I called A&M after another company showed up at my home to do a house lock-out, and I literally chased that sleazy guy away when he failed to instill confidence in me of his abilities AND changed the price quoted me over the phone. So, I called A&M and spoke to Mike. He educated me on what would be required for my particular door knob/lock, what the cost would be to begin with, and a rough idea of what ensuing costs would add up to in order to complete the job. I wasn't willing to go that far financially, but, I appreciated Mike's candor and willingness to be upfront with information. I've read through reviews on google and Yelp, and was hesitant to choose this company. Yet, I did due to the location. First thing is first, a week or so ago the guy did come out to help with our car and got the job done quickly. So yes, they get that part right. I called and a woman answered. Their customer service is no Triple A. She asked what I needed, where I was at and said someone would call me. I asked for price and ETA, and she gave that info. Not once did they ask my name. Half an hour ETA. With babies with us, that was okay. The gentleman, whose name I didn't get, called me about 5-10 mins later and again asked the issue and then told me about 30 mins. 45 mins came and went, and then he arrived. He looked at the car door, and repeated the price. Got the job done. Payment: here is an issue. I'm making up this amount out of respect to the business, knowing prices vary. Let's pretend it was just $10. The guy told us it was $10 only if we pay cash, if we used our credit card then he would charge taxes. This lets you know the shady practices of the business, that they aren't reporting all their income like an honest company. Overall, they got the job done. 3 stars. Customer service, or lack thereof, and lack of professionalism combined with shady practices, lost me on 4 or 5 starts. Note to this business: while you are doing customers a favor by helping them when they lock keys in their cars, keep in mind customers don't have to choose you. The google reviews have the owner posting very harassing messages. If anyone experiences that, please consider filing a harassment lawsuit, or at minimum notifying the BBB. As a consumer, you have your every right to give a review. Most businesses respond apologizing and/or respectfully explaining, not degrading and asking for a face to face confrontation. You should not feel threatened for giving your opinion. Filing a complaint could lead to an investigation and, based on their practices, they cannot afford that. read more

Lost the keys to my 2010 Ford truck. Called another locksmith and they could not get my truck to run. Had a disagreement about whether one should pay for services when the end result was not achieved. I do not think one should pay if the job is not done correctly and completely so I and only paid service call fee. Called A & M locksmiths the next day and they came out to work on truck. Locksmith named Carlos did a good job cutting two new keys and programming a remote to work with the truck. There is a extra step the prior locksmith failed to take. A transponder ring that needed to be unlocked so the engine could start. I just wanted to say that I was sure a trip to the dealer was in the works so I was really glad Carlos figured it out.... read more

On 31 Jan, I dropped off a double key dead bolt lock and a keyed door handle to get them both re-pinned as the key was getting a bit contrary about unlocking these 2 locks. My whole house is keyed to the same key (all other 6 locks worked fine on this same key), thus I wanted to keep these locks on the same key. I told them I was going to be out of town for a week or so and that I would be back upon my return. I was told that the charge would be $10 per cylinder or $30 total and I said OK. I stopped back by the shop on 14 Feb to pick up the locks. The locks were not ready. I was told, they wanted to contact me but I had not left my phone number, which is correct. Was told that the keys worked fine and there was no need to re-key them. I stated that I wanted them re-pinned, not re-keyed. My experience with having to play with these 3 locks over the previous 6 months and the fact that the key worked fine in all the other house locks, indicated a need to re-pin them. After some more discussion, I was told to wait in my car and they would need about 15 minutes to re-pin them. After about 15 minutes, the locks were brought out to me in my car. The double deadbolt lock worked nice and smooth again. The door handle lock was still a bit sticky but I was told it would work fine once it was reinstalled on the door. Next, I was told the charge was $45 for the 3 cylinders to be re-pinned. I said that I had been quoted the charge would be $30 at $10 per cylinder. Back and forth and a call to the owner who said to refund $5. I was told to basically take it or leave it as I was a one time customer. Actually, it was my second time using their services but there won't be a third time. Not the way to treat customers and certainly not the way to treat a senior citizen in their 70's who is also a disabled vet. read more

Would not recommend if you have a VW. Took my wife's 2010 VW to have an extra key/key fob programmed. Not only could they not actually cut the key that comes with it (they melted it), but they managed to make the other key fob not work, cause an electronic emergency brake code pop up, and not accept responsibility for any of it. I did get a refund, but I'm out 4+ hours of my time. Just take your VW to the dealership, or to someone else, just not these guys. read more

As a female, this is the most uncomfortable experience i've ever had. And I would warn anyone who wants to use this service that they treat their customers with disregard and try to prey on them. I was home alone when I requested this company's service only to have them come and demonstrate unprofessional behavior in my driveway. I was told they would arrive in 40-45 mins and the technician didn't arrive till 2 hours later. After calling the company and informing them of my unique key situation they still arrived claiming they could fix it and were un able to make a key for me in the end. He then tried to charge me a travel fee. I informed them that I was never informed of the fee over the phone so let me call the company number to double check. The technician begins to harass me outside of my own home for just requesting to call and confirm with the company. I felt threatened so I went into my home to contact the company. The company operator informed me that I will be getting a call from the manager to discuss the situation and I never did. I did receive a call back from another operator telling me the locksmith will try another method to program my key. Five minutes later I see the guy driving off without informing me anything about the car. After noticing he's leaving I went to inspect my car and found that He left my car door locked which was open when he arrived. I am a health care professional who sees patients daily and all of my equipment was locked inside my car by a vindictive locksmith. I cannot even Uber to work because of this situation. There are children who will not be receiving their treatments because of this situation. I called the company back immediately and was told that they will figure out what was going on and get the manager to contact me. I did not hear from them for hours. I began calling the operator number multiple times and kept getting sent to voice mail. I am worried that the technician may have damaged my vehicle because he had access to the vin number and can program my car computer however he wants. Be careful with this service! They behave impulsively and unprofessionally. They will attempt to spring fees on you that were not discussed prior and if you attempt to ask any questions you are risking malicious mischief happening to your vehicle. I will be filing a police report today agains this company just to document this situation occurrence. Because it is illegal to leave someones property in a different condition that what you found it in. I cannot believe that an established company would risk such a liability against them. Especially when the fault came from a lack of information from their side. The technicians name was Ricky and he also made remarks about enjoying the scent of cannabis in my car, which is offensive because I do not smoke. But the fact that the smell of my cultural food made him excited because the similarities to the smell of marijuana was another huge disappointment. Overall, I just want my car to be left in the state it was found. I received a message telling me "you didn't want to pay Case closed" from the company when I informed them of this situation. Meanwhile I was told a manager will be calling me to discuss the the travel fee and he never did. If a manager had actually called me and confirmed this I would have paid the technician. Instead now they are facing a potentially bigger situation than what it was initially. Proceed with caution if you want to use this company, especially if you are a woman because they will attempt to "muscle you" to make things go their way. Carlos came out to the property within an hour, completed his work professionally, promptly, & efficiently but what really surprised me (as someone who had worked in the locksmith industry) were the PRICES. They were the cheapest in Houston (trust me-others will quote lower and up the price on site), & the dispatch communicated effectively so we weren't waiting around wondering where the tech was. Once they got here they had my Charger open in less than 10 minutes. & the price is very reasonable, called different companies and they all wanted to charge me $75-$85 to come and open my car but A&M Mobile Locksmith charged waaaaaay less than that. I should have done better research before contacting this company. If I would have seen their online responses (e.g. Google reviews) and how they respond to dissatisfied customers, that would have done it for me. Their rude and obnoxious responses demonstrate that they, in no way, are interested in getting to the bottom of the customer's issues (and improving their business) but would rather be defensive and insult the dissatisfied customer(s). I needed a remote fob programmed. When I initially called, instead of picking up the phone I got a text back which was the only correspondence I had with this company. We had several exchanges on the costs for this and not at any point was the additional fee mentioned if a PIN was needed for the programming. They could have easily mentioned this in the exchange once I gave them the vehicle info or even as a contingent, but did not. If they were knowledgeable on the programming from the make and model, they would have been aware of the requirement. Instead, this did not come up until the technician showed up for the appointment. Given this, it came across as more of a "shakedown" than a service. I initially requested that they at least reduce the PIN fee since it did not come up at any point previously, but was refused. Then I learned from my owners manual that this was something that should have been supplied by the dealership upon purchase. They could have also mentioned this, but again went the "shakedown" route instead trying to get more money. I do not recommend this company. read more

I called A & M to picked and changed all the locks for my rental house in Spring. I called the A&M's owner on Tuesday. The owner agreed to meet me at the house at 9:50am on the next day. I even texted the owner for the house's address. The owner gave a text confirmation that someone would meet me at 9:50am on the next day. I arrived at the house on time at 9:45am. Due to my tenant was months behind rent and I got the writ of possession order to open the door. The deputy was also waiting for the locksmith to show out. We were both waiting outside the house. At 10am, the locksmith still didn't show up. I called A & M and the owner said the locksmith was on his way to my house. He is only few minutes away. I waited for another 10 minutes. I called A&M again. The owner assured me the locksmith is only few minutes away. At 10:25am, the sub-contractor locksmith called me, the poor guy did not know anything about coming to change all locks to my house until 10:22am. He has to drive all the way from Baytown to Spring. The trip would take him more than 45 minutes with traffic! I called the owner and confronted him about he forgot to tell the sub-contractor locksmith about the appointment at 9:50am. The owner did not apologize for the mistake but he still insisted the locksmith would come in few minutes. The poor locksmith came at 11:15am. He came with apology. I feel sorry for the poor locksmith. I didn't blame him for the mistakes his boss made. I do NOT like the attitude A&M's boss. My parents taught me whenever I make a mistake. I should apologize and then move on. This A&M boss made a mistake, he never apologize but move on with his lies. Poor manner. read more

I needed a spare office key, so I stopped by the shop enroute to the office. I was greeted immediately and it seriously only took 10 seconds for the key to be cut. Paid my $2.50 and was on my way....Of course that 10 second key would be no good. It wouldn't turn either of the two door locks. Matching the duplicate with the original, the duplicate cut is not sharp/ precise as the original. I had to meet my officemate at the office afterhours to open the door for her, then go to Lowe's and purchase a cheaper, but functional key. I've already received the correct key, so there's really no need to return. read more

I had A&M mobile locksmith come to my home to program a new replacement key for my 2010 Nissan Maxima on 5/12/16. When the technician FILLANY arrived at my home at 7:45pm, he program three different keys and his programming codes were not working. He then tried a dummy key and it finally worked. Well after only having my new key for 9 days(5/21/2016), I went to get a SIMPLE OIL CHANGE and when the oil change was completed my car would no longer respond to the key that this company programmed. I contacted the "owner" on 5/23/2016 to explain my concern. And she states that she has to charge me more money to come and reprogram the key. Why would I pay you again to do what you were supposed to do correctly the first time? Why would I pay for your mistake? She then goes to tell me that when I received my oil change that caused the key to misprogram.... In what world lady? All of my cars are push start, and none of my keys have misprogrammed due to mechanical work especially NOT an oil change!! She then because to loud talk to me and continuously cut me off while I'm simply trying to grab some logic on what she is telling me. Til the point where she was like "well you're either going to pay for our service or you can figure it out" then hung up the phone. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I've never been treated this unfairly by a company that has such great reviews before. The Google reviews are why I chose this company!! They weren't the cheapest by far but I loved the reviews.
