Food was okay. Put zero as tip and they converted it themselves to $10.00. Gave themselves a tip off of my card.

We were recommended to this food truck by a good friend of ours, and honestly, even from the…read morepictures alone you could tell the food was made with love. Fresh, real ingredients -- you can just see it. Sometimes looks can be deceiving, but tonight the food tasted exactly as good as it looked. My spouse had been craving a breakfast burrito since the day before, and that's exactly what she ordered. I was actually surprised they were able to make breakfast this late, but it's on their menu and they came through. You never know when that breakfast craving is gonna hit lol. For me, I got the Mini Tacos (Bistec/Asada -- 5 per order) and the Campenchano burrito. Not sure if there's a difference between Campenchana and Campenchano, but whatever version they're making is fire. The owner was super nice and welcoming, and everything was cooked to order -- literally fresh on the grill. I watched him lay down fresh bistec, bacon, eggs... everything for our order. And on top of that, it only took like 10 minutes. We've driven by plenty of times and usually see cars lined up, but today there wasn't anyone when we pulled up -- perfect timing for us lol. We live 20-30 minutes away and the food was still hot when we got home, and you could taste the freshness. Salsas were homemade: * Red - Medium/Hot * Avocado - Medium/Hot * Green (Verde) - Mild All three were legit and paired well with everything. My spouse didn't share her burrito (lol) but she demolished it, so I'm sure it was amazing. My Campenchano burrito was half bistec / half al pastor with pineapple. I'm not usually big on pineapple in burritos, but they only use small pieces so it didn't overpower anything. The bistec was crazy soft -- not chewy at all -- which says a lot because that really depends on how it's cooked and marinated. The Mini Tacos though... 10/10. Fresh tortillas, soft, con todo (onions, grilled onions, cilantro). Perfect. I was hoping for Tripas, but they were sold out -- weekends only -- so next time I'll just show up earlier. Their menu isn't huge, but it's got all the heavy hitters. Next time I'm definitely trying the sopes, gorditas, and tacos dorados. Overall, a great experience for both of us -- and my spouse is a picky eater. Compliments to the owners. Hats off to y'all for putting together something this good. We'll definitely be back. Keep up the great food and the great work!

My favorite is the "Carne Asada ala Mexicana" it is sooooo good. Love to cover it with the Quemada salsa they make in house. That stuff is drinkable!!!!!! Service is spot on. It's a small and clean, but strange, dining room. The left side is a big glass-enclosed space with a few video games and supply storage. If you go beyond that, there's the counter and a view into the kitchen. The right side is the dining room, complete with nice wooden lacquered tables with Chinese symbols and writing on them. (I suspect these came from Li's - the space they acquired on Stone Oak) After getting through a language barrier with the help of a different server, I opted for the Burrito Estilo Jalisco with Asada. Really good! DH went with the Carne Guisada, which was also good. Free chips and salsa were included, and the salsa is served warm. Yum! We would definitely return but probably just for takeout since we didn't care for the feeling of sitting in someone's storage space. For dining in, we'll go back to Stone Oak. Hopefully they'll do something to make this a more inviting atmosphere.

I think the name is hilarious because whenever you mention it to people, they ask "what place?" or ask for you to drop a pin for location since you can't figure out the name. First thing you notice when walking in is the eclectic atmosphere and funky furniture. The outdoor area is decorated with miscellaneous outdoor furniture pieces and the indoor decor is no different. Everyone at the bar (patrons and staff) are very friendly and happy to chat. Additionally, there were quite a few loose dogs which made it even more fun... I love the pups! We went inside to place our drink orders. My friend ordered a bud light (bottled as they have a limited draft menu) and I ordered a Dulce Vida Lime Tequila w/ Topo Chico & Lime. I had tried to order a few other items (like a Deep Eddy Lime Vodka w/ Diet Tonic but they were out of that liquor... and a bunch of other liquors). For the second round, I ended up ordering a Deep Eddy Cranberry Vodka w/ Topo Chico. The drinks I ordered are ones I have had before and somehow they didn't taste as good here, but they definitely weren't bad my any means. Plus, the bartenders were so nice that I wouldn't have complained. I loved that they had a popcorn machine, offered complimentary popcorn & peanuts, and had fun live music. This place was fun all around and would be great to bring a large group to! I would definitely go back with a group of friends - the whole ambiance is too fun not to.

So of course, I order the Paster Verde and add shrimp. While waiting for my dish I decide to order a Chispa on the rocks (think of a skinny margarita) since I didn't have to go back to work. The drink is well made and strong. When my pasta comes out it is plated well and garnished with half cut cherry tomatoes. The green sauce is a creamy poblano sauce that definitely provides a different flavor profile than traditional tomato-based sauces but it's a nice change and it pairs really well with the grilled shrimp. The cherry tomatoes are a nice touch. Overall, I really enjoyed the staff, food and drinks at El Catrin and I look forward to coming back and trying their breakfast menu.

My husband enjoyed the enchilada trio but said the mole was the best part. My sons enjoyed the Al pastor tacos. Food was good, service okay. The one thing is- they charge $4.50 for a CAN of coke. For reference, you can get a 12-pack at HEB for less than $9.
