This place is the worst! I call and ask for a gel fill and I get there and the guy doing my nails did not know what he was doing. And when I asked him why he was putting the polish on my nails without filling them with the gel. He informs me they don't do gel nails. It was a joke. So I told him he could do a dip. If you saw my nails, you would not believe it! I got them done on Sunday and Monday they were chipped!. They look terrible. When we walked in, it was really nice because there was a kind gentleman who gave us bottled waters for the super hot day. He even gave a bottle of water to my son who was just going to wait with us. The pedicure started first. I was not too happy with the lazy massage or the weird version of the French pedicure. Cindy was very nice but her white lines were both curved and crooked. As for our pedicures, you can't see on the photos but our nails have air bubbles in the polish. This means that the polish was too old, of poor quality or too thick. Either which way, the nail technician should have noticed and brushed the polish on until the bubbles went away. I'm still really sad for tipping so much because I'm just used to tipping big for services. I'm sad because I look at my nail polish and am stuck to look at it for a whole week before getting my nails done again. My daughter had a gel manicure and there are bubbles that are easy to see in her manicure which I'm not too happy with because we paid more for the gel manicure when we asked for the regular manicure but the nail technician recommended that she get a gel manicure instead. Also, when I was offered a gel manicure and declined because I only like to wear nail polish for one week and then I take it off for my nails to breathe because I'm old and I had to explain this to the nail technician she seemed irritated that I wasn't taking the gel manicure. We had a nail appointment and we're glad that we had an appointment but even though we had a nail appointment our session took over two hours to complete. At other nail salons, our nail appointments would last between 1 to 1 1/2 hours in total which included drying time. We wanted to try the nail salon because maybe it would be something that would work for both of us, unfortunately it didn't. We both felt like Jenny was really good with the clean up of your nail cuticles because she's very thorough at that. That being said, she's not very good at painting the nail even though she seems like she's taking her time. Because they were so busy today, the reason why we had to wait so long in between our nails being done was because our nail technicians cava leaving us to work on other girls nails, so like after my nails were filed my technician would just walk away and go to someone new who's waiting and start filing her nails without sanitizing in between. If we weren't in such a rush to go because the appointment took twice as long as we were accustomed to wait, then maybe it would have been OK for us to wait over two hours. We felt that this review needed two stars because Jenny and Cindy were very nice. Unfortunately, for the price and what you receive as a service, it doesn't match up. However, if you don't care about what your nails look like afterwards, then I recommend this place because it has ample free parking spaces and Jenny and Cindy are nice. read more

My experience the first 2 times here was good but the 3rd time is the reason why I'm give 3 stars. I was serviced by an older lady and while her work was okay her attitude is rude. When I asked to try on 2 nail colors to decide which one I wanted, first she just showed it to me and then when I asked again to try it on she stated something in her language rudely which was obviously aimed at me. She didn't apply the base coat properly which caused the nail paint to have ridges in it. The nail paint also got on my hands in multiple places which was not cleaned. Due to all this I did not think she deserved the best tip so I gave what was appropriate and immediately she said something rude again in her language. If you're going to curse the customer out at least do it in a language they understand. I still recommend the salon but just avoid this technician. read more

I requested almond, and the man helping me filed my nails so short they could only be round. They were rude and I spent 2 hours there only to be disappointed. She is very gentle where as Tran was rough & would cut my fingers a lot. Tran sold the nail salon to new owners, who seem to be very nice & friendly. I was 10 minutes early, and before they opened at 10, there were already 3 other women waiting with me. They are popular, so make an appointment if you can. The only reason whey I don't give them 5 stars is because they need to spruce up the place - and more importantly, clean it up a bit. I'm a germ-a-phobic. Today is my niece's ninth birthday and she, her mom, and I are celebrating with pedicures, the ultimate female bonding experience. Livery nails is located in Old Downtown Danville just off the I-680 and Sycamore Canyon. There are 8 massaging pedicure chairs and 4 manicure stations so it was fairly easy for us to get an appointment where we could all have adjacent chairs. The wait was short (we arrived 20 minutes early) but there were comfortable chairs to wait in so we didn't mind much. The manicurists were friendly and gentle, but mine still managed to do a good job getting rid of my massive heel callouses, one of the hazards of dancing. Livery Nails offers free wifi; you'll need a password, but it is posted on the wall in large letters so it is easy to find. The massage chairs were comfortable, the water pleasantly warm, and the pedicurist very good at the foot and leg massage, so I deem this experience a win. My niece wanted sparkles on her toes (no extra charge) and crackle polish on her nails (an extra $5 charge since they have to layer on two different colors to achieve the effect) We're all happy; great start to the birthday! read more

I just wanted to update, as I have been faithful to Livery Nails for over a year now. I really do love them. Great prices and great people. The pedicures are out of this world. Tran (the owner) now does my nails. Shellac chips on me so fast. It's not a fault of the technician, it's just me. Doesn't matter where I get it, I'm lucky if it lasts 7 days/ So I just recently started getting pink and white acrylics. I love my nails to look well polished and trimmed and nice but I hate when my nails look "fake". Now I get acrylics are fake and you can't make them look totally real, since they are not, but Tran gets pretty darn close. I don't have the prettiest hands and I have short, stumpy nail beds, so he's got to work with what he's got but he does such a great job. It really looks like I just have a french manicure shellac. The reason for my 2 star rating is purely based on the inability to manage appointments and respect customer's time. I was so frustrated after spending nearly an hour waiting to have my dip manicure done by the shop owner Jenny my last appointment, and this next time I made sure to have a scheduled appointment and arrive in the area early to avoid delays being seated and yet again they were unable to manage their time and appointments appropriately. After calling in advance to make sure the appointment time still worked and offering to even come early to avoid them squeezing someone in before me, they said no it's okay come at 5:30 we'll start you and you wait for Jenny until 6. While a bit annoyed, I agreed, but the shop then called me back a few minutes later and asked if I could move my appointment to the next day since they were again "running late". It's obvious your just squeezing in other non-appointments or overbooking and disregarding your clients time and availability. What is the point of even making an appointment?! While they do a good job on manicures (not so much on the pedicure side!), I was patient and gave them a chance but I will absolutely not be going back here. read more

They look good enough but not perfect Pros: -the price! -so many gel colors it's so hard to pick just one -no awkward forced small talk if you don't want it, but everyone's still friendly Cons: -Some of the paint by the cuticle is not perfectly straight -paint doesn't cover all the nail, the sides were a problem area for my nail tech -mostly just a nail job, barely any hand massage Also, they take credit card but prefer the tip in cash, so make sure you still have some! The women and the owner are all wonderful, so I don't really care who does my fills or pedicures. They give the longest massages and I can usually just drop in and never have to wait very long. They're prices are comparable with anywhere else, so armed with coffee in hand I'm off to go get my over abused feet massaged and pampered and get my acrylics filled. Love my new shop! read more

Honestly I don't think I'll be back, mainly because I just didn't feel like a special customer to them. Granted it was my first time there, but for a fairly new establishment they didn't go out of their way to impress me. Nevermind that it took them about 4 different explainations that I wanted a funky color french tip with a white line underneath. Nevermind that halfway thru my pedi process they decided to move me with no explanation nor did they just politely explain that a woman and her daughter wanted to sit next to each other. Or the fact that when I was getting moved they didn't even offer to grab my shoes or anything. Or the fact that I literally had to start to get up from my seat before anyone offered to help me with my flip flops. I just didn't feel like the really gave a crap whether I returned or not. Also they nail art and line is horrible on my toes, the line isn't even straight! I decided to try this place out. Unfortunately there wasn't anything that I liked about this place except that their pricing was more competitive. So, in a way, you get what you pay for. I was able to get a same day appointment. I walked in and it was definitely crowded. Though it may just appear that way because the space is so small! It almost felt claustrophobic to me. The place is old - it could use some updating. It could also work on its cleanliness and customer service. When I arrived, I was picking out colors. This means that my nails were full of different different nail colors. Typically, the technician will wipe off the nails with remover. Well, the technician who was doing my pedicure (who was the first to arrive) only did one hand. She said that the person doing my manicure would remove my other hand. Why wouldn't she just go the extra mile and wipe my other hand? As far as the quality - I wiped off my manicure the same day! I hated it! The color, the texture, and the thickness of the paint. It started to chip off! I was excited to find a place that is more affordable, but unfortunately all of these things don't allow me the desire to want to come back. Getting a manicure and pedicure are supposed to be relaxing. I want to feel pampered and pretty after. I didn't get that feeling here. So I don't think I'll be back here. I may need to try Pinkies across the way. Otherwise, I will drive over to San Ramon instead. read more

Just raised their prices significantly as of Aug- they didn't disclose this until I was done with my pedicure, the "new"pricing wasn't posted. Polish job was fine, but I'd asked for the callous treatment ($10 extra) and they didn't do a good job on that at all- My feet were still rough & calloused at the end. Nor on the massage, there was basically no massage part. A different tech I had several weeks ago did much better on the callous treatment. So between not having consistency among the techs & the higher pricing, I'm going elsewhere next time. read more

I came for a dip mani today and it was horrible. I have been getting dip mani's for years and never had this happen before! She kept putting top coats on three different things then said go wash your hands and when I did the paper towel stuck to my nails. When I showed her she shrugged and got a file and buffed them down and then applied another top coat this started to bubble up and drip off!!! At that point I was panicked I asked if she was a licensed cosmetologist and she looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about! I then asked her to sand it off so I could get out of there I had been there for 2 hours and had had enough and lost any kind of faith that she knew what she was doing. I took a pic of her license and her and will be following up with the owner if I can get a hold of them! On a whole other note they charged me full price! I must have walked in on a bad day. I've been getting shellac for 7 years and this was one of the worst jobs I've seen. She left bubbles and debris on my nail and you can see through the nail polish. Made an appointment for 11:30 and they weren't able to see me until 11:40 which I quickly got over when I saw how many color choices they had! The lady who did my pedicure was great and I was happy with how the results turned out especially since she coupled it with a long massage. All seemed to be going well especially when they started doing my nails at the same time (it's the worst when you have to wait for your toes to be done before they do your hands). The end result of my nails was sub par. When you get shellac and your nail polish is more than 1 cm from your cuticle it's the worst feeling when you walk out. This was the case on both of my thumbs. The rest of the nails were okay but the polish itself spotty. Overall the attention to the amount of time you spend inside was great but the service was just alright. read more
