Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at High Alpine Brewing…read more We chose this brewery because we thought it was pet friendly, especially since they have a large outdoor upstairs patio. When we arrived, we were initially told dogs weren't allowed. I explained that our dog is extremely well-behaved and simply lays quietly under the table. The hostess said that was fine and seated us at a table right next to the outdoor area. After we sat down, three different employees approached us asking whether our dog was a service animal, even though another staff member had already approved her being there. By that point, we felt singled out and uncomfortable. The final employee was particularly rude and suggested we could tie "it" to a tree if we wanted to eat there. Referring to our dog as "it" and suggesting we leave her tied outside was shocking and unnecessary. Rather than continue feeling unwelcome, we decided to order a pizza to go. We had planned to stay for drinks, appetizers, and dinner, but instead we ate in our car. The prosciutto pizza was decent, but it was much saltier than we expected. At that point, we were just hungry and wanted to leave. What was most disappointing wasn't the dog policy itself--businesses are absolutely entitled to set their own policies. It was the inconsistent communication and the way we were treated after being told it was okay to stay. Instead, the experience left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

We split the ribeye, and my fiancé and I had to take home a to-go Box! Dark chocolate awaits at the end of the meal, flourless chocolate tort to die for! I'm a huge fan.

There's a bar upstairs with ample seating inside and out on their deck which over looks the Main Street and sidewalk. They also have a pool table and a few tv's with sports on. It has a laidback vibe upstairs. The servers I had on both nights were girls and kept watch on glasses to be refilled and then to check if there was anything needed. I enjoyed a prime rib steak on a Friday and then on Sunday I had the Alfredo with chicken. Both dishes were cooked well and flavorful as you'd expect. I've read a lot of reviews and I could see when things get busy the servers could start to lose their attention to all the tables they are over. The kitchen from what I've seen was consistently putting out good food. The only complaint I have and it's aimed at the owners is why do you charge/force a 3.5% fee/extortion on each bill/check to your customers... it's not Las Vegas and that's the only place where I've seen it constantly pushed, however in Las Vegas you can request it be removed and it is. Your establishment does give discounted options- like on debit cards you give a demand a smaller fee - to be totally fee free of demands/extortion you must pay cash...

Solid service there. Once we were seated, the waitress was friendly, attentive, and very good with recommendations. The trophies on the walls give the place a very western feel. The steak lives up to the hype. Mine was a sirloin, and it was aged well, cooked to perfection, and absolutely seasoned to perfection. I got mushrooms on the side, and it's great to see a place that serves mushrooms without onions, since I don't like onions. My wife got the burrata appetizer as a meal and raved about it the entire time. I'd go here again. In fact, I'd make this a regular rotation stop if I lived there.

For these reasons, and for the fact that this has been my experience in the past, oh, 10 times I've tried, I had given up. This morning, my husband suggested that we eat at a restaurant alone, together. Now, maybe your life is much more exciting than mine, but this is pretty out there for a weekday night for our family. I reluctantly agreed and we went to 1880 for dinner. As soon as we walked in the door, the beautiful hostess/server, Val, gave us an award-winning smile and seated us promptly. We started ordering food and drinks and out comes one fantastic thing after another. We had the grilled feta and the masa pockets for starters. The feta was, as all the other reviewers have mentioned, wonderful . But the MASA pockets. THE MASA POCKETS!!! These things tasted like Jackie Chan kicked a bag of Fritos in the face, sprinkled fairy dust and unicorn horns on it, and then put it on a plate for me. It came two to an order and I think I could've eaten 77. Unbelievably delicious. So I'm thinking, maybe this is gonna go OK. Then we shared a toro smash burger and a squid ink pasta. The burger had to be the best burger I have ever eaten in my life and, y'all, I eat a lot of burgers. I am a burger aficionado. I'm one of those crazy people that drives across the country to eat at top-rated burger joints. Anyway, that burger truly has ruined burgers for me (I promptly told all my young'ns that I've got to take them to eat the best burger I've ever eaten- pronto). And the squid ink pasta, wow. It had so much going on that I felt like it was the equivalent of leopard print and pearls. I have no idea how this is all working together, but somehow it's magic. All in all, I want to thank l Val and the whole staff at 1880. You all have restored my faith in restaurants. We'll be back- save us a table.

The corn dogs were slightly burnt (in our opinion) but the flavor was very good, we would order again. However I think the chips are a miss....just serve them without them and charge a little less in my opinion, they aren't needed. We liked both sauces. The potatoes we originally ordered with the fried egg but the server forgot (she was very apologetic) and got one out to us after a few mins. The egg honestly did nothing to the dish. We wish the potatoes were crispier for sure but the garlic aoli was good. However, we prob wouldn't order it again. The masa cakes were good, I would order again but nothing mind blowing. Overall it was just ok. I think what kind of set our decision to probably not return is the fact that a table near us had asked the server something (we aren't exactly sure what) and she took their dish back and then proceeded to talk crap about them in the server/kitchen area. My husband said the table didn't hear her but I don't know how they didn't as she was talking very loudly about how "my tables are so annoying today! The things people ask for are crazy" (etc) and it made me really uncomfortable. I used to be a server and can understand frustrations with customers but it was unprofessional to talk crap about them when other customers can hear.

Let's start with the chips and salsa chips are cold and the salsa was just out of the refrigerator, not that I being cold is bad but the flavor is lacking. It needs some freshness like a pepper, salt , and cilantro. Next the house margarita tasted like water and tequila not much flavor to speak of. Maybe I got the top of the batch but it wasn't any good. My son and I got the chimichanga. As you can see in the pics not really crispy it's very blonde. The ground beef was good but not crispy or have a sauce to help add flavor. So I ordered the green chili to put on top. Again no flavor needed salt really bad. The beans and rice didn't have much flavor either. Salt is lacking for sure. The highlight of the evening was the Sopapillas with honey. Could use a longer cook but spot on!! This place has potential for sure but needs quality control. Small town but good food is good food
