1520 Park St Alameda, CA 94501 This is the Alameda Grill that's next to Alameda Bicycle at Park St & Webb Ave. Alameda Grill is probably the smallest restaurant in Alameda, and mainly serves up burgers and fries. (Not to be confused with the Alameda Cinema Grill). I was there on a Tuesday morning at about 10:50 am. I asked the lady if she was open yet, and she happily said "YES....c'mon in!" This place is very small. As soon as you walk in you'll be at the counter of the kitchen. There's no lobby or dining room. I just ordered a Cheeseburger and Fries. She asked if I wanted a double, and held up two frozen meat patties. I agreed to a double, and she started cooking. FYI- I was a fast food shift Mgr decades ago, and I'm familiar w/ cooking burgers. She laid the two patties on the flat grill, and put a large searing tool on top for 2-3 mins. Then she dropped the fries in the fry vat. I asked for a burger with everything. The food was ready pretty quick, and I was on my way. Free ketchup and napkins. OMG, the french fries were excellent! Crispy on the outside and tender soft on the inside. Fries have a limited holding time of 7-10 mins. After that they become limp and soft. Eat those fries HOT, you will enjoy them more. The Double Cheeseburger was okay. The meat patties were not fully caramelized to bring out the flavor. Needed another slice of cheese. Maybe more mayo and seasonings. But it's a good size, and it's freshly made. It's a good value for the price. They need more outside seating. Burgers and fries should be enjoyed right away. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but fell very short. It's a bland, overpriced ($8) tiny burger. Meat was flavorless, 1 slice of a green tomatoes and lifeless lettuce. The onion overpowered anything on this cheeseburger. Sweet potato fries ok, no seasoning. But that's ok I seasoned to my taste. A bit overpriced ($4) for the amount of fries. Service, well that is also a no go. She seemed upset we were there. Basically she seemed upset at everyone that ordered even the lady behind me. L9cal seemed kinda grungy, tiny just like the burgers. WHEN: Mon @12pm Finally decided to try this burger spot for lunch! I walked here but there are a couple of metered parking on the street. I believe the 3 spots right outside in the lot is for the bike shop next door. There are no indoor seatings, but there is one long bench seating right outside the restaurant. Here's what I had: CURLY FRIES - $3.99 Oh yeah, pretty good and well seasoned. Made to order! CHEESEBURGER - $7.99 Fresh ground chuck USDA, Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and of course Cheese. Solid burger! Meat patty was flavorful and juicy, the buns were soft, and it's everything I expect from a restaurant quality burger. I could have easily eaten the entire thing on top the other burger I had and fries. TERIYAKI BURGER - $8.99 Fresh ground chuck USDA, Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Grilled Onion, and Teriyaki Glazer. One of the rare occasions where a burger can be delicious even though it has no cheese. The sweet flavors were good--I love the grilled onions and teriyaki sauce! A no-frills, what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of little burger joint, run by the nicest lady. Best place for a reasonably priced burger on this side of the island. Yes, Scolari's is better, but over there, you're paying over 20 bucks for a burger and fries. They can get a little busy during the lunch rush, and parking here isn't great, but it's a nice spot when you are just craving a hamburger. read more

I came here around 2:30PM on a Monday and there was no line or crowd as the place was near closing. I ordered a cheese burger and curly fries with ranch dressing. Overall the meal was okay. The burger was classic but nothing stood out. The onion was sliced a little large with some film still on it. And either the ranch dressing or curly fries was a bit too salty. One of my favorite places to get a burger! The burgers could be compared to in-n-out, in that they're simple. cheap, and seasoned-well. The menu isn't huge, you have your burgers and fries--but unlike in n out, they can add bacon and other toppings. This is definitely a take-out spot, since they have very limited outdoor seating. Great hamburger! I got the double cheeseburger, delicious! I've been coming here off and on since 2012. The lady is nice and patient when you order, but the menu is pretty much self-explanatory. Bacon is an extra $1.00 for 2 slices. We enjoyed it though! The meat was juicy and the condiments (lettuce, onion, tomato, mustard, mayo) were all fresh! I like how it was light mayo so that the mustard and mayonnaise don't take over the burger. We also got a side of nacho cheese fries with jalapenos on top! If you do get fries you will need 1 side per person. I felt like the portion size was small so make sure to order accordingly! We stayed and sat outside. There is no inside seating. Got lunch from alameda grill recently because we were craving burgers after my daughter's basketball game. Before writing this review, I actually reviewed this place 11 years ago, whoah that was a long time ago. Anyways our order was taken by this sweet lady, I feel like she was the same person who took my order many moons ago, I ordered the veggie teriyaki burger, side of fries and sweet potato fries. I took a bite into my burger and swear thought it tasted like the real beef for a second but looked at my burger and could obviously tell it was a veggie burger, the grilled onions was perfect with the burger, actually one of the best veggie burgers I had in awhile. read more

A tiny little to-go burger spot on Park Street and Webb. They do have a small bench and counter outside if you want to eat there. The nicest, sweetest lady (owner?) runs the show. She is always super friendly and funny. She seems to run the place solo as cook, cashier, and customer service. Very reasonable prices. Very delicious burgers. This is the place you want to go if you want the (in the BEST way) sloppy, juicy, messy, flavors dripping down your hand burger . Parking, depending on the day and time you go can possibly be challenging as it is right off park street, but they do also share a tiny (I think only 3-4 slot) parking lot with the bike shop. I feel like finding a good burger is hard to come by, especially when you consider taste, price and value. I'm also super picky when it comes to burgers. This place however hits all the checkboxes. Alameda Grill is a small hole-in-the-wall that's been around as long as I could remember. This place has NEVER disappointed. It's affordable, tasty and fast. The menu also isn't too overwhelming. There are also Korean style dishes and Korean fusion burgers as an interesting twist if you're feeling up for it. My go-to is their hamburger and sweet potato fries. The burger is seasoned pretty well, it's flavourful, and it's very filling. For reference, it can be compared to an In-N-Out style burger, except this burger is more filling. Their fries are also excellent (I've had most of them). Owners are down to earth and friendly. This is a family run business I've loved supporting throughout the years. This is easily my favourite burger in Alameda! My only complaint is that the hours are very limited. 11:00am-3:00pm Monday-Saturday feels like a short window of time especially if you're not free during the afternoons. read more

Ordered the "Giant Cheeseburger" and Jalepeno Cheese Fries. The burger was dry and was lacking some flavor. I asked to add jalapeños to my burger and she was quick to inform me that it would be an extra $0.50, and guess what? She forgot to put them in the cheeseburger! The fries were put in an inadequate container and all the cheese and jalapeños toppings spilled to one side. Even one star is generous. This place is filthy. I really cannot capture how disgustingly dirty it is. The burger had no flavor and was cold. We spent $30 with tax and tip for a lunch that will probably go through us like bad fish. I cannot understand why the Alameda County Health Department allows a place like this to operate. It was an easy choice for us before our appointment down the street at the stroller store. I feel like Alameda gets a little busy in Saturday's, so it was nice to somewhere like here that was less crowded with a chill ambiance. This was the worst food I ever had in Alameda. Terrible small nasty burger and onion rings were not even crispy. The BLT had maybe two pieces of soft barely cooked bacon not crispy at all and the steak fries were not crispy and tasted raw in the middle. More lettuce than anything, the bread was soggy too. Nasty food. This place used to be so good but not anymore plus $30. Down the drain!!! Awful. read more

Whenever I am craving a Cheese burger this my go to spot. I love the Bacon, Mushroom, Avocado Giant Cheese Burger. The Portion Size is Huge and is very filling and tasty. The Jalapeno Nacho Cheese Fries are another must try as you can not go wrong. And to quench my thirst the Strawberry Milkshakes are one of a kind. I've been coming here for years. They are consistently good throughout the years. I believe they are Korean owned burger joints, and they have the standard burgers, but in addition has a couple of unique ones like teriyaki burger and Korean burger. They also have a beef rice plate and chicken rice plate as well. I've been a fan of their chicken rice plate for yeas. Today I went for their teriyaki burger. The sauce isn't too sweet, and grilled mushrooms and onions were a perfect addition to the burger, tomatoes and lettuce. Small little place with outside seating. Only like 4 parking spaces with a time limit of 24 minutes. Service: The service is always friendly. The only thing is that I can't always understand them, which I don't really mind. It just that it seems to annoy them that I can't understand them. They kind of roll their eyes at me when I ask "I'm sorry, can you say that again?" Food: I really like their curly fries, but the onion rings are horrible in my point of view. Best take out burgers on the island. Nice, big, juicy burger, cooked to order. Fresh toppings. I get mine with a french roll for 50 cents more. Good fries. Downside: really small place, good for take-out. Only a few outdoor tables, so if its cold you're SOL.
