This is a review for the DMV location at University Center on Ingra Street…read more I had to renew my Driver's License, and decided I'd go all fancy and get a Real ID, so I checked their website to see what documents I'd need, and that's where I discovered you could make an appointment. I didn't know if having an appointment would get me seen any faster, and the next available appointment was 3 days from when I booked, but that's ok, as my license doesn't expire until end of March. The emailed instructions said to check in at the information desk, or one of the kiosks. I put in my phone number as instructed in the email, and it printed out a ticket number. I rolled my eyes aggressively at it, thinking "I could have just gotten a ticket number from the regular machine" HOWEVER, the actual second the ticket was printing out, my number was actually being called at the booth. And I also got a text message too. I go to the desk, and Shiela/Sheila was super helpful. I had an eye test, I had to answer a couple of questions, provide some documents as proof of where I live, and my Legal Permanent Resident card, and that's about all she needed, despite the fact that their website told me I'd need to bring Birth Certificate, proof of name changes etc. I in fact had a big fat envelope full of stuff, "just in case" I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. I paid my $40 and got a receipt, I think that's pretty good for Real ID. I was then directed to desk number 1 for a picture. The lady at desk number 1 was also very helpful and sweet, and she had an awesome sleeve. She checked my receipt, took my picture, even told me it was an awesome picture (I appreciate the kindness) and printed my temporary license telling me my full license card would be mailed and I'd have it in 2-3 weeks. All in all a painless experience, compared to previous visits where I've waited a very long time. Even this office seems a lot cleaner, airier, just more pleasant all round. I think back when I passed my drivers test, I took it over at the old location by Spenard. Anyway, so yeah, in and out in 15 minutes, I don't think you could beat that, so I recommend making an appointment for sure.

I sat here for 2 hours 2 hours until my number got called and after 2 hours they asked me to come…read moreback for a later day the state of Alaska has the worst DMV of all 50 states.

What is a mini truck?…read more In Japan, if you want to buy a car you have to prove to the dmv that you have your own parking space before they'll give you a license plate. If the vehicle is small, Then you don't need to . These trucks are tiny. Most are manual. Most are 4x4 The owner of this business, Unlike most in the Lower 48, has a Japanese counterpart . That counterpart goes to the secondhand used car market in Japan and inspects cars for cook inlet. Cook inlet mini trucks has a dozen or so shipped over at a time where they are lifted a few inches. They are put on atv tires and the fluids are flushed and changed to American brands to simplify your life later. They are becoming popular in the villages where they are 1/2 the price of a Polaris ranger, or the same as a new 4x4 Drive to the village airport in your t-shirt in January. They are REAL cars Mine came with 4000 miles. Still smells new. Windshield wipers Heater Air conditioning 4x4 high 4x4 low 2x4 high These cars show up in this country speed restricted ( I took mine off) as per import rules. They do not meet d.o.t. Safety standards. Airbags NOT Good bumpers NOT. Etc. They need an atv sticker to be registered and can not be driven on federal or state maintained roads ..... Technically. I am using my new one in seldovia. It turns on a dime. Is easy on the gas. Cab warms up fast. Fits in the fishing village ambiance. 3 stars due to ...... It's too early to tell about the service from cook inlet. The truck in itself is 5 stars. I'll need some follow up maintenance I'm sure. Phone calls take a while to be answered , but they are answered. I do believe that the owner is involved with several home based businesses and has many calls to field. Love the truck. I
