As an appetizer we ordered buffalo wings which weren't bad but they are breaded and sauced which I prefer naked and sauced. Overall not the worst meal I have had but also not the best.

We drove past twice before parking at the Hardware store next door and walking over. The exterior is...weathered to be sure. But that's not gonna stop us! The order window opened quickly and a gentleman efficiently took our order. Cash only. We got two hot dogs, an order of onion rings, a cheeseburger and a tea (that was the only drink available on the day I visited). We hung out until our order was ready then took it and sat on the tailgate of my vehicle to eat. The grease from the chili had soaked through multiple layers of the wrapping. Always a good sign! I had to look at the hot dog for a couple seconds because the chili looked unusual. It was mostly (very) saucy with some bits of ground beef. I was skeptical but on first bite...it was delicious! Certainly not what I'd call chili if I'm being honest. It was like BBQ sauce and ketchup mixed together, heated up, with ground beef conservatively tossed in. But again, it was great. The onion rings were good. Hot when we got them with good crispy outside. The burger was really good too. Lived up to the hype. I'd definitely recommend folks make a stop at Spencer's if you're in the area. Ambiance isn't overly impressive but focus on the food and you'll have a great time.

The food was very good, staff was great and the prices were very reasonable. I don't necessarily blame the restaurant for that since people are constantly coming and going through both the front door and patio, but it did affect the experience. We didn't try the beer wall this time. We came primarily for the food, and I'm glad we did. We both ordered the Angry Chicken sandwich, and it was fantastic. It had great flavor, a good level of spice, and was absolutely massive. For $19, though, it better be big! Honestly, I almost wish they offered a smaller version with just one chicken patty at a lower price. The sandwich has so many great elements, but it's almost too much food. I'd happily order a smaller version. Our server was friendly, but he was clearly spread pretty thin. It took a while to get drink refills and our check. Overall, there were a few things that could have been better, but I'd definitely come back for that chicken sandwich.
