I have been coming here because it's close to home and convenient. My daughter has never been happy with their service, but we decided to give them one more try when we had guests visiting. We got four pedicures and two manicures. Unfortunately, two of the pedicures were not done correctly, so I came back just to have the polish fixed on two nails. I was ignored for over 30 minutes, and the staff was rude when I tried to get help. After waiting that long, I gave up and left. This was especially disappointing after spending almost $400. I expected much better customer service and a simple fix to be handled professionally. read more

Nothing fancy -- just your standard pedi, wax, and mani salon. The service overall was fine, but the flow felt a little off. They gave the massage after painting my toes, which I'm not used to and it felt backwards. The foot soak was very short (maybe two minutes), so my feet were exposed and cold most of the time. Also, when the tech used the chunky salt scrub, she scrubbed the tops and sides of my feet, which was uncomfortable. Staff was nice. read more

I go to Lyn and she's honestly wonderful and has worked with me to figure out the best solution for my nails and concerns about gel vs dip vs all the other options out there! I've been coming here for years and over the past year, their service has been consistently lacking. They are often rushing through the service and not really working to fix things that are not just right. Just this past Friday, I took a friend there to get mani/pedi. We were both not impressed. My mani was bad. The polish was not close to the nail bed so I mentioned it to him and he didn't do anything to fix it. It has been like this the last few times I went and this time I decided to point it out because the mani wouldn't last long. It was like a week's grow out already so my gel mani lasted like 3 days. What a waste of money. The worst thing was that because I hadn't been for awhile, I called to ask about pricing. I had them on speaker phone and the lady quoted me a certain price and when I got there, they charged me a higher price. When I challenged them on it, they said no way they said that. We called this establishment to confirm the price of a basic pedicure and was told $31. When we arrived, they upped the rate to $35. We complained that we were told $31 on the phone and the lady insulted me telling me I heard wrong. Then she had the nerve to upsell for another $15 on something we didn't want., Regardless of the misunderstanding, they should've honoured the $31 but they didn't and after being insulted, we will never be back. This is not my normal nail salon but my boyfriend bought me a mani/pedi certificate as a gift so I decided to give them a try. I went on Yelp and read the reviews and saw one that review talked about how she had a certificate for mani/pedi but only did the pedi and they told her when she was done that her certificate only had $5 left although it stated a mani and pedi. After reading that, i asked my BF how much he paid for the cert before heading to redeem it to make sure it didn't happen to me. I got there and told them i had a mani/pedi cert to redeem but wanted to get upgrade the reg mani to dip nails and would pay the difference. To my surprise (or not) my dip was $46 and they said the certificate was only worth $42. Well, my BF said he paid $60 AND gave them a $10 tip as well. I told this to them and they still were combatting me saying it's only worth $42. BE CAREFUL BUYING CERTIFICATES HERE. If they want to put a value amount on the cert then they should state the dollar value and not just put "mani/pedi" read more

This was the first time I went home to re-file my nails after getting them done. I got an acrylic full set and specified two things: don't make my nails super thick and do a square coffin. My nails ended up still looking super wide and thick. Additionally, the person that was doing my nails was RUSHING to paint them since a customer came in as a walk in appointment? I had to ask him to stop before adding a THIRD layer without even letting the other two dry for longer than 5 seconds. Definitely won't be coming back. I also love getting dip powder manicure. Lina and Anthony are the best at dip powder. They are very meticulous, it's a long process but totally worth it. read more

I have gone here for 10+ years but the new owner has ruined everything ~ she is rude and has no concern for customer service. I made an appointment two days in advance for 4pm on a Thursday with my preferred manicurist. When I arrived, no one even acknowledged me. I waited for a pedicure with someone else and then at 4:45pm when my requested manicurist was finished, she went to another customer. I asked the owner what was going on and she said, "We busy." and literally ignored me. I walked out and will never go back again. The place is dirty, the jets in the pedicure bowls do not work, there is no TV and they are doing something with payments. If you write a check, they require you leave the name blank. They have brought in new manicurists who do a poor job. Do not go here. read more

I've been trying out different local nail salons in Alamo, and am so upset I wasted my time and money at this salon. I rarely write bad reviews, or any reviews for that matter, but I'd like to share my experience: I went in for a fill and a pedicure. For starters, in all of my time getting my nails done, I have never once winced in pain. I had to ask both women to please stop whatever they were doing on both my toes and my fingers due to both of them clipping my skin numerous times in the same area. Ok, fine, not a big deal. The woman doing my pedicure was nice; however, the woman doing my fill was in her own element, and made it almost seem like she was annoyed to be working. Only thing she said to me was when she asked if I have been to that salon before. Okay, fine, not a big deal. After moving from the pedicure station to the nail station (I've never been asked to move), she finished up and checked me out. She COVERED the price on the receipt with her thumb (LOL really?!) and tried to get me to sign without seeing the price. It turns out it was an $80 job. Okay, fine, not a big deal. The pain, discomfort and price was whatever, fine, not a big deal until 20 minutes ago. After just two days, my nails have begun to completely break off at the tip. I'm extremely bummed out because I'm currently in a foreign country for the next week and a half, and with how she treated the bill at the end of the transaction, I highly doubt I'll get any money back. There are plenty of great nail salons just seconds away from this place. Do yourself a favor and go to people that actually do nails and create decent a customer experience the proper way. read more

After going to another nail salon in the neighborhood for several years, I needed to find a new place that did DIPIT fill in because I became unhappy with my previous place. Tony does DIPIT, a better alternative than acrylic or gel for your nails if you want semi permanent nails. Tony is a friendly, courteous, professional who took very good care of my nails. I also had a pedicure which was very clean and relaxing. I am now a regular going every 4 weeks. They except credit cards, their prices are reasonable, and in this time of Covid, I feel very safe there. read more

Had an appointment and was sat within maybe 10 min of appointment time (not bad). Issues started after that. My friend's pedi was started right away. I ended up being worked on by the lady who was also answering the phone about maybe 15 min later - everything except the actual nail painting was done with my friend by the time someone came to work on me. Never said hello or even really looked at me ..just got started and just would tap my legs instead of talking to get me to move my feet. Just weird. She started to soak my feet/take off nail polish but then got a phone call and left. After the phone call she proceeded to "clean" the metal nail tools by scrubbing them with a nail brush in the sink. Aren't they supposed to then soak them in disinfectant???? When that was completed she came back over to work on me (about a 10 min gap). Callouses not scrubbed but she did do a nice leg massage. Nail polish turned out fine. I started going to a Alamo Nails in 2012 when I moved to Alamo. I live very close and sometimes when they were busy. I would just say look I can come back and they would tell me sometimes I would run errands or go home. Since the new owner came, I make an appointment I get there And she tells me to wait it'll be 10 minutes the first time I waited 45 minutes and then had poor service. I gave them another chance and after waiting 20 minutes past my appointment time when no one who could do my nails was anywhere near finished. I left and said I told you I could come back last time and this time and I was completely ignored. We all have a bad day so I booked pedicures for my husband and I same thing. I have come for a pedicure before and it has been great. But this last Friday Evening (5/3/19), I came in with my sister to get acrylics for my graduation and it was just not good. The nails were crooked and I had to ask to have them done again to correct them. I was told my fingers were crooked and was given some shade because I asked for them to be shaped right/done correct. Some has a square top and some almond shape, I wanted almond shaped and had shown a picture . In addition, some nails were noticeably longer than the others. I just let her do the best she could given she seemed rushed to leave. I went home and filed them down to the right shape as much as I could that night before my graduation. Well it's Wednesday 5/8/19 and was accepting that this huge waste of money (around $70 in total) and my nails have begun to lift and fall off. This place is great for pedicure and most of the staff is amazing! But with that said, I won't come back to get my actual nails done again. read more

I just moved to Alamo and wanted to try a new nail salon since my regular one back home is a 30 minute commute. I went in for a full set of acrylics. Tony did my nails. The only words he spoke to me were what shape I wanted and what color. I told him I wanted medium length square nails. He proceeded to pull out the Dremel bits in a container that was full of old nail file powder from past clients. Not only are the shape of my nails atrocious (and none of the nails are the same lebut when I went to pay he told me it was $45. I look back at their prices and it says $35. I asked him why it was $10 more, he told me it's because I got gel polish. I WAS NOT told that the gel polish was $10 extra at all during the service. I will not be coming back and I'm going to a different salon right now to get them fixed. read more

The location was ideal for me and they did a pretty good job with my nails but if you expect to be seen on time for an appointment, think again. First time I made an appointment for 3 PM and at 3:30 I had to ask what was going on. They told me 20 to 30 more minutes. Excuse me, an hour late for an appointment? I was hoping that was a fluke. Went back, my next appointment they were 20 minutes late for and my pedicure was cut 5 to 10 minutes short on the massage because they had overbooked themselves and didn't service the person next to me who started to complain. The straw that broke the camels back was when my out-of-town mother had a 4 PM appointment today and she waited for over 45 minutes and they told her repeatedly "just a few more minutes" she was never serviced but a woman who walked in after her was seated. That's just crazy to me! Very unprofessional that they don't keep their appointment times and take any walk ins over appointments. I picked a new mail salon today who helped us immediately and will not be back to Alamo nails. Bummer. I'm hoping this review helps them to start respecting people's time and when they make an appointment to keep it. read more

I like this place. The manicurists are really nice, and the salon and restroom are clean. I was really impressed when my daughter went in for a spa mani/pedi, and they had the attachments for the chair so that she could sit comfortably, and she had her own foot bath extension. We were really impressed with the spa massage and exfoliation she received. It was the little version of Mommy's pamper session. I know that I have really small nail beds, so it's not totally her fault. However, I bled after my nail was filed too short. But my nail beds are really short, and that's part of the reason why I can't do my nails myself. I love that they accept credit cards, since the one across the street only takes cash. My first time in I went for a shellac and pedicure. The woman that did my pedicure was so nice and sweet. I had a gentleman that did my shellac, scraped off my old shellac with HIS fingernail. Gross! After a quick topcoat he wiped my arms down and said I was done. I noticed one of my nails was wavy with too much paint on it. He try to paint over it and when I asked him if he could do it the right way he took off The nail polish and re-did it with a different color and told me it was fine. Absolutely horrible I will never be back and thank goodness the woman who I believe is the owner stepped in with the right color. My finger has been rubbed raw and I highly do not recommend going back. I love my local businesses but this was just a very bad experience I should've looked at the YELP rating before I went. read more

If you get the owner, you'll be fine. She's a pro. Unfortunately, the last 2 times I've been pawned off on this terrible woman named Van. She asked me intrusive, personal questions and made nasty comments about my appearance. They always ask you to pay before they apply the nail polish, which is normal. Last time I was there, I paid with exact change. Van looked at the money, picked up the nail polish bottle, pounded it on the work surface and said, "You forgot my tip!" When I said I didn't forget, she took an ink pen and wrote "TIP!" on a piece of paper and held it up for me to see. Not sure why the owner, who was within earshot, lets her employee act like that.
