I went in Friday to get a pedicure. My friend's 7 yr old granddaughter was with me & I told her she could get her toenails painted. So she chose a color & they painted her nails. When checking out, I asked how much & was told $73! i expected the little one to be $5 or $10. They said she was $25 "because she chose gel colors". Come in ladies! She chose a polish off the wall display! I feel like this was a scandalous move. I should have been told or asked if she could have gel colors & I believe they knew exactly what they were doing. Got a basic pedicure which they had listed as $35 and I got gel polish which was an additional $10, so my total should've been $45 right? At the counter the young lady proceeded to tell me it was $58 + $2 for using a card to pay, which left me paying $60. When was asked to go to my the chair for my pedicure, I barely got any time for a foot soak. I literally was asked to put my foot up to get the gel polish off within a couple of minutes. I was disappointed because the soaking is my favorite part of a pedicure. The technician that did my pedicure used their fingernail to wipe excess polish from around my toenails which I found unhygienic and I got stabbed a couple of times by the fingernail. Other places I've been to for pedicures either used an orange stick or another device to wipe excess polish off of skin. Yes, I could have asked for this technician to use something else but I did not know how to politely do that without seeming offensive. This is just my experience. I see that this place receives good reviews and I'm just sorry that my experience was not what I hoped it would be. read more

Okay, so this was my first manicure in a long time so it was a treat for myself! Initially I did end up waiting a bit longer than expected but I wasn't in a hurry. I was first off impressed by how clean the salon was, how nice everyone was and also the great selection of nail colors! The experience overall was FANTASTIC and I'm so glad I went with this place which came recommended from someone whom I complemented on their nails. David did my nails and did a wonderful job - they ended up exactly how I wanted them which rarely happens. But here's an extra THANK YOU to all the folks that work in the beauty industry - especially those who have come from other countries - and for how you keep kicking booty every day even when things are challenging. The one aspect of my experience which was not positive was another customer who was not wearing a mask and coughing during her entire appt. While I was annoyed for me, I felt extra annoyed that somebody would be so inconsiderate as to ignore the business's mask requirement AND be coughing the whole time as somebody is literally sitting below her. At one point she said very loudly 'I love this place because they are so clean; you know a lot of Oriental-run places like this get shut down all the time because they don't follow the rules'. You could hear a pin drop. I'm going to go ahead and assume she didn't know any better, but combined with assuming that she somehow has special privileges to not comply with business requirements - or common courtesy - is not excusable. In case anyone needs to hear this, please don't confuse politeness and great customer service with people being totally fine with you being a jerk. So props to Alba Nails folks and anyone who has had to tolerate this type of behavior and risk for their livelihoods, and props to them for their professionalism. Thank you all! This place has been my go-to for several months. I started getting my nails professionally done about a year ago. I live Lebanon and have tried many nail places places from Sweet Home to Albany and hands down love this place. Reasonably priced, quick, and good service. They do an amazing job and are very friendly as well. They do accept walk-ins but I'd recommend booking an appointment so you don't have to wait. :) I'd also recommend bringing cash!! read more

Dirty! I got nail fungus! It's a shame too, because the ladies are nice, the chairs are comfortable, but now I get to spend 8-or so months trying to clear up this fungus, if you look around it's dirty and there is only 1 sterilizing Machine and there's no time for them to run a proper cycle before getting more tools. Went here to get my nails done, and I specifically asked for dip nails which were $45+$5 extra for the tips. They handed me the colors for dip, and the guy did a great job. When I went to pay it was $68! I said I got the dip for $50, and they said no it must've been a miscommunication. They said they did "solar nails" which is $68. I never asked for them to do this but they went ahead anyways. Turned out nice but not cool to intentionally overcharge someone by almost $20. read more

Just moved from cali and i only tried two places here in Albany. The mall in albany which i will never go back btw. And alba nails which i have found my go to nail place. First off they are super friendly! Good customer service. The place is small but the ladies are good at doing what theyre doing. Most customers where greeted by their name. I can tell they are regulars. Anyways i gave them 4 stars because the only thing is that i called to schedule an appointment at 12:15pm for a pedi and mani. They didnt sit me on the chair for the pedi until 12:35pm. Didnt start my pedi until 12:43pm almost 30 minutes after my scheduled time! I was disappointed on that. The good thing after that was my nail technician her name was sally! Shes great! If i go back im requesting her . Dont know if i will call to make an appointment tho might just walk in. I just moved to town and get my nails done religiously. My second time at this salon and it was the worst nail set i've ever had. Immediately after my appointment the dip power shattered on almost all the nails. A day later the nail is breaking of in pieces like glass, after a week three out of 5 of the clear on top of the dip we're tore up. I called and explained what happened and I was told I need to pay for a completely new set and they will put gel on top for free. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I am not paying 40 on top of the 40 I already paid. That is not good customer service especially for a set that looks a month and a half old when its really been a week. Disappointed in the quality. read more

My daughter and I got our nails done with the dip polish. After 1 week nails started chipping and gel top coat started peeling off. I went back in to see if they would fix mine and they did but CHARGED me $52 AGAIN!! I have had my nails done for a year with the dip polish and NEVER had these problems! I have been here few times. Recently i was in and asked to not have short stubby nails. That's what I got............... and they were not even or shaped correctly. Each nail had a different shape. I have acrylic on my finger a half inch above my nail and I was cut on my cuticle...sloppy job. When I asked if they could make a nail longer because it had been cut too short they were very discomforting and seemed upset that I had mentioned it. Then as I was finishing up, another client there was unhappy and she was crying because her nail was so short and not the same shape. I had over heard her speaking to her nail tech asking them to make it the same shape in the beginning. The management didn't handle the situation well and were talking about it to other customers(me) saying it was the lady's fault. I will not return to this nail salon!!
