Called to get a quote for the installation of a wide angle peephole door viewer. The receptionist took down my contact information and told me that a tech would contact me back within the hour. Within that hour as promised, I received a phone call from Ron, who quoted me a very reasonable price compared to a quote that I received from another company. He showed up on time and because he had the right tools, he was very quick and the job was completed within 15 to 20 minutes tops! I'm giving 4 stars because the itchy fiberglass insulation and some metal piece from the door was left on the front porch. Other than that, I'm pleased with this business. read more

I've had a hard time with my vehicle. It has been excruciating to try and save up, finally found affordable gentlemen i live all the way in Huntsville, and drove all the way to them. They made it worth it.They work extremely helpful, kind and experienced. I would go drive again two hours there, two hours back. For their service anytime!! GOD BLESS YOU GENTLEMEN read more

They do great work. Very disappointing experience with the receptionist/office individual who answered the phone. She was borderline rude.

Highly recommend Alamo Key! I needed a spare encrypted key for a used car I just bought. Chris was my on site tech. Chris was prompt courteous, and very thorough. Chris gave me my key and guaranteed the work and if something didn't work he advised to call them and they would make things right. Thank you Chris! read more

I needed a new key so that I can utilize functions like remote start. I should have known not to go through with it because the "technician" they sent cam with his own vehicle and not uniform, with tools in the back of his SUV. So he makes the key and leaves. But them I realize the car does not recognize it. I call him. After 1 hour of wasting my time, he tells me I need an OEM key. What's the point of a locksmith existing if I need to go to the dealer for a new key? Lol. So I decide to demand a refund. It takes forever and a day to get it because the owner thinks he's too good to reach out to customers to solve issues. He did not contact me until AFTER I left a review on google and even then, he was only talking to the technician and not me. So later he calls and tells me he will give my money back if i take off the review. Why would i do that when not only are your services janky but your employees are extremely rude over the phone. I will NOT delete a truthful review of this degenerate company. UPDATE: See how he responded. Trash company with a trash owner read more

The Service Workers name was Ron. He did a fast and efficient job changing all the locks requested. I appreciate the job he did. Thank you

STAY AWAY from this company. Hired to install panic bars and from the start the panic bars were poorly installed and kept falling off. When called to honor the warranty, their response time was unresponsive, Ron would seldom return my calls or give me false dates as to when someone would correct the problems. Had to hire another company to do the work effectively. Will never use Alamo again read more

Company initially did a good job with the installation. We have had some issues with the quality of the lock and have had 2 repairs for it jamming. Called a few times and eventually someone was able to come out and help. However, the dispatch center was not great. I had to call several times to get a repair completed and complete payment of the invoice. In the end it got taken care of. I do have to say the last time we had someone come out to fix the jamming issue (the door would not open from the inside) the 2 guys who came out were extremely helpful and kind. Locked myself out of my car, called 3 locksmiths in town, and Ron was the first to call back. He was upfront immediately and warned me about other locksmiths. He told me the exact price and kept his word. The others were trying to make more money. One guy sounded like a straight-up scammer and only quoted me the service fee. He refused to offer a solid price and told me his max price was $150. The other offered a fixed price but it was $20 more and wouldn't reduce his price. So be careful if you look for quotes. And reading reviews helped immensely. Alamo is definitely trustworthy and I would use them again. read more

Horrible service, full of attitude throughout the whole service. Made the experience more traumatic from what it was already. No sympathy or respect from the worker! Do not work with this company they have horrible service!!! read more

Would NOT recommend!!! Call the guy scheduled a time to come. He stood me up, I called spoke to a lady about the situation. She asked what I need, asked for my number and stated someone would return my call. Needless to say I waited 2 days and No call. If you didn't want to make money just say that. I called another locksmith they came replaced everything and connected my FOB. Thank you for not responding! read more

I contracted Alamo to rekey all my locks less than 3 years ago. All the locks now have turned stiff and break keys on monthly bases. None of my houses' locks show this type of behavior - other houses only the ones that Alamo serviced! Very suspect quality Response to Ron ( Business Owner) - No- Less than 3 years ago... And the defect is on various locks not only affecting one. I have NEVER experienced anything like this....Feel that I was ripped off! I also called you to discuss my concern but still waiting for a call back. read more

I truly satisfied with the service. I just moved to a new home, I call Alamo key and lock, I needed to change my locks, RON answer the phone was very professional and polite, he came on the same day and secure my house, my next step is security cameras after Ron was also consulting me on security. Thank you Ron ! read more

Javier is the best, was able to open our home and save our electronic lock! Definitely recommend him for all your lock and key needs

*DO NOT CALL THEM* I lost $130 just to program a key that was not working for my car called them and they came out quickly but after they left my car wouldn't start they said they were going to come back they didn't instead another guy called me saying I have to purchase another FOB false I had to hire another locksmith to fix the issue so was out another $100 because the job wasn't done right the first time. read more

I was very pleased with the job Ron did replacing the gate locks on both sides of our house. I called, made an appointment, and he came on a Sunday. He provided a clear cost breakdown and even the receipts for the locks that he was installing so I knew there was no markup. He did the work quickly and efficiently. Great experience overall! read more

I don't usually write reviews but feel Really need to. I called Alamo to have a front door handle with matching lock installed. I wanted it done that day (which was today) if possible. They said "NO PROBLEM" and proceeded to chrge me $450.00 for a $67.00 cheap Kwikset handle and lock. He did offer to key it for free! Geez buyer beware (especially if you want something done the same day! Outrageous. Look these people are SHADY. The owner is the one who suggested would refunding me for the removal of the bad review (which admittingly I should not have accepted.). His techs WILL try to price gouge you if you are in a tough spot. ENOUGH. I'm going to report him to the BBB. read more

On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, I contacted Alamo Key & Lock to come to my home to repair a door latch that was stuck in my garage entrance. The technician arrived and took a look at the door and said he could repair it. Because my home has only two entrances--one through the door located at the front of the house, and the other located via the garage which is the one used on a daily basis, it was imperative that the latch be repaired. I agreed to the repair, and the door knob and latch was replaced in about 15 minutes at a cost of $335.00 ($85.00 for the latch and door knob, and $250 for labor)! Once the tech left, I contacted Alamo Key & Lock to speak with the owner/manager just to discuss why the labor cost was so high. The person I spoke with (Ron) seemed surprised that the charge was so high, and asked that I send him a picture of the door knob and receipt, which I did via text. To my surprise, I received a response saying that this was not his company. Once I viewed the receipt, it did not have Alamo Key and Lock displayed--it was just a general receipt that showed "Locksmith Services". I then sent a copy of the Zelle receipt, and was told again that this was not his company. I then contacted Ron again to ask how could this not be his company if the only person I contacted and spoke with on the phone the day of service was a lady named Sabrina who sent the tech, and the tech named Alex. I also indicated my concern that his company would send someone to my home that was not a rep of his company. As a follow-up, I have contacted this company everyday since October 4 (speaking to a different person every time--Sabrina, Chris, Ernesto, Valerie, Keny, etc.) just asking to have a discussion about what occurred, but have not received a response. Just want anyone who is planning to contact this company to please be aware and cautious, as I do not believe the company is as "honest" as they have indicated on their website. I am going to make sure that I share this information with anyone and everyone who is willing to listen! read more

Highly recommend Alamo if you're needing Locksmith services! Their technician Javier was fantastic on a recent job I hired them for! He quickly assessed and solved the issue I was experiencing with a lock at my home. His professionalism and very kind demeanor came across instantly. Alamo was very easy to communicate with. The technician, Javier, was responsive over text and accommodated me moving the appointment for a conflict. Alamo Key And Lock - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Houston, Texas

Not happy! They call some outside service to unlock your house for you & the price is ridiculous! The guy quoted me $25 for a basic door knob lock. Then when The guy from the other company got there he told me it was going to be $60. What could I do? I had no choice but to pay. Hmmm just saw the rude reply. He is lying because me & the guy from the other company DID CALL together to verify the first quote I was given. Then I heard them talking trying to negotiate with each other. It's shady & YOU'RE SHADY! Get ready for the BBB!! read more

I was scammed by Alamo Key & Lock. I know this to be true because they did something that did not make sense: After jiggling one tool in my new three-month-old doorknob for a few minutes, the technician pronounced it unopenable and said he had to drill it out. I had my doubts about this, but I had no choice because I urgently had to leave for work. He then proceeded to replace it with THE EXACT SAME DOORKNOB. He even specifically told me it was the same one. So... why on earth would he not have been able to open the same run-of-the-mill doorknob that he carried in stock?! In the few days since this incident, several mechanically inclined friends and coworkers have insisted that it was laziness, or very poor skills, or the goal of making more money from me. I was quoted $75 (15 for service call, 60 for labor) over the phone, and what I ended up paying was $194 (15 for service call, 95 for drilling out the doorknob, 69 (yes, 69!) for the doorknob, and tax). My technician's name may have been Ben, or Eidan, or some similar-sounding name, but I'm not sure, despite the fact that I asked several times. When I called a few minutes ago to make sure my information was correct, they were very beat-around-the-bush and their voices became very muffled, accusing me of "hiding something" when I would not express my complaint without first being sure of who I was complaining about. Pretty sure I'm not the one with something to hide, Alamo Key & Lock! After the roundabout and frustrating conversation I just had, the man I spoke with over the phone said that within a couple of hours they will have a supervisor call me. I will update this review in the future with whatever they did to resolve this situation and/or any further action I took. In the mean time, I would suggest you try your luck elsewhere. This company has not displayed good ethics and are willing to lie in order to make more money. read more

Did they open our lock? Yes. Were they an honest and straightforward company? NO!!! The price they quoted me was $15 for the service call and $35 per hour, with the assurance that our simple lock could be opened in less than 20 minutes. The technician that came out said that it was $15 and that the service, that took less than 10 minutes, would cost $79! When I told him about the quote, he was very embarrassed and had Alamo call me. The man I spoke with was completely unremorseful and uninterested in making things right. There are countless lock and key services that are surely more ethical than Alamo - call them because from other reviews that I've read here, this company is not above board. Shame on you Alamo!!!! read more

I was locked out on the 2nd floor patio with my wife due to a malfunction in my patio door. With my 7 month old asleep upstairs we were both very nervous. I called Alamo and they sent Javier who arrived very quickly despite it being 10PM and was able to unlock our front door and then come upstairs and unlock the patio door for a very reasonable price. He was also extremely pleasant to deal with and walked me through everything he was doing. I would recommend Javier and Alamo Key and Lock to everyone. Thanks Javier! read more

Locked myself out of the house on a Saturday morning. GREAT, now I'm thinking I have to pay an outrageous price to let myself back into the house. I had some errands to run so I call about 10 minutes before I'm due back at home. They answer all my questions and give me an estimate. Awesome. Not only that but they called when they were about 20 minutes away. Even better so I didnt have to wait in the heat. They stuck to their time window and he had me in my home in no time! Professional, easy and didnt even have to break my lock! Very reasonable price too. Got it all done in under an hour! I'm considering having them come out and replace all my locks. You have one happy customer! Thanks! read more

I had a really bad experience with one of the owner's subcontractors (whom he has to use when he has to use when he occasionally goes out of town). This guy not only installed my lock backwards but refused to come back & fix it. But when the owner finally became aware of the problem, he was prompt in coming out & fixing my lock. Which also fixed the way the door fits. He turned a bad experience into a good one. I've used this business for well over 20 years. Recommended. read more

I had my apartment broken into. It was the third time in two years. I live in a bad neighborhood but it's all I can afford. Anyway, I've dealt with locksmiths before after each of the previous burglaries. It was never pleasant. They always changed the price on me or performed shoddy work. But last month, I regained faith in the locksmith industry. Alamo Key and Lock actually came through for me. The guy that came out was really friendly and knowledgeable and he even helped calm my nerves with some friendly banter. The work was quick and believe it or not, affordable. I'd totally recommend this company over any other Houston locksmith most definitely. read more

Totally agree with Ang F. Did they open the lock YES did they double the price on arrival YES. NO MATTER WHAT KIND OF LOCK IT WILL ALWAYS BE 125-135. They will charge you $100 for coming out plus the service fee. EVERYTIME. So when they quote you 35+25 on the phone it is B.S. called once for the house, now the car, normal standard, cheep locks, same story. read more

I left the keys in my apartment and decided to call these guys since the yelp reviews were pretty great. The guy arrived in decent time (about 20 mins) and when he looked at the door he said it would be $150! It was only ONE simple door lock. I don't understand how he came about that number but needing to get inside I went ahead and paid. I won't be using them next time and hopefully won't forget my keys inside my apartment again. read more

I needed a privacy lock and I had seen the same Alamo Key & Lock van in my neighborhood several times so I called the number on the side of the van. I called and the locksmith was nice and helpful quoted a price. His name was Ron and he was very professional and did exactly what he said he was going to do. The end price was the same as the quote. Ron talked about future security ideas but was not pushy, more of a suggestion than a scare tactic. When I logged on to yelp to write a review, I was surprised to see the other reviews but clearly the reviews were about other locksmiths, with the same company? The man who helped me was timely, called back to ask what color lock I wanted, talked to me about how the lock was installed and why, he was pleasant and honest. I guess the overall point of this review, especially after looking at the other reviews, is to ask for Ron. Ron had other customer calls for business as he was working so he must be the Locksmith's Locksmith. read more

Got locked out my car a few days ago (2/10/2017). I made the rounds to obtain quotes and Alamo was the most reasonably priced out of the 3 (cheaper than the 2nd by $15). My tech, Albert, arrived within 25 minutes (with Friday 6pm traffic at that) and was done in minutes. I didn't have exact cash and he didn't have change, so he offered to follow me to the nearest gas station and waited patiently for me. Albert was polite and his work swift. Would definitely recommend. read more
