I wouldn't go as far as calling the salon the most relaxing place, but they get the job done and produce quality work. All of the customers seemed to be regulars that are satisfied by their work. The service was great, my tech was very nice and we had the funniest chat. Although my nails were not what I was expecting at all. I had to go in last minute to get my nails done for my wedding and explained that I wanted stiletto nails with a sharp point and wanted them slightly shorter than what she did. These are maybe like an almond or something kind of shape. I showed her exactly what I wanted and she even asked me if k wanted them more pointed and I told her yes but this is still what I got in the end. In my opinion not worth the $80 I paid. read more

Total scam and terrible gel mani-pedi. They upsold me hard on the gel although I asked for regular. 2 more dollars for this, 5 more for that... But the worst of all, it's one of the more awful nail jobs I've ever had (and I've had bad!). The technician who worked on me didn't even touch my cuticles or do any moisturizing or any of those things that are fundamental to every manicure (regular, gel, acrylic, I've done them all). Apparently I said no to that upsell. I had one particularly bad cuticle that she finally tried to trim before I left. The (gel) polish on that finger chipped before I even got home. On day two, one gel peeled completely off and there was a chip on my big toe. Day 3, another gel peeled off. Bad experience on all counts. Zero stars. read more

Came in with my mom and sister and asked to look at colors before being seated and was told we would be given a book to look at- grabbed a couple of said books before sitting down for a pedicure, was told to put my feet in the water and then got attitude for not having picked out a color (the book was only for gel nail) I walk over to the wall of polish with wet feet and then get more attitude for taking too long to decide. They are cash and check only. They don't have any way of drying the polish so you're stuck sitting for ages, especially since they layer onto wet polish. I think they charge you for everything they can think of I was charged 10$ extra just to take off my dip (which is same process as taking gel off) I've never been charged to take gel off. He didn't tell me till I was done they only accept cash, so then I have to go to the atm and pay that fee. First time at this salon. Probably last time. Called for an appointment,got there early,finally got in 30 mins past scheduled appointment. Ask price when appt was made. Was told it was $40.00. Sign at salon says price is $37.00, half way thru getting nails done, nail person said my cost would be $45.00!! Went in for manicure-nothing fancy, just needed quick file, trim cuticles, and polish. Service terrible-as I sat waiting for my appt., they were doing personal business regarding car repair. Waited at least 30 min., and then was left to do their business multiple times. Polish did not last 2 days ( 2nd day I was on an airplane all day!) They did not wait between coats, and only provided dryer when I asked! When I went back ( I had pics of 2nd day with nails chipped halfway down), they didn't even want to look-said I didn't pay for shellac! This is worse customer relations I have ever had...other customers, and myself even tried to help him on the phone with car repair, to get service!!! I love going there however I notice if you are a frequent customer the more effort and attention they put into you and your service, I honestly love it there. I have only had a few nail techs there so my nails and I have just narrowed it down to Tony specifically, he pays great attention to detail and doesn't leave clumps of Acrylic under my nail and makes sure the sides and tip are cleanly filed. There really is a nail tech for everyone there you just have to find who's best at what you like. I would highly highly recommend Tony! I've had acrylics before but some my nails were in a bit of pain after they did mine. A friend of mine made an appointment for the two of us to get pedicures this afternoon in preparation for a big night out next Saturday (OMG can't wait to review Morton's the Steakhouse, Ground Kontrol, Portland City Grill, and the Portland Opera!). We showed up right on time for the appointments, but wound up having to wait just a couple minutes for seats next to each other to become available. I am not a big "girly girl" and my feet stay firmly planted in combat boots or Birkenstocks the majority of my waking hours, so this was a little out of my comfort zone. It was nice to have a warm soak and salt scrub massage though. My nails were trimmed, buffed, and oiled before they started in on the French design with a couple small snowflake like white flowers hand painted on the big toe. They put a nice silver sparkle in the center of the flower that I liked. We spent a total of about 45 minutes with the entire process. Mostly gossiping back and forth between ourselves, as were the girls doing the pedicures. There was not a lot of communication between us and our pedicurists however, and my friend wound up with pink flowers instead of the red she had wanted. After a failed attempt to correct this, we just decided to go with it. The cost was $30 and I left a $5 tip, I suppose this is about average and I felt it was worth the money. She and I decided to come back next month for another joined appointment, so that should tell ya something. read more

Went in today for a shellac mani. I usually go someplace else in town but I had been sick and had to cancel my appointment so I was a last minute walk in to Excellent nails. Was told I'd had to wait an hour but only waited minutes. First off the place is total chaos. Employees are chatting in their native language very loudly. The number of people in the salon HAS to be against code. I was asked to sit and an older woman employee was across from me. She said nothing to me and acted like I wasn't there. I finally said hello to her and she looked at me and asked if I wanted a brow wax. I told her no thank you and she rolled her eyes at me! Then I was moved over to another seat to get the manicure. Mine was about the easiest job he could have since my nails are well maintained. I'd say he did an ok job, but I was not impressed with the lack of cleanliness. There was nail dust everywhere! When finished he said $28, but the sign says $25 for a shellac manicure. I paid and left and won't go there again. They only take cash or check so be aware of that. read more

Poor customer service & they charge a ridiculous amount for basic acrylics. I came in to get a full set. I brought a picture for reference. The picture showed three nails with white acrylic and two nails with a V French tip design. Super basic!! didn't think it would be difficult to complete but I assumed wrong. When approaching the French tip design I assume she would use white acrylic powder but again I assumed wrong and she was lazy and used white gel paint. This became a problem because the white gel paint was yellow compared to the acrylic white powder. Which she knew and she shouldn't have use the white acrylic powder if she couldn't execute the white French tip properly. I didn't notice this until I had walked out of the salon and was in my car. At this point I had errands to run and wasn't going to turn back around and wait another two hours to get my nails done. long story short I came back the following day to have the white gel paint changed to another color. She called me picky and was hard to work with. I basically settled and asked if she would just do pink and white squiggly lines. I paid $70 for my nails the previous day and she had the audacity to ask for $10 more because the lines that she squiggle were "hard work." She's very sassy and did not execute customer service. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this establishment. The woman that serviced me said it herself "she doesn't do expensive work, our salon is cheep." Plus I had to ask for some polish remover because I had quite a bit of polish on my fingers she didn't clean up. I know it's the cheapest place in town, so you get very cheap work. PLEASE STOP GOING HERE! As you can see a review from 2 years go, they excessively cut your cuticles and leave painful openings, file your nail bed too much, horribly misplace the acrylic making it look too wide for your nail bed (if you've gotten long tips, you already know.) And in the most infuriating cases, cause infections. If they've been doing this for 2 years without improving, why bother torturing your cuticles? i recommend Alba Nails! read more

I went in with an open mind despite some of the negative reviews. I sat down the water was cold and the woman who started to do my nails asked really inappropriate questions for somebody that I had just met. I tried to laugh it off and then continued talking to my friend. In result she huffed and started grabbing my feet so hard that it made me jump. For the rest of the time she didn't look at me nor did she say anything. In addition taking a closer look at my nails I see nail polish on my skin that she didn't take off, there are visible parts of my nail that she completely forgot to paint, and when I was getting my cash out to pay her she stood there looking right at my money as I counted it. I hate to say this but I don't think I will ever go back. Also every pedicure I've gotten includes a callus removal service included unlike this place. If I could give no stars I would. First and foremost I spent $50 yes 50 on a fill for my acrylic nails they said that they weren't good enough to get filled when I had just gotten done last week by the same person doing my nails they continue to charge me more. When he was taking my previous color off he cut into my skin and proceeded to do the same thing over and over. He filed them crooked and VERY uneven. Then they gave me a different shade of the yellow color I wanted which was actually a pretty color I picked out but then they gave me a neon yellow and told me that was the color I picked out and that I would have to pay $15 if i wanted to change it. What's even worse is he paints 8 coats on my nails. Yes 8 to make them look thick exactly how i told him not to. I am furious and now feel ugly. Fix your service before it goes out of service. Second time I've scheduled an appointment and had to wait. Normally the 10-15 min wait is whatever but, this time my 6:00 appointment wasn't even a thing - by 6:40 I decided it wasn't worth my time any longer. My mom's nail tech asked if there was anything he could do so, I asked if it was possible to not be charged for repairing the two nails that are about to pop off.. he said nothing. He offered to do my nails but I had requested a specific person and after waiting 40 minutes (we had plans at 7) I wasn't interested. They apparently had an employee meeting... ok.. my question is why schedule appointments during a meeting time? And if it was more of a last minute thing, you have my phone number, why not call me to reschedule? My mom and I would've liked to get our nails done together, not 40 minutes apart. Tony and Christina are the only 2 I like in there, good conversations, don't hurt me, no cuts, sometimes the shape can be off a little, but nothing too bad. You have to speak up though. Also, have noticed quite a difference in price per different people, for example Tony will charge me upwards of $45 for a fill, and Christina charges me $30. Will still keep going here. read more
