Bucky and I made the drive to the HEB Plus and found the truck. Interestingly enough, they operate kinda like a drive-thru, but they accept walk-ups, too. Immediately after I pulled up, they saw Bucky and offered him a pup cup. I didn't even have to ask! The cooed and fawned over him as they saw him enjoy it in my back seat. For myself, I got the cortado and I asked for a recommendation. She suggested a Tres Leches cold brew with cinnamon. Right on - I went ahead and ordered it. The cortado was ver nice, with minimal paper cup flavor. It was smooth with a roasted flavor, and a nice, creamy viscosity. A pretty good, respectable cortado. The Tres Leches cold brew reminds me of merienda with my family in Brownsville, despite us usually not having cold coffee - haha. But the flavors were delicious. The coffee was strong, but still had that "flavored latte" taste I tend to enjoy on a hot day. That tres leches foam is truly a delight. If I lived closer, I'd probably be here every day they're open. However, now that I know that they're really good, I may have to make some frequent stops.

Coffee Near Me is conveniently parked by McAlister Park, so folks biking, walking, etc can easily swing by to quench their thirst. I ordered a jalapeño kolache (the bread was incredibly soft and pillowy) and a hot German Chocolate Cake latte. The latte was scalding hot but once it was at drinking temperature - the flavor was 100% spot on. It felt like I was drinking an actual German Chocolate Cake. He also made a pup cup for Bucky, and also pointed out the free dog treats! So I garnished Bucky's pup cup with a treat and he was absolutely delighted. We parked ourselves at one of the picnic tables and people watched for a little bit. Bucky also found a dog dish, so even though I brought my own water for him, he was never without any. Super convenient. Before we headed out I ordered an iced Mayan Mocha Latte and it was delicious. The name of the truck, while creative, makes googling it a little frustrating. I had arrived a little after they opened, and right away there was already a respectable line. Right Hand Coffee appears to be a favorite among the college crowd. I think I was the oldest person there, including the folks running the truck. Due to the line there was a bit of a wait but it wasn't terrible. They have two tent-like covers and two sets of tables and chairs, and even though the tents didn't provide shade, the shadows they cast did, keeping my pup and I cool. I ordered the cortado, a PBJ Latte (an August special), and a pup cup. The cortado was very good. It didn't have that paper cup flavor, By the time I brought it home, it had fully combined, so there was no foam to sip through, which made me happy. It was a very smooth, mild cortado. The PBJ latte was very good, and I hope that ends up a permanent menu item because I would absolutely make the trip back just for it. The coffee itself had peanut butter flavor, and the cold foam had a raspberry jam flavor. Mix them together and it reminds me of my favorite after school snack with a glass of milk. The logo is also cute - a greyhound is a nice mascot (though perhaps not quite as indicative as to how fast they get drinks out... but again, the lines are a testament to how good their drinks are). I hope I can make the time to swing by again during August. I'll be dreaming of that PBJ latte.

This time, our morning led us to Pan & Coffee, a bakery and café I picked after spotting its impressive 4.7-star Yelp rating. Pan & Coffee is located on Stone Oak Parkway in San Antonio and proved to be every bit as charming as we expected. From the moment we walked in, the café felt warm, inviting, and bright. The open, airy layout, high ceilings, and oversized windows bathed the space in natural light. First, the bakery case immediately steals your attention. Rows of beautifully crafted pastries behind perfectly constructed glass cases practically beg you to take one or three home. Smile. Their selection includes flaky croissants, colorful conchas, sticky monkey bread, cinnamon rolls, fruit-filled pastries, and other freshly baked treats. My brother and I couldn't resist ordering a cinnamon roll and a lemon pastry, and both were absolutely delicious. The pastries were generously sized, making them perfect for sharing or keeping all to yourself. For breakfast, I ordered the avocado toast while my brother chose one of their breakfast sandwiches. Both dishes arrived with generous portions and were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Pan & Coffee also shines when it comes to its beverage menu. In addition to traditional espresso drinks, they offer creative specialty lattes infused with Mexican-inspired flavors, including the Dulce de Leche Latte, Brown Sugar Latte, Café de Olla, and the unique Concha Latte. I got the Brown Sugar Latte, which was warm and super flavorful. Great bonding with my big brother and first time experience at Pan & Coffee.

The latter I waited I would say at least 25 minutes for. No, that's not a typo. You could argue I should have asked for a refund or just left, but I already felt committed at this point. I watched them batch up 10 drinks at a time, work on them a bit, walk away, come back and do the next step, then walk away again. Batching drinks makes sense for an order. It doesn't make sense for the whole restaurant. People who ordered 15 minutes after me were getting their stuff at the same time. Drinks at the end of batch were fresh and hot, drinks at the front were of course sitting for that entire time. I could see they were busy, and I prefer to not give people a hard time, but at minute 20 I finally asked if my drink was still being made. I got a shoulder shrug, then she checked and then it was finished and handed to me. No apology for the wait. Apparently I should have asked 15 minutes prior Again, the pastries and coffees are fine. None of them are worth the time spent waiting for them.
