Easy to purchase tickets online! Helpful greeter! Arrived early and they showed old clips of famous actors! We saw the QR code on tables and ordered via phone not realizing that their were humans also taking orders. I wished I was given the option. Ordered the malbec first time it came in a nice sized glass next time a smaller glass. No consistency. It felt almost like bait and switch. Popcorn wasn't give the option of no salt. My friend loved the wings and fries. I would go back but eat and drink before entering. Seats were comfy. Good crowd. The waiters look stressed. They also said when movie starts to write any additional food requests on paper and hold up. The waiters walked pass my waving card a few times.

"The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown theater features a renovated, luxurious recliner seating, curated first-run movies, and cult classics. It offers full-service, from-scratch dining, craft beers, and cocktails delivered to your seat, enforcing a strict no-talking/no-texting policy. " Alamo is getting my touchas into the theater! Why? It really is an experience that I'm obsessing over..how could this post COVID, happy to be a couch potato and stream away moviegoer want to see movies IRL? Alamo is delivering first class service.. You enter the theater and you are greeted, yes, old fashioned"Hello, welcome to Alamo" wait where am I? Courtesy? Smiling employees.. I'm Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz! The theater is well designed, elevator and escalators to get you to the multitude of theaters. Here's what I really love.. -the in dining service! Bottomless popcorn, pretzel with queso ( nice serving!) and mustard, shakes, burgers ( The Royale with Cheese!), fries, desserts, bottomless beverages.. whew! A smorgasbord at your fingers! Scan the bar code, employee comes over and let the service begins! The pretzel is my fave! - seating: comfy recliners, no " big head worries"( hey I'm 5'1"! These head blockers obscure everything with all due respect!) - cleanliness -all new movies and classics! - no texting/talking. Yes folks, the kindly neighbor who hears your excessive chitchat, presses a button and as in baseball " Strike three, you're out!" -most Alamos are in malls, Staten Island is in Hylan Boulevard plaza where there's a wealth of shops pre or post movie. Alamo Downtown Brooklyn is in CitiPoint.. there is a Food Hall, Trader Joe's, Joybird and many more! Repeat after me: "ALAMO, ALAMO, ALAMO,where the movie lovers go! Alamo Drafthouse Cinema 445 Albee Sq West Take R train to Dekalb Avenue Station, exit at Fleet Street exit, Citi Point is 2 steps from Dekalb Station. Follow signs to Alamo Theater. Take escalator to 4th floor or elevator. Get those popcorn fingers ready.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas at City Point is located in Downtown Brooklyn in what used to be Albee Square Mall, it's now a decorative enclosed space. The lower level has an eclectic food court with so many unique food options it was hard to decide. There is a Sephora, Target, Trader joes and three floors of Primark along with shops from independent brands. The Alamo Cinema is on the 4th floor next to Court 16 a Tennis and Pickle ball court. Movie tickets are $19.99 and there is no concession stand, you order food and drinks from your seat and staff bring it to you. I suggest ordering the bottomless popcorn, it was enough for three of us, and we didn't need a refill. The food menu is reasonable price, the theater is clean. They have a strict late entry policy, our show was scheduled for 3:30, seating started at 3:15, however if you come later then 3:45 you will not be allowed to enter ! The escalators were not working inside the theater and a few were out of order inside the mall. The elevators weren't crowed and came frequently. I will visit again and splurge on a sandwich from Katz.

My wife and I have enjoyed this theater several times with the old school ambiance and Great Customer service by sylvan d our server and the tasty wings . A date night out with the wife all in one place.

My partner and I decided to do dinner and a movie for Valentine's Day. We usually go to nitehawk movie theater, but he decided he'd like to try somewhere different. Turns out most of the employees were striking. They stated Alamo drafthouse had fired 70 employees across all chains illegally. We felt badly, but decided to go in, it was late and there would have been no opportunity to go to any other theater. Once inside, due to the strikes there was no food being served. Which was a no for me, because I hadn't eaten since breakfast and it was almost 9pm. However, because this theater is located in the city point mall, which has multiple restaurants downstairs. They allowed us to grab food and beverages and bring it in. A huge plus. The theater seemed clean and the staff that was present was very nice and accommodating. Going back would be determined on more research regarding this strike and the validity of the claims.

Ask the Community - Alamo Drafthouse

Do they serve alcohol?

Yep! Huge menu of it as well.

Do you have to order the food online with the tickets, or can I order food in person?

You order in person at your seat. You can order anytime, before or during the film.

What time does the box office open? I know the ticket machines can be used even when no one's at the front desk. But what if you want to speak to someone at the ticket booth?

It should be open about 11am

How can I tell which of the 7 theaters has reclining seats? Those straight seats are plush but are so uncomfortable after 2 hours!…

All of the theaters have reclining seats, but the catch is they're only located in the first row.

Do you need a ID to go In?

Minimum age of six years old at the Alamo with an adult. 17 and up to buy a ticket solo. https://drafthouse.com/nyc/theater/downtown-brooklyn/admission

Is there a break given between movies during a marathon? If so, how long?

Um..it depends on the movie lol...

How early should you get there before your movie?

I like to get there at least twenty minutes beforehand since it gives me time to use the restroom before I head into the theater. Then you have enough time to put in your food order before the movie starts so you don't have to worry about doing…

Row 4 or Row 5 which is better?

Hi. It's all good. I prefer center back. the seats are nice. try to get the table u can share with your friend. don't worry rows

Are there seats which a disabled person with trouble sitting/standing to fit comfortably? I've got knee/hip replacements...

They do have some seats for wheelchairs in each theater, if that is what you mean. Otherwise, rows are more spaced than your average theater as there is a table every two seats, meaning that you will be able to stretch your legs completely without…

What would be the best row(s) to sit at in these theaters?

Anything a few rows back is good. The front row is a bit too close, but it's tolerable, and it has the bonus of an extendable footrest. The theaters are pretty small, so even the back rows are fine, although I always think the middle is best.

Does this place have loveseats?

No love seats, but there are seats that are grouped together in pairs.

What is exactly on ALAMO menu?

They have an extensive menu from burgers to hotdogs with varied toppings, flatbread, wings both hot and Thai, salads (huge), fries (also huge), chicken sandwiches, and my favorite the truffle parm popcorn. They have warm cookies (stop drooling) and…

Does the Alamo serve breakfast/brunch options for the early showings?

Management told me that Alamo does a special brunch menu for the first two showings of each movie on Saturdays and Sundays.

This review may seem mostly critical, but that's because I really love the place and these issues stand out against what could be such a great experience. 1. I come here (and to to the Williamsburg location) regularly for anime screenings. I've noticed that the selections being shown lately at both locations are sometimes via low-quality video files from (I assume) torrent sites. The subtitles can be poorly positioned and contain formatting and spelling errors; the same type of positional and grammatical errors that occur when subtitles are converted directly from PGS to SRT with little to no extra formatting or QC passes. The video encodes are also sometimes poor quality. I noticed a while back that the Galaxy Express 999 showing had video that was aggressively smoothed over, destroying the finer details available from better sources. I know that movie well, so it was the first time I became really aware of the problem. The copies of some of these films I have at home look way better than the processed versions I'm paying to see in the theater, and that should never be the case. I can't imagine the Nitehawk staff are encoding these themselves, since if they had the source material they could just as easily just play the raw video files or encode at a really low CRF for much better results. And if they are downloading the films, they could instead pay the $20 for a Blu-ray or at least source higher quality encodes and subtitles, since these screenings are many people's only opportunity to see these movies in a theater. 2. The selection of films has been not great lately. This year, we had: The Dagger of Kamui, All You Need Is Kill, Urusei Yatsura 2, 100 Meters... these movies are not good. Some are awful. That said, we do get good stuff often! We get more good than bad. But these special screenings don't happen often (once a month, usually) and we've been on a losing streak lately so it's worth mentioning. 3. Theater 4 sucks. I saw a 4:3 movie there, which is already limiting the screen real estate, but the projectionist also closed curtain over part of the left side of the visible image. It stayed that way for the entire movie, and I was seated way over on the left so I was getting wrecked by it. On top of that, the projector in that theater seems of especially low quality, with an obvious screen door effect that distracts from the experience. 4. The food has dropped in quality. The donut dish they are currently offering is dry, oily, and totally inedible (my partner and I couldn't finish more than one each, we ended up tossing them). The other food items are also of lower quality than the Williamsburg location. I assume the ingredients are all the same, so maybe it's just an overworked staff since it's much bigger? Anyway, I really don't spend as much on food at Prospect Park as I do in Williamsburg because I'm not confident in the quality of the food I'm about to get. Overall, I love the Nitehawk theaters. I definitely dump more time and money into these places than any other businesses, really. I just wanted to voice my disappointment with recent showings in the hopes that things will change, because traveling to Prospect Park (not close to me) to see a hand-picked movie that isn't good, is visually compromised, is poorly subtitled, and is being shown on a low quality projector with the screen partially covering it just bums me out. Hoping my review does some good in improving things, I guess. Looking forward to changing this to 4 stars this year if/when any one of the above issues are resolved, and then up to 5 stars when a few more of them are resolved! These spots are still my homes away from home. The staff work their asses off and the food CAN be solid with some more care. Don't let my bitching about anime screenings turn you off to seeing any other film there. My complaints are hyper specific, and odds are you aren't going there to see anime anyway.

The staff came across as nonchalant and not very engaged, which set the tone right away. The food didn't help either--the spicy tuna was completely flavorless, not crispy and the drinks were underwhelming. We also weren't told ahead of time that you have to pick up your food and drinks yourself, which was surprising since we're used to full service at your seat. On the positive side, the popcorn and truffle fries were decent, but everything else fell short. The seats were just okay--not particularly comfortable. The bathroom situation was also frustrating--it's located upstairs near the restaurant and wasn't well maintained. There were no paper towels, and overall cleanliness was lacking. Overall, this felt like a subpar experience, and I won't be returning. My cousin mentioned the New Jersey location is much better, so maybe it's just this one--but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it.

Though the films are always subject to opinion, the concept of Rooftop Films is utterly brilliant…read more Sitting a top of the concrete jungle of Brooklyn to view an independent / short film(s) with the backdrop of the urban landscape is a nice alternative to the corporate-run theatre experience. Follow it up with a potential after-party or cocktail hour and an opportunity to socialize with the film's crew, and RF becomes a gateway for a night to remember. For the most part, the experience is extremely well organized. There is a group of staff members who help keep the crowds moving all the way from check-in to the seat. The layout of the seats is organized as such to where everyone should have a decent view of the screen itself. Depending on the film and makeup of the crowd, most folks are generally quiet and respectful throughout the screening. Acoustics are good and the picture quality is solid for an outdoor viewing. Of course, this is all possible due to their levels of membership, which ranges from $40 to as much as $250 a year. Every level has different benefits, which include everything from entry status to line priority for summer series movies. It may sound a bit much but it's not a far departure from the regular movie theatres where the prices are slowly creeping up all the time. Attend enough screenings and the deals actually quite solid. Naturally, there are some pitfalls that folks should be aware of: * It's outside. When high up, this means it could be really chilly during the night. Bring adequate protection, like a blanket, or another layer to stay warm. You're also at the mercy of the weather. Rainy days, snowy ones, may result in a screening being moved. Also, sometimes the hipsters will bust out a cig and ignore all rules as if they're Chuck Norris. Someone will happily rat out that person, that is, till they rat themselves out ::cue puff of smoke::: * Sometimes people are distracting. This isn't stadium seating unfortunately with premium surround sound. But someone's big head in the way is not as bad as someone hooting and hollering in the theater. * On occasion, some films will bore you to pieces. This is just the nature of film in general. I can't get mad at it. I'm not imploring everyone to become a member, but I will say that it's worth checking out Rooftop Films when given the chance. If you love the arts and feel like supporting the community, then I would recommend becoming a member (of any level) and check out more films as they become available. And of course, if you're not willing to come to Brooklyn, RF has expanded to where screenings are happening in Manhattan *and* in Queens. Everyone wins. Except kids. Leave them at home.
