One of the best meals I had in Barcelona. The pan con tomate, escalivada, and whole chicken were absolutely fantastic. The patatas were a bit soggy, though. But the chicken was so good that I have no complaints about the food.
Service was mostly friendly and helpful, but ordering wine by the glass was a bit... weird. They have an amazing bottle list (though a bit overpriced, if we're being honest), but no BTG list.
When I asked for one, the sommelier came out and asked what style of wine I was looking for, and then just brought something that she thought fit the profile. What she brought was fine, but I'm a bit of a wine nerd and I would've liked to see a BTG list (they told me they didn't have one... huh?!) or at least gotten a few options from the Somm so I could then pick. But nope, I just kinda felt like I had to take what she gave me.
Location was beautiful and somewhat funky (mainly referring to the lighting in the entryway), though I would've liked to better understand which parts were Al Kostat and which parts were from the fancier Michelin-starred restaurant (it's all kind of intermingled).
Definitely recommend it for a nice dinner and maybe some cocktails and a bottle of wine, but be aware that the BTG wine experience is pretty much dictated by whatever the sommelier chooses to bring out. read more
